This truly deserves its reputation as one of the world's top ten outdoor trekking routes. Its somewhat remote location and the rugged, 'poor mountains and perilous waters' terrain in no way detract from the highly internationalized and standardized design and comprehensive service of the entire local Bay Village guesthouses. The free parking lot is one of the best and largest, which is a huge plus in a cliffside village with a terraced layout. It's a convenient 5-minute walk from Halfway Guesthouse for dining and photo ops. This spot acts as a central point for the most scenic section of Tiger Leaping Gorge (Tea Horse - Halfway - Waterfall), making it ideal for checking in, resting, and preparing. During the off-season, the housekeeper generously upgraded us to a family room, allowing us to enjoy the largest space in the entire guesthouse, complete with a private outdoor terrace offering direct views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Although it's a village guesthouse, the cleanliness, no exaggeration, surpasses 99% of guesthouses in Lijiang's ancient towns. Coupled with the price, it's incredibly good value! P.S. I only recommend driving up the mountain road during the off-season. In peak season, you can't even imagine how many times you'd have to reverse on that short, 5km single-lane narrow road along the cliff edge to reach the village.

I had a fantastic stay at Half Day and not thing to complain. My room had a stunning view with cieling to floor windows. The location, to me, is just right, away from the crowds and other establishments (around Half Day). They do have a nearby restaurant but we decided to walk to Half Day for coffee and food anyway (beautiful shortcut into the forest). My 1 night stay was very peaceful and the lady owner was super helpful even though we could not speak Chinese. She tried to explain everything via translation option in Wechat. You can also buy drinks and snacks and instant noodles ar the guesthouse. We did not hike there but took a taxi from Lijiang direct to the hotel. It is quite convenient for those who decide not to hike. We still went hiking from the guesthouse to Tina's (5 km). If you don't want to hike back (same route), you can take a taxi back to hotel (arranged by Tina's or Half Day) at 100-120 RMB. Highly recommend for those who want to avoid the crowds.
