Amazing
I absolutely loved this hotel and highly recommend it. The ambiance is elegant; from the service to the architecture and interior design, you can truly feel the traditional Japanese culture – no wonder it's a 150-year-old establishment. I originally went there solely for the food, and it didn't disappoint. From the ingredients and beautiful plating to even the handmade sauces, the taste was superb – a truly exquisite Ajituke (though those who prefer stronger flavors might find it a bit bland). It perfectly embodies the chef's dedication and craftsmanship.

Although it wasn't quite the full experience of omotenashi, the interns clearly tried their best to accommodate my needs. There were a few minor hiccups here and there but overall its still a pleasant stay with an excellent location, just around the corner from the bus terminal. The payment system had technical issues when i was trying to make payment via card which ultimately led to me paying in cash instead, so do bring enough just in case situations like this happens. The room itself was simple with all the essentials provided from what you would receive from any other onsen ryokan. The breakfast was far from light in my opinion. Going into it with that expectation, It was a considerable spread; including everything you would expect of a typical japanese accomodation breakfast.

The room facilities and environment were excellent, with a private bath 😊. Complimentary breakfast and yukata (light cotton robe) were provided 👍🏻. The location was great, close to the hot spring and shopping street! 10/10 recommendation, I hope to stay again!

Located about a couple minutes walk from the Kusatsu Bus Terminal, Nakamuraya Ryokan was overall a pleasant stay. The Ryokan, located at the central part of Kusatsu Onsen town, was close to all types of amenities the town had to offer, and there were more than enough restaurants and stores to explore at our whim. Overall, the lodging experience felt pleasant, with multiple cats roaming about the property and with private onsens that guests could use during their stay. If you are looking for a more traditional lodging experience, I would highly recommend staying at a Ryokan such as Nakamuraya Ryokan. If you are looking for a more modern “hotel” experience, staying at a Ryokan like this one maybe either a pleasant surprise or a relatively alien experience.

An oasis of calm in a stone’s throw away from Yubatake. Getting up here can be tricky if you drive but the staff are standing by to direct your car to the reserved parking lots. Breakfast and dinner were exquisite Kaiseki sets. The indoor/outdoor onsens were spacious and clean, with zen greenery surrounding the baths. Traditional rooms are spacious and cosy, with staff setting up the futons while you have dinner. Great place to stay with delicious food.

You need to wear slippers to get in. The staffs can only speak little english, but they are very kind and polite. The room is huge, it's like an apartment. It also has nice snow view from window. And the location is very close to the main road. It also close to the bus station. The dinner and breakfast also tasty. Japanese fine dining haha.

SSuriani KLocation is 10 mins walk from Kusatsu bus station with slight slope street. Room is quite spacious for 2 person and 2 luggages. Good that all hotel information has been translated in english and are very clear and helpful EXCEPT entrance has no information to take off shoes as Japanese tradition. When we came, reception staff was on break and seem he might be the only person handled everything. Overall location is prime for this place.

The hotel effortlessly blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern comforts. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, ensuring every aspect of the stay was seamless. The check-in process was smooth, and the hospitality throughout my visit was outstanding. The tatami-style room was beautifully designed, offering both elegance and comfort. The highlight was the private open-air onsen on the balcony, where I could soak in the natural hot spring water while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. The serene ambiance made it a truly rejuvenating experience.
