"The hotel is located on a mountain. In late April, the cherry blossoms at the foot of the mountain were in full bloom, but there was still some snow around the hotel. Lake Tazawa in spring, especially on a sunny day, is absolutely stunning; the water is a deep blue, just like the sea. We had great weather during our stay. Every morning after breakfast, we'd take the hotel's shuttle bus to Tazawa-ko Station to catch the Komachi Shinkansen to Kakunodate, Akita, and Morioka to see the cherry blossoms. In the afternoons, we'd take the Shinkansen back to Tazawa-ko Station, then the shuttle back to the hotel for dinner and a hot spring bath. The hotel service was excellent, and considering the price, the food was quite good too!"

"Second stay, and as good as ever! There are buses to Shin-Tamagawa Onsen from bus stop number 2 at Tazawako Station. Bus schedules vary in winter, so be sure to check the times! The hotel offers snow activities in winter, which require advance reservations. The hotel has several Chinese-speaking staff, which was very helpful for me as I don't speak English or Japanese. The hotel service was excellent! Breakfast and dinner were also quite good, with relatively healthy meals. The hotel's most unique feature is its acidic hot spring with a pH of 1.13. The hot spring pools are numerous and very clean, making it worth visiting multiple times."

"Very nice hotel and a comfortable stay. We didn’t try the restaurant but we enjoyed the lounge area with free drinks and icy-poles. Air conditioner/heater was very loud in the room we stayed in but apart from that, perfect. Staff are excellent and very helpful."

"If you have time to go to Tianze Lake, it is recommended to choose this one. The location is right by the lake. The windows of the lake room are very large. You can see the whole lake view and enter the eye. Don't want the beauty. It is just that the traffic is slightly inconvenient and you need to take the round-the-hu bus at Tamako JR Station to get there, but the beauty of the lake view can offset all the inconvenience. The French cuisine for dinner is very delicious and exquisite."

"As luxurious as one can expect. Beautiful place in a secluded natural environment with lavish service and delicious food. The bath are very well prepared and the staff is extremely kind and attentive. It is a hard ask but it would be nice to have some western options at breakfast. But of course this is a Japanese traditional inn yet these options would feel even more luxurious. Some of the decoration feels a bit either dated, kitsch or not being harmonious, I think they need a redesign of the furnitures are it looks more like an assemblage than a harmonious selection of decoration and furnitures. It’s a little on the weird side even sometimes! But the bedding is exceptional. You will have a great sleep at this stay!"

"I enjoyed the moment while staying here a lot, the price is so cheap compared to what I got, big room, dinner and breakfast, private bath and public bath access. I believe if you enjoy drinking Sake you will love the bar"

"This hot spring hotel is in a very good location, right by the lake. The owner gave us a room with a beautiful view of the lake. The hotel is quite decent, the facilities are not new, but they are very clean. The service is also very satisfactory, but it cannot be said to be very exquisite in details. The entrance to the room is relatively narrow, making it difficult to place suitcases. The hot spring is very good and very comfortable. Dinner was okay, but breakfast was a bit basic. I rode around Lake Tazawa for a week and found several hot spring hotels that were out of operation. It is probably due to the impact of the epidemic in the past few years, which has led to a reduction in market supply, while demand continues to recover. Therefore, it is obvious that the price of hot spring hotels in Japan is now higher than before the epidemic. It is at least twice as expensive, but the service quality is slightly lower than before the epidemic."
