When you stay at The PoolResort OKINAWA in Onna, you'll be near the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Kariyushi Beach and Manza Park. This hotel is 6.2 mi (10 km) from Manza Beach and 21.8 mi (35.2 km) from Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. Take advantage of recreation opportunities such as a seasonal outdoor pool or take in the view from a terrace and a garden. Additional amenities at this hotel include complimentary wireless internet access, a television in a common area, and gas grills. Featured amenities include express check-out, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite. Make yourself at home in one of the 26 individually decorated guestrooms, featuring refrigerators and microwaves. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and flat-screen televisions are provided for your entertainment. Private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations feature deep soaking bathtubs and complimentary toiletries. Conveniences include desks and coffee/tea makers, and housekeeping is provided weekly.

"The hotel built around the pool is made of brick, while the other parts are large containers called chelet. The latter are very comfortable, large and functional. Ours had two queen-size beds and a mezzanine with three other beds where three children could fit. The bathroom, although small, lacked nothing. Very hot water, easily adjustable. There was also a sofa and a small table. The accessories included a washing machine and dryer, very convenient. The containers/chalets are painted in a nice way. The pool is really large and impeccably kept. The only negative note is the climb if you don't have a means of transport, which, especially with suitcases, is demanding. The staff is very helpful in everything."

XXiaoyadaochukankanI come to Okinawa almost every winter for vacation and have stayed at many ocean-view hotels here. Halekulani Okinawa stands out for both its significant strengths and weaknesses. **Pros:** (1) As a newly built hotel, the facilities are much newer than other hotels. The rooms even have smart tablets to conveniently book restaurants and check out various amenities. (2) Although the restaurant prices are noticeably higher than other hotels, the quality of both the buffet and à la carte restaurants, and even room service, is excellent and worth the price. (3) The service is very good. If you're taking public transportation when checking out, they'll even provide a car to take you to the station. (4) If you skip breakfast, you can change it to lunch, which is convenient for those who like to sleep in. **Cons:** This seems to be a common issue with Western hotel brands. Halekulani Okinawa, along with two other Hilton hotels here, shares the following problems. I believe this might stem from differences in Western brands' operational philosophies. However, for a hotel like Halekulani, which costs more than double other ocean-view hotels, these shortcomings are quite unacceptable. (1) The hotel lacks a well-stocked convenience store and souvenir shop. Other Japanese-owned ocean-view resort hotels usually have one or two such stores with a wide variety of items. Here, there's only one shop selling some Halekulani branded merchandise and a very limited selection of ”eco-friendly, natural” snacks, with hardly any beverages. If you want something to eat, you have to walk a few hundred meters outside the hotel to a chain convenience store. (2) The mini-bar drinks in the room are chargeable, and the prices are 4-5 times higher than at outside convenience stores. Considering this hotel is 2-3 times more expensive than others, and many other hotels often offer free mini-bars, this difference is quite significant. The main issue is the lack of an internal convenience store, forcing guests to frequently go out to a convenience store a few hundred meters away for a wider selection of drinks and snacks. Not to mention, it's truly unpleasant to go out when it's rainy or windy. For someone like me who enjoys staying at a comfortable and convenient hotel for several days or even a week, it's hard to stay long if a resort can't meet all my needs in one place. (3) The price for the self-service laundry and dryer (700/800 JPY) is also about three times higher than at other local ocean-view hotels (200/300 JPY). While the hotel's price is more than double that of others, the convenience and comfort aren't significantly higher (aside from newer facilities). Coupled with a mini-bar and self-service laundry that are several times more expensive, and the need to go outside to buy necessities due to the lack of an on-site convenience store, it feels like they're trying too hard to squeeze every penny. It's more suitable for a short, 'check-the-box' experience rather than a prolonged, relaxing stay. The quality of the seawater is also just average compared to hotels in Onna Village and Cape Zanpa.

TTK—Beware of HIDDEN COSTS for the indoor swimming pool, gym, onsen, and even the seats at the adult outdoor swimming pool. To me, this is pure robbery. I have never experienced this before in my life, even at other hotels in Japan. I understand there are sometimes fees for an onsen, but hotels normally give a discount or allow guests to use it once for free. This is why I gave 1 to amenities. There are two options for breakfast: Japanese or International. The Japanese breakfast was served in a bento box (one per person, with unlimited refills on rice and soup), but the fish was already a bit cold. I know they don’t want to keep their customers waiting, but there should be a way to keep the food warm. My advice is to always go with the international buffet unless you prefer to sit somewhere with fewer people. The room was great, soundproof, and well-equipped with everything you need, including a medium-sized bathtub. However, the view from my room was blocked by the pool and trees (this wouldn't be an issue if you are above the 5th or 6th floor). The hotel indeed looked pretty, but I found their beaches to be kind of mid compared to what I saw while driving around Okinawa.

WWENLIMHad the pleasure of staying at this property for four nights and was impressed by the overall quality of the experience. The hotel’s central location in Onna Okinawa is an advantage, providing easy access to shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. It serves as an excellent base for leisure travelers if you self drive. The room was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully equipped with a kitchen and washing machine, making it particularly convenient for longer stays. The layout was comfortable and functional, offering both relaxation and practicality. Breakfast was a highlight of the stay. The buffet spread was wide. The system of collecting a queue number before lining up was efficient and ensured a smooth dining experience. Evenings were made memorable by the hotel’s stunning sunset views. Watching the sky transition into vibrant hues from the property was a truly special experience that added to the charm of the stay. Overall, the hotel delivered on all fronts: location, comfort, amenities, and atmosphere. I would not hesitate to return and will certainly choose this property again on my next visit to Okinawa.

GGuest UserFirst time staying at a family-style apartment hotel! 1️⃣ Spacious, plenty of room for the kids to play, and the four adults and one child slept very well. 2️⃣ There's an IC stove, but no cookware, only bowls and plates, which is a bit of a shame. 3️⃣ The bathtub is large and has a massage function, perfect for when your feet are sore from walking. 4️⃣ There's a washing machine, but clothes need to be dried separately in the bathroom. 5️⃣ The breakfast included is a set menu with options to choose from; I personally recommend the curry rice, fruit cereal, and croissants. I would definitely stay at this hotel again! 😊

GGuest UserJust as you'd expect from a Hoshino Resort property. The place was spotless, and the amenities were excellent. Beyond the in-house cafe, the food trucks parked outside offered a great variety of dining options, giving guests more freedom of choice. My only slight surprise was finding a small insect in the room, but given the natural surroundings, it's probably unavoidable.

CcjessieThe hotel is new and clean overall. The breakfast is Chinese style, with a wide selection and decent taste. The jacuzzi in the room is great, and bath salts are readily available in the lobby. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have any other facilities besides the swimming pool. It cost over 2,000 yuan per night when I booked, which is on the expensive side.

DDuoerbamaI still vividly remember their 30th-anniversary celebration. Other than the outdated facilities, everything else was impeccable, especially the Executive Lounge – it was absolutely perfect! Great views, excellent food, and an even better atmosphere. I really hope the hotel renovates its facilities soon; it would be a shame to waste such a prime location!

GGuest UserThis is a traditional Japanese hotel and it's very clean overall. The large public bath is open until midnight. However, there aren't many restaurants nearby. The hotel has a small beach where many locals enjoy water activities. Overall, it's great, and I'd come back again. The price is also very reasonable, so I'm very satisfied! You can choose between a bed or a futon on tatami, but you can only pick one option, otherwise there's an extra charge. I didn't confirm the details with the hotel, but if you want to sleep on tatami, I recommend checking with the staff beforehand to see if both guests need to choose the same sleeping arrangement. The bed is also very large; two adults and one child can sleep comfortably without feeling cramped.

MMrChanSheraton Okinawa Sunmarina Resort is one of the best hotel and experience I had. The location is great which easy access to both north and south part of the island. Facilities are the best, especially the water activities. We tried almost all marine activities and all are great. Staff are wonderful and really helpful. They helped me from the day I book the hotel, marine activities arrangements, room service, and front desk. We definitely will come back to meet the great staff and hotel.

CC cowThe service was great! Every corner of the hotel room AND the bath area are squeakly clean. I could say that the bath area was even cleaner than most of people houses. The shower head power was incredibly strong, I could wash my hair 2x faster than normal showers! Parking area was huge and convenient. The bedroom was super cozy, the beds were comfy too but if you need extra spaces for maybe your family, theres extra futon for you to use (although you have to ask the counter and pay). Overall I really enjoyed staying over. I was suprised during my stay, there were barely any customers which made my bathing experience extra enjoyable.
