Komodo Hotels with Bars

I highly recommend this hotel. I think it's the best hotel on Komodo Island. They offer free airport shuttle service. On the day of our arrival, my child probably drank a glass of unclean orange juice and vomited and had diarrhea all over the sofa that night. The hotel picked us up and took us to the hospital early the next morning. When we returned, it was past breakfast time, but after we mentioned it to the staff, they brought breakfast directly to our room. The hotel didn't charge us any extra for any of this, not even a cleaning fee. I can only say that for a room rate of just over 2,000 yuan, we received hotel service worth over 5,000 yuan. The service is even better than the Ritz-Carlton Retreat in Bali. You can go for it without hesitation. Also, the food at that restaurant was pretty good. Although some people complained about the price, honestly, I've never seen cheap food at a five-star hotel. Isn't it all about convenience and comfort? I ordered lamb chops and fish, and both were delicious, especially the lamb chops – they were fantastic and suited to Chinese tastes! The bill came to about 500 RMB, which I think is acceptable. Also, I strongly advise everyone to buy bottled water. Some hotels provide bottled water, while others provide glass bottles. Try to drink less of the glass bottles, and definitely avoid water with ice – who knows what kind of water those ice cubes are made of? I really regret not discovering this hotel sooner! The hotel has a very quiet, Southeast Asian vibe. The service is also much better than hotels near the main tourist street. They offer yoga classes, morning Zumba on the beach, and even a diving club. I stayed at three different hotels in Labuan Bajo, and if I come back, this will be my top choice. The only thing to watch out for is mosquitoes in the room, but the front desk will provide mosquito coils if you ask.

I have to say, Crowne Plaza Labuan Bajo by IHG lives up to the Crowne Plaza brand's quality control. First, let's talk about the distance. It's 700 meters from the airport. If you don't have much luggage, you can walk; just exit the airport and turn right. However, if you call a taxi, for this short distance, they will charge you 100,000 IDR (approximately 37-43 RMB, depending on the exchange rate). Even if the hotel calls a taxi for you, it's 100,000 IDR everywhere you go. It feels like a complete rip-off. Next, the environment. The environment is excellent. There are no mosquitoes, and the bedding is clean. However, there are no windows that can be opened; it's a full floor-to-ceiling window, completely sealed. Downstairs is the pool, and the pool water is very clean. Then, the service awareness. The doorman who opens the car door for you will greet you and open the door, but when you check in at the front desk, no one helps you take your luggage upstairs. When they cleaned the room the next day, the bathrobes weren't replaced, and amenities like combs and toothbrushes weren't refilled. Finally, the dining. The breakfast is decent and suits a Chinese palate. However, the hotel only provides two bottles of water. You have to ask the front desk for more, but they will only give you two bottles at a time. You can ask for more unlimited times, but it's always just two bottles at a time. Other than that, it's quite good. I recommend a barbecue restaurant: The Smoke House Komodo | BBQ & Grill | Beer On Tap. The food is very good, but it's quite expensive, approximately 400-1000 RMB.

This was our second time staying at this hotel. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and spoke fluent English. They arranged an airport transfer for us when we inquired at the reception.

The stars are the staff - every time you meet them they are so warm and happy to greet you and talk with you. The location is of course next to the harbour and numerous bars and restaurants but is of course noisy at times. My stay was fine and reasonable value but the rooms (mine at least) really need the walls painting and new or cleaned net curtains. The other thing is the bed was very creaky with a lumpy mattress and a huge, heavy thick duvet for some reason! If they replaced the mattresses and changed to much lighter bedding I think it would improve customer experience. I had a reasonable harbour view from 3F. The restaurant on the roof terrace looks good and has a small shallow pool. I just had a drink there. The staff there were also excellent.

Pros: 1. The staff were incredibly enthusiastic and provided excellent service. 2. There's a private snorkeling area, which was a great experience, especially since we didn't book a liveaboard. Cons: 1. No internet, no internet, no internet! Apart from a few rooms on the hilltop, most rooms have extremely poor mobile signal (you can barely receive messages). WiFi is only available at the front desk. The management's excuse is that they ”don't want external noise to disturb guests,” but it's one thing if I have it and choose not to use it, and quite another if I need it and it's not available. If you need to stay consistently connected, this hotel is definitely not for you. 2. Prices are quite high. Since it's on a private island, a slight markup is understandable, but sometimes the prices are ridiculously high. For example, the hotel organized a beach buffet for 700k Indonesian Rupiah, which is about 300+ RMB after tax. The seafood options were only grilled shrimp, squid, and fish (the first two were served very slowly), and the only meat was grilled chicken skewers. In contrast, on the main island, we bought two large lobsters, two mantis shrimp as thick as a woman's arm, and even got two free squids, all for just over 700 RMB.

A really nice little hotel in Labuan Bajo. A bit out of the way of the town centre (10 minute drive or hofur walk), but Grab bikes are inexpensive and readily available. They organised a free airport pick up which was really handy and a great perk. Staff are really lovely and helpful. The outdoor space is lovely and the pool is also great. It could do with having someone clean it each morning to collect everything that falls from the trees but otherwise it was still a great facility. Our room was very quirky in its decoration but it was comfortable, clean and had hot water. They also have bag storage at reception which was very useful. Breakfast was a small buffet and was good. Good for a night or 2 before a boat trip to Komodo!

The staff were very helpful. I had booked a room before and after my Komodo cruise, and when I returned, my room was ready several hours before check-in, which was much appreciated. The rooms are clean, the AC works very well, and so does the WiFi, with a few minor glitches but nothing alarming. The restaurant is nice; some dishes are great, while others are just average. The hotel itself is very quiet, but the surrounding area is a bit less so, and some travelers can occasionally be disrespectful of others. The call to prayer and the roosters at 5 AM are a bit jarring, but for me, what matters most is the human interaction, and that was definitely a plus here.

An excellent hotel where everything is thoughtfully arranged for a comfortable stay. The rooms and the entire property were very clean and well-maintained — everything looked neat and pleasant. The water in the shower was always running well, and there was consistently hot water, which is especially appreciated after a long day. A special thanks to the staff: kind, smiling, and always ready to help — you can really feel that they care. We were especially impressed that they prepared breakfast earlier than usual for us because of our early tours — a small gesture, but it says a lot about their attention to guests. At night, it was quiet and peaceful, nothing disturbed our sleep, and the room had a cozy atmosphere. The grounds are beautiful and green, clearly well looked after. We were very satisfied with our stay and would gladly recommend this hotel to our friends. Truly well done!

The hotel is opposite the Sylvia Hotel. The rooms are in general sanitary condition. The room is on a hillside. The hotel is on a very steep slope. The roads and beaches are average. The breakfast is very simple. The conditions for a rowboat to play nearby are much worse than Sylvia, but the price is also cheaper. Generally, it is very good for people who travel in an adventure spirit.
