Santa Catalina Hotel is undeniably a historic architectural landmark, but as a hotel experience it fell well below expectations. On arrival, the service felt cold and somewhat pretentious rather than welcoming, with concierge staff coming across as detached and pompous rather than genuinely hospitable. A key reason for choosing the hotel was the prominently advertised rooftop pool and views, only to discover after check-in that access is restricted to suite guests. The spa is similarly limited unless you pay €15 per person for 90 minutes, which feels disproportionate given the modest facilities. These restrictions are not clearly communicated at booking and leave a sense of being misled. Several of the lounge and communal areas were also frequently reserved for corporate events and seminars, which further diminished the sense of a relaxed hotel environment. As a guest, it often felt as though you were secondary to business groups and functions moving through the space, even in more personal hotel moments such as walking through common areas in a robe. In-room entertainment is very dated, with a non–smart TV offering only basic local and satellite channels. Room service carries a €5 delivery surcharge, while on-site dining is largely limited to high-end fine dining with little casual alternative. It is also worth noting that Las Palmas sits under a noticeably less favourable microclimate than the south and west of Gran Canaria. During our stay, conditions were consistently cloudy, windy, and cool, which further limited the enjoyment of the hotel’s already restricted amenities. For those seeking reliable sun and beach weather, the southern or western parts of the island are a better choice. Overall, despite its striking heritage setting, the combination of underwhelming service, restricted access to advertised facilities, dated in-room amenities, corporate use of guest spaces, and disappointing weather made for a stay that did not feel justified by the price and is not somewhere we would return to. The atmosphere and clientele also skew noticeably toward an older demographic.

The room is quite small and there isn't much space for suitcase or two people to sit and eat a meal but the bathroom is very very nice and the bed is quite comfortable. Staff is there 24/7 to help you and the location is perfect to the shopping centre and local restaurants! Really recommend!

This is a perfect hotel spotless like new build staff very polite helpful in every way comfortable bed big TV water in mini fridge breakfast available if wanted extra cost would deffo recommended as some of the building around the area are ready to drop 2 min to beach 5 mins to shops good location

Good location, high cost performance, the balcony can directly see the sea, the room is relatively large, the room is also very good, three times cheaper than the next home stay we live in, it feels more comfortable, bigger, cost-effective, I am sorry, I regret to live in a famous place. I have lived for 20 days. I only stayed here on the last night. If there is still a chance to go here, I will choose it here.

The room was very comfortable, but the towels were not dry as they looked like shirts and the bed shoes were a little dirty.

Check-in was a bit complicated and time-consuming as there was no front desk (you need to contact the hotel staff on WhatsApp). You need to be careful because you can't check in early or leave your luggage early even if you arrive early. Perhaps the canary is more humid than in Europe, the room smelled a little moldy and the room felt damp. There are windows, but is our room a courtyard? There was only a window facing, and the windows and curtains were closed all the time. Also, I think the walls are thin because I could hear music in other rooms. The door that separates the bedroom and bathroom is unstable and the gap above is large, so it is not recommended for those who care about sounds such as bathing or excretion. Also, since the bathroom only has shampoo and shower gel integrated, I think that those who are interested should bring shampoo and body soap. The room is equipped with a kettle, microwave, refrigerator, sink and tableware, so you can prepare a simple meal. Isn't it good for people staying consecutive nights?

incredible experience. friendly staff. comfortable beds. spacious and clean toilet. very nice terrace. All i would suggest is add more sockets in the room or add an extension cable. Also adding a shower door would mean alot less water on the floor after every shower. other than that its perfect
