"The big plus for the apartment is the view of the volcano across the bay. It’s a short tram ride from the train station and an easy walk to the ferry across to Sakurajima. The owner doesn’t speak English, but it is very easy and quick to communicate via her daughter. The accommodation itself is well equipped - good to have a washing machine - but it is all very basic. For the price, we were happy with our stay."

"This is a hotel with history. That is, old. There is a slight smell when you first enter the room, but you can ventilate by opening the window. It is very attractive that parking is free at a hotel located downtown, and since there were not many guests, we were able to rent out the large public bathhouse. The sauna was not operating. The view from the large bath located on the top floor is also quite nice. The hot spring water quality is very good."

"Encountering a lot of bugs may change the situation. The equipment is very old, there is no sound insulation at all, and nothing seems to be updated or repaired. The above general transitional accommodation is still barely acceptable. But the dust, cobwebs, and bathroom hygiene are daunting... The quality of the hot springs is excellent."
