Hotels near Carlisle Castle, Carlisle

The hotel is very well located only 5 mins walk from the main line railway station. The rooms were clean, spacious and the design allowed a lot of natural light. The staff were friendly and efficient, the bar prices were reasonable and the breakfast very good indeed. A lot of work has obviously been put into making this a very welcoming environment. This was a short family break and we will definitely return again next year.

The room was cleaned very well, and the surrounding environment was also very good. The service attitude was very good, because this is a private residence. It is convenient to enter and exit the room with a password. The facilities are complete, and although the room is not big, it has everything you need. Especially the lighting in the bathroom is very beautiful. The owner's caring service makes people feel particularly warm, and my daughter's favorite chocolates and biscuits, etc. . .

The hotel I was originally booked in had a flood so at the last minute I had to find another one, I found  Arkale lodge and it didn’t disappoint, the rooms are pretty basic, but extremely clean which  in my book is more important than a fancy room. And certainly good enough for the price I paid, the gentleman that showed me around was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was from 7 which was perfect for my continuation of my Hadrians wall walk. The Breakfast was included in the room price and was exceptional (full English, which I easily adapted as a non meat eater)  It was plentiful, delicious and freshly made. And a great start to my long tiring day  Thank You so Much  For your kind hospitality  Cathie :)

The front desk clerk is very good, breakfast is good 👍

Worth considering if staying at carlisle. Basic no frills service for the price is definitely well worth

The hotel interior is looking rather tired, the corridors are stark and our room while spacious was unattractive. The bathroom was cramped and poorly designed. It was clean and tidy and the staff do the best they can with difficult facilities and surroundings.
