Avenida da Liberdade
旅旅の径When visiting Lisbon, Portugal, strolling, photographing, shopping and eating on Avenida da Liberdade is a must.
Avenida da Liberdade, which runs through the north-south central axis of Lisbon, was built between 1879 and 1886. It is 1.2 kilometers long and 90 meters wide, and is known as the "Champs Elysees of Lisbon".
Strolling along the avenue, the roadway with 5-10 cars is busy and orderly; the street garden + pedestrian path wider than the roadway is shaded by rows of trees, and the Portuguese-style black and white brick floor is full of charm; the various buildings facing the street compete with each other, and luxury stores of big brands are lined up; sometimes it is a spacious and lively square, and sometimes it is an alley at an intersection; the towering sculptures are telling the history, and the comfortable tourists are enjoying today...
Belém Tower
TtravelwithamelieLocated outside Lisbon, we need to take train to go here. There are two types of train, cheap one without seat number and a more expensive one. I took the cheap one and there were lots of people both tourists and locals. Belem Tower area is free for public (unless you want to go inside the tower) and has park and trees to rest. Some food and drink stalls are also there.
Alfama
__We***10The Jerónimos Monastery is located next to the Nautical Museum, Belém Tower, and the Monument to the Discoverers. It is a magnificent monastery and can be said to be the most prominent monument in Lisbon. The exterior is gorgeously decorated and the carvings are exquisite, showing the glory and artistic achievements of the Age of Navigation.
The Santa Maria Church in the monastery is magnificent, the interior decoration is magnificent, the high dome and the exquisite stone carvings are breathtaking. Worth a visit
Lisbon Cathedral
盖盖勒敏丁大全The oldest Catholic church in Lisbon, located in the middle of the Alfama district of the old town, is behind the site of a Roman theatre, which is being excavated and repaired. It is also well preserved after the Lisbon earthquake! The stained glass inside the church is beautiful!
Santa Justa Lift
Cchinadesk1Lisbon's San Husta lift is vertically lifted, 45 meters high, neo-Gothic decoration. Visitors can overlook the city street view and become a tourist landscape. We caught up with the maintenance when we went, it was not open, but the lift itself is a scenic line. There are several other lifts in Lisbon.
São Jorge Castle
EEkaterina YankovaGood but not great. Located on the highest hill of Lisbon, old style fortifications. If you have no other things on your bucket list then go for it.
Eduardo VII Park
DDarDar BinxWhat a beautiful park to enjoy a great day at. Something for everyone, from the walking paths, huge playground for children, sports and exercise areas to the amazing botanical gardens built in the old quarry. Full of statues, birds and wonderful views. Definitely a great place to explore or just relax on the grass and enjoy the sunshine.
Monument to the Discoveries
Mmushroom055The entrance ticket allows you to take the lift to the top floor. From there you still have to climb a few flights of stairs to reach the observation deck. The view is nice but it's not the only place in Lisbon where you can get nice views over the Tagus estuary. The museum at the basement is worth a visit if you're interested in how the landscape in Lisbon changed over the years.
Bairro Alto
Cchinadesk1The orange roof of Lisbon's old town. Be sure to take a distinctive yellow tram and drive on a winding path. Standing high, overlooking the city and the water, Lisbon looks particularly beautiful and suitable for taking pictures. The small coffee shops and shops on the hill make visitors linger, and Lisbon's old and fashionable feel is found.
