Luxury Hotels in Lyon

"The check-in went smoothly until the receptionist told us that we had requested a non-AC room (with the AC to be disconnected during our stay), supposedly based on a note from Trip.com. I told the receptionist that I definitely did not make such a request—especially not in the middle of summer—and asked to see the note from Trip.com. They couldn’t show me the note and instead claimed that, since I was now denying the request, the note had already been removed. We were checked into a non-AC room, and the hotel promised to send a technician to reboot the AC. That never happened. Eventually, we were moved to another room where the AC was already functioning. The whole situation felt suspicious. It seemed like the receptionist was trying their luck by placing us in a non-AC room. What’s even more ironic is that the new room had a welcome note addressed to me, while the non-AC room was completely bare, with no such note. We definitely won’t be coming back. The hotel staff came across as insincere and pretentious."

"Thank you so much to Zimo customer service! They even helped clean up afterward. There were a lot of mosquitoes the night we checked in. The reason was that I'd opened the window during the day, but no one warned me. I'm used to opening the window as soon as I walk in, and it ruined my sleep. Fortunately, I negotiated with the front desk and got a room change. I paid cash on the spot, and it was over $100 cheaper than my previous room. It seems Ctrip is being too shady. Also, Ctrip's overseas customer service isn't very helpful; don't count on it; you'll have to rely on yourself! They don't give points for reviews, and I won't post pictures anymore; it wastes my data."

"Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Lyon. From check-in to check-out almost everything was perfect. The only three things I would improve are: 1) the hotel bar didn't have stools 2) the Nespresso Machines didn't have single serve coffee-mate creamers or at least powder so you had to call down for cold milk for 5€. 3) like many hotels in Europe they didn't have wash cloths in the room (face cloths or serviettes carrés as they call them). What do Europeans wash with? The lobby was elegant and inviting. The Grand Salon was cinematic. The rooms albeit a little small were well designed, comfortable and had great AC and rain showers. The pool, sauna, steam room, tea and relaxation room in the basement were perfect after a hot day touring Lyon. The cocktails were prepared with love and attention and served in vintage glassware. However martinis and old fashioned's should have more than loz of alcohol. The breakfast buffet was complete and delicious and you could even order an avo toast, truffled omelette or œufs a plat a la carte. I highly suggest you book the bed and breakfast rate to not be shocked by the 39€pp charge if you didn’t. Their Italian restaurant, Angelo's, looked delicious, but was a little pricey so we ate out all three nights in the Capitale Gastronomique de la France. The staff were warm and accommodating and it's in my top 3 reasonably priced boutique hotels in Europe."

"Excellent hotel, nothing to complain about the room or the hygiene. The underground parking with valet service is handy (at a correct price). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was the fact that despite an earlier email and the extra specific on the day of our arrival in advance by telephone that we requested a room with 2 beds, this was not taken into account when we arrived at the hotel and we got a room with one ”large” bed. The next day we did get the requested room with 2 beds. For the rest everything was actually perfect!"

"This is a five-star hotel in a classic style, converted from an old building. Definitely not the kind of hotel used in China. In the center of the old town of Lyon, there are various stores on the doorstep, and a stylish chocolate shop diagonally opposite, and the famous Rose Tower attractions across the alley next to the hotel. The interior decoration of the hotel is also old-fashioned, the door is opened with a key and no card is needed. The room was beautiful and welcoming, the toilet and shower room were separated. There is also a spa on the top floor. We went to live in Lyon on the day of the annual Lyon Festival of Lights, and on the weekend, the room price doubled several times than usual. It's easy to miss without paying attention. If the usual price to live is definitely possible. Holidays are definitely expensive. It is very convenient to visit and live in the old town. Self-driving is not suitable and I don't know where the car can be parked."

"Some places are simply unlike anything else, la Suite de l'Île Barbe is one of them. Tucked away on a small island in the middle of the Saône, it feels completely removed from the city despite being just minutes from Lyon. We stayed for a romantic weekend and it exceeded every expectation. The setting is extraordinary. Waking up surrounded by water and greenery, with nothing but birdsong and the gentle sound of the river, is something you won't find in a conventional hotel. It genuinely feels like you've escaped to another world."
