The hotel was incredible and very stylish. The room was absolutely amazing. The ammenities, the services were exceptional. Also the food and drinks were really high level. The staff was very professional. We really enjoyed our honeymoon there. The staff did the best to make it special and unforgettable. The only negative was the huge amount of sargassum at Maroma Beach. The hotel cleaned its beach side every morning and they did a really good job, however the neighbour hotel, Catalonia did not. I felt very sorry for their guests who had to smell all day long the rotten sargassum.

I stayed here on a solo diving trip. The facilities were simple and basic, but I was satisfied. The Wi-Fi was strong, so I could browse the web and do other things smoothly. The fan and air conditioner in the room worked well and kept me comfortable. There was also a water dispenser, which was convenient because I could fill up my own water bottle. All the staff were friendly, which was great.

It’s understandable, but it did get a little tiring at times. The hotel is directly on the beach, but the beachfront isn’t ideal for swimming since it’s very rocky and shallow. You need to walk about five minutes down to find a spot where you can comfortably swim. The overall vibe of the hotel is a bit outdated and cheesy — definitely a mixed crowd of younger people looking to party and older guests, giving it a bit of a “cruise ship” atmosphere. My husband and I had never done an all-inclusive before, and although we got an amazing deal, it’s probably not something we would repeat at this property. As for dining: • The buffet was solid — lots of choices, decent quality — I’d rate it a 7/10. • The two à la carte restaurants (that required reservations) were subpar, so we honestly preferred the buffet experience. • The sushi swim-up bar was a bit of a letdown; the sushi wasn’t great (but understandable given the location). Our only real disappointment was the hot tub — it was very tiny, difficult to find, far away from everything, and when we finally reached it on our last night, it was lukewarm and not fully functioning. Final thoughts: If you’re looking for a budget-friendly all-inclusive with great staff, decent food, and a nice view — this is a good choice. Just know it’s not super luxurious, and swimming directly in front of the hotel isn’t ideal. It’s located right in the heart of Playa where there are lots of partying going on, if you want that sort of scene. We’re glad we tried it, but we’ll probably explore other options and quieter locations next time.

This hotel is perfectly located on a block away from the main *****. You can hear the music carry over from nearby bars but that didn’t bother me, it’s expected in a location like this. Upon checking in they give you a tv remote and tell you not to move the thermostat. The AC was fixed to run all night and did not have an automatic feature, so it made for extremely cold nights. The reason I lowered the rating is the customer service. You are given only two towels and there was no hand towels at all. I tried calling the front desk but nobody answered the 6 times I called. I had to go down and grab one myself where I was asked to sign one out. No big deal. However, the following day housekeeping took this towel and never replaced it. I hope I don’t get charged for a small hand towel

We stayed at the Viva Azteca Hotel for 7 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we entered our room, the small gestures made for our anniversary made us very happy. All the staff members are smiling and doing their best to ensure you have a relaxing holiday. The resort has a perfect beach. However, the sea was very wavy and covered with sea plants. The food and evening shows were very good. There are plenty of places to visit around the hotel. It is also within walking distance to the 5th Avenue in the center. As a result, we had a wonderful holiday. Thank you Viva Azteca, you brought color to our lives.

Personally, the music sound from the bar did not inturrupt us because we are used to those noise. But if you need a quiet place to sleep, then the hotel would be the bad choice. They did not have a hair dryer so we should’ve dry hair with A/C🤣 There were some bugs like ants and mosquitos which freaked my partner. But “I” was satisfied about the hotel’s cleanness and in/exterior because it looked quite good. If you like bar, there is a good bar in front of the hotel and also a taco place. Overall, the experience in the hotel was quite good for me and the location was also so good because it’s so close(one block) from the 5th ave.

Would recommend it worth the price. Very central location, close to the main road and beach. The room was very spacious and clean. There was an issue with the water pressure at the beginning, but they sorted out in a couple of hours. The rooftop terrace is nice, the pool is not that big, and it was a bit dirty. Breakfast included is only one choice out of 4 dishes but tasty.

It is located in the most central location in the Praya del Carmen area. The beach is close, the bus is close, and the supermarket is close. If you are planning to travel to this area. There is no reason not to choose this hostel. step. I like to read books quietly. This hotel is not suitable for people with insomnia. The hotel is beautiful. The inner rooms are relatively quiet.

It was a magnificent hotel. The receptionists were very welcoming and very attentive to our needs. Our room was cleaned every day. It was splendid. The location is perfect, and the pool is very pleasant, neither too cold nor too hot. Perfect for the weather. I will use this hotel again if I return to Playa Del Carmen. The value for money is unbeatable in a location so close to the sea. I don't understand the negative comments about this hotel!  In short, a faultless one for us…
