"The tent campsite is on Yuesha Island. We took the Bigfoot train there and came out. The tents were spacious, clean, and the air conditioning was cool enough during the day, and the heater was available at night. There were several large slopes nearby for sandboarding. Sandboards could be borrowed from the front desk; we took three or four extra and left them at our room door upon check-out. The young man at the front desk was very kind. When I asked for an extra pillow and blanket, he said he'd look in the storage room. I thought it was just an excuse, but he actually brought them to our room door around 9 pm – we were so grateful! Everyone was very considerate that night; no one was talking loudly after 10 pm, and we slept very well. However, the campsite doesn't seem to organize stargazing or sunrise viewing anymore; we had to watch the stars on the sand dunes ourselves. All the streetlights at the campsite are turned off after midnight. It was cloudy that night, so we didn't see any stars, which was a bit of a disappointment. Overall, for the Lotus Hotel during the National Day holiday, which cost 2000 RMB per person, it was quite good value for money."

Navigate to the Hualian Resort Reception Center, where the service is incredibly thoughtful. They'll even transport your luggage directly to the hotel, so you can head straight to the island to enjoy yourself. The hotel facilities are also excellent. You absolutely must attend the bonfire party in the evening, complete with fireworks and stargazing. The buffet hotpot is also a great option! Outside the lobby, there's a pool with sun loungers, giving it a real resort vibe. It's worth mentioning that the hotel has a mini-train specifically for taking guests to designated spots – it's a super novel and fun experience! We chose an exterior-view room, which I highly recommend. It has a large balcony where you can gaze at the desert. In the morning, it feels like you're waking up right in the desert. What truly elevated our travel experience the most was the express pass. It felt completely worth the hotel fee, as we were able to enjoy Xian Island without any queues during the May Day holiday. The hotel is supposed to allow direct access to the scenic area, but to redeem the card's included activities, we had to check out, leave, and queue again to get back in. We queued for three hours in the morning, going from the hotel entrance back to the hotel entrance. Although the Ordos transit card is very affordable, it's also incredibly crowded, which greatly diminishes the user experience."
