The room was quite clean and quiet, and the view from the window was the Public Security Bureau, which gave a great sense of security. The second-floor platform is perfect for photos, especially at night when the lights are on. It's also very close to the exit of the pedestrian street. The hotel even helped us buy tickets, and we could freely enter and exit until 5 AM the next day. When the hairdryer broke, they quickly sent someone to fix it. We were so tired on the first day that we slept until almost check-out time around 11 AM, but when we asked if we could extend our stay, they let us check out at 2 PM. This hotel is really good!

My stay at Xitang Yuyaxuan's 180-degree river view room was absolutely perfect, completely fulfilling all my imaginings of a Jiangnan water town.
The room's floor-to-ceiling windows and balcony framed the misty promenade and the gurgling river into a living painting. I slept beside the water, watching the morning mist drift over the stone bridges and black-awning boats cut through the dawn light. In the evening, I admired the setting sun painting the corridor roofs red and lanterns gradually illuminating like stars – truly ”living within the scenery.”
The guest room itself was also incredibly charming, cleverly converted from an ancient Ming and Qing dynasty residence. The interior retained the elegant antiquity of wooden beams and carved windows, yet was equipped with modern comforts, showcasing a strong sense of design. Lying on the soft bed, with the gentle sound of sculling oars in the background, even my dreams were imbued with the warmth of the water town.
This is undoubtedly an excellent place to experience the essence of Xitang, and I highly recommend it to every traveler seeking tranquility and beautiful views.

Booked a 3-person family room, which was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. It even had a small courtyard with a table and chairs. The bedding was comfortable, and the bed was huge. It was very quiet at night, so both us and our dog slept soundly.
The hotel has a distinctive Han Dynasty style, which is quite unique. The mini wontons for breakfast were good. Overall, it offers great value for money.

We had a great stay. The guesthouse host was incredibly welcoming; they even went out of their way to meet and pick us up. They also helped us purchase discounted tickets. What a beautiful hotel, from outside to inside. It's located just outside Xitang Scenic Area, but they have a backdoor through the garden where the staff can escort and bring guests thru so you don't have to pay again for a ticket to enter the attraction.
Every bit of the room is spacious, from the bathroom to shower area to the bedroom. I love how the bed faces a full ceiling to floor window where you can wake up to a lovely view while still lying in bed.
The bed and pillows are firm and comfy. The water pressure in the shower is good but hard to control the temperature. The hair dryer is a little weak and took a while to dry my short hair. The room also came with a generous plate of fresh fruits.
Service was excellent and friendly. Breakfast buffet was simple, nothing fancy but the usual staples are there and food quality is ok. The live noodles station was the best for me, can't go wrong with hot noodles soup & wantons, especially on a cold morning.
Was given a beautiful tea cup as a farewell gift at check-out.
Overall it was a great stay and I highly recommend anyone planning to stay a night at Xitang to stay here!

Facilities: The room facilities are very good, the bedding is very textured, and the disposable items are complete. Smart toilet, dry and wet separation is very convenient to use.
Environment: As soon as you come in, you will feel hidden in the city. The courtyard is very large, and the large terrace on the second floor will take you into the feeling of walking into the garden.
Service: The lady at the front desk is very polite, wearing traditional Chinese costumes, and pointing out the route to the scenic spot. Very satisfied

The location was good and the accommodation had a nice Chinese-style classic feel. One thing that was inconvenient was that when I arrived at the accommodation, I had to wait a long time to meet the owner. Of course, he wrote down his phone number and went out, but it was a shame that I couldn't meet him when I checked out.

This is a guesthouse in the Xizha Scenic Area.
It's at the end of a narrow alley, so I couldn't find it on my own. But the staff at the hostel kindly called and asked for the hotel, and I was able to find it. The hotel staff were very friendly.
The room has a lovely atmosphere, and it's perfect for exploring the ancient town late at night or early in the morning.
The air conditioning was weak, so it was a little cold.

I received a call immediately after booking to confirm my arrival time and arrange ticket purchases (discounts available, free for seniors over 70). A friendly staff member picked me up and helped with my luggage; they responded promptly to any questions.
Regarding the environment, I really loved the courtyard and cabins.
Sitting in the courtyard watching the swaying trees and listening to the wind and birdsong was the epitome of idyllic living. However, the reality is that there are mosquitoes, and it gets quite chilly in late autumn and early winter.
The duplex layout was a highlight when I chose the room, but I wouldn't recommend it for older people. Getting up at night requires climbing stairs to the first floor, which isn't very safe.
The bathroom doesn't have a door, so water splashes onto the sink area. There's no absorbent mat either; I suggest improvements.
Also, the air conditioner is extremely noisy, but when it's off, it's very cold and damp, and the blankets feel damp. The staff member mentioned that the noise seems particularly loud when it's quiet here.
I explained the situation to the young lady, and she changed my room to ”West Window Dream” for the second night. Although the atmosphere and design were slightly inferior, the standing air conditioner was powerful, and she even added a blanket and an electric blanket, which satisfied my comfort needs! Thank you, Xiao Wen, for your service!

Dining: We thoroughly enjoyed the dining options, including the Chinese restaurant, the organic cafe, and the breakfast spread. The ingredients were fresh, which gave us peace of mind.
Service: The service truly stood out – it was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, with staff always going the extra mile. A special mention to the cleaning staff: one housekeeper proactively offered me sanitary pads and brown sugar when she noticed I wasn't feeling well. Another time, during breakfast, the staff kindly helped me carry food to my table while I was holding my child.
Family-Friendly Amenities: There's an indoor Montessori kids' club, which, while not huge, is a nice option. Right across from the hotel is an organic farm; it's perfect for a leisurely walk if the weather permits and has a lovely French chateau ambiance.
Photography: We used the 'Qidu Travel Photography' service. They were very efficient and even gifted us three complimentary photos. We were extremely pleased with the results!

Unfortunately the hotel and the room is totally different from what we booked. As explained by the front desk, our original room has just undergone sanitazation hence change us to another riverview room. We checked in then realised that there are two near to similar name hotels and believe both under the same management. We are looking for the black & white theme hotel as the picture published on the website but in reality we get another older hotel & room beside the river. Not sure what is the reason we don't get the exact hotel and room there since it is non peak season.

The environment and service are still beautiful, and the room facilities are fully upgraded and more elegant and advanced. I stayed for two nights in a row, and most of the time I was drinking tea on the balcony, watching the bridge, the promenade, and the cruise ship. I will stay here again when I come to Xitang.

MMr xiaomuI chose to come to Xitang for New Year's Day. I spent the Spring Festival in Xitang ten years ago. After several comparisons, I chose this hotel to stay in.
The hotel staff provided good service. They would contact and push the parking address in advance, and wait for the arrival time to be confirmed. They would greet and lead the way after driving to the hotel on the same day.
The hotel is located in the scenic area of Xitang Ancient Town, not far from the core area. You can go back to the hotel to rest when you are tired. The decoration style of the room is also very consistent with the temperament of the ancient town. I specially booked a room with a balcony and got up early in the morning to welcome the first ray of dawn in 25 years!

Zzk134943The guesthouse is conveniently located within the scenic area. It's very quiet at night, unaffected by the noise from the bar street. It's right next to the river cruise; you can see it as soon as you step out. A quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, this guesthouse offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended.
