Scenic Hotels in Monterey

"The hotel is located in the center of Monterey. The pick-up room was small, but it had coffee and snacks. We arrived at 12:30 and asked if we could leave our luggage. They offered to drive us to the 17-Mile Drive and Carmel-by-the-Sea. The front desk initially said there would be a $20 fee for early check-in, but since we asked to store our luggage, they probably thought it was too much trouble and agreed to let us check in early for free. The room had a microwave and refrigerator, a separate shower and toilet, and large windows. The only downside was the lack of an elevator; we had to carry our luggage to the second floor ourselves, though it wasn't too high. The hotel was quiet and safe. We were very satisfied. There was no one at the front desk when we checked out; we just dropped the key into a box similar to a mailbox."

"The location is very good. You can walk on the beach just outside. The room is large and the bathroom is spacious. It is convenient to have breakfast delivered to the room. However, there is a bit of a weird smell in the room."

"Perfect location & reception staff were lovely, however the room could’ve been so much cleaner, hairs were found in the toilet, on the bathroom floor, on the floor of the bedroom & on the bedside tables. The rooms were super noisy- we could hear everything from the room above. The stay was fine for one night but any longer the cleanliness would have to be improved on. A shame as it could be an amazing place. "

"Location on foot to Morro Rock. Booked room on the 3rd floor was very clean and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was sufficient and was prepared and taken care of a very friendly and charming staffer (Shelbi). The hotel is a perfect recommendation for this hotel. We will stay here anytime."

"The hotel in Monterey is really expensive, probably because it is the first stop of many self-driving highways 1, plus weekends, it costs almost 1,000 yuan to live in such a motel. There are various motels along the street where the hotel is located. This one is at the end of the street. Not far away is the shopping area, and driving to town is not far away. The hotel is an open space with free parking. No breakfast. The room is not big, the facilities and equipment are relatively old, and it has some taste. Fortunately, the windows can be opened for some ventilation. The air conditioner was very loud and noisy. It can only be said that there is no way to live in a store, the price is not very cost-effective."

"A gorgeous hotel on Cannery Row. The room was super big and comfortable. Yes, it's an old hotel with history, but everything was clean, and it had the best bed I've slept in during my month in the US. You just don't want to get out of it! The mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and there was a duvet cover – I was surprised, as I hadn't seen one anywhere else and thought they didn't know what it was here, but apparently, they do. The service was top-notch; they helped with luggage during check-in and check-out, and the ladies at reception were very responsive. Everything you need is in the room. The bathroom is spacious, the room is large and comfortable, and sleeping with the window open is a pure delight. The only downside is the showerhead – it's a plague in hotels! It's fixed to the wall and has very weak water pressure, which is a disaster. It's impossible to shower without getting your hair wet if you don't have a shower cap. And the hairdryer! That's just a tragedy for a hotel of this caliber. The hairdryer was like my grandma's, so old and weak. I practically burned all my hair with it. I called reception and asked for another one, but they said all rooms only have that type of hairdryer. I told them it was a tragedy, that it takes an hour to dry your hair, and I don't know what century it's from. The views from the hotel are amazing, with panoramic windows, and the restaurant is one of the best in the city. The location is 🔝."

"Friendly staff, solid location, decent WiFi and generally clean and has the basics down. Better for sightseeing than for those staying in, I think. Quick things to note: they don't allow late checkouts, just fyi, but otherwise you just drop your keys in a box to check out. The vending machines are also located in an open area, which is nice for when I visited but could become an issue if it's raining... The balconies are really nice, and the location is insanely convenient. It's about 10ish minutes to walk to the aquarium, and it's a block (or half, if you go out the back!) to the waterfront. There's solid food and sightseeing options here too. They do have a decent parking lot, but there's a ton you can see in Monterey by walking, and this hotel is perfect for a lot of those. What's missing here: a common dining area and breakfast, for one. Rooms aren't cramped but most furnishing is basic. Don't expect anything fancy, essentially. All that said, it's a solid choice if you're actually going out and sightseeing vs spending tons of time here. And if you do, they have some pretty nice patios and some rooms have balconies overlooking a trail."

The room is very small, but the bed is still very large 1.8m, the box is basically not moving, there is no table, there is no place to put some things. 6. There is no heating or air conditioning. California is still cold in early March. Her husband is still wearing a nightgown to sleep. The nightgown is very thick and has hairy inside. 7. Great breakfast is great, great choice, coffe or tea, orange juice, first baked bread, butter or honey kumquat sauce, husband selected smoked salmon, my choice of potato bacon omelet, They are delicious, and they are very good. On the 8.4-floor terrace, you can see a little sea and grow a lot of meat."
