Of course Serpent Mound within 2 miles of the Holler it is a 1,348 foot long serpent effigy and ponder its mysteries they open Tuesday thru Sunday5. Five miles from our home is Chalet Nivale, Arc of Appalachia--shaded hollows, vertical cliffs, rare plants, carved out by two of Ohio's cleanest streams. Both are easier excellent hikes. Fort Hill is a hike through a mature forest to the top of the ridge where a 2000 yr-old mystery of the Hopewell culture awaits. Hike more intense Buzzard's Roost, or check out the Arc of Appalachia's site for more challenging hikes. Or simply stay at the cozy cabin; you're likely to see deer and wild turkeys!
