The rooms and bathrooms are clean, and the hotel is close to the train station, making it convenient to go anywhere. The front desk staff was excellent. On our second stay, we felt our room was on a lower floor, and we requested a twin room. She diligently helped us find a new room and ultimately managed to switch us. She even proactively helped us move our luggage to the new room and gave us two complimentary drink vouchers for the bar, which we greatly appreciated. Additionally, there's a Chinese girl at the hotel's front desk who was very helpful. She told us where the supermarket was and the easiest way to get to the train station (just like someone else mentioned, definitely don't follow Google Maps, as it leads you over a big hill; following her directions was very convenient, no big hill climbing needed, you can take an elevator down). We are very grateful to her.

The hotel is at the center of Grassmarket street. Quite convenient to walk around if you ok with steps.

Great hotel in a fabulous location. Only a minute's walk to the well photographed picturesque Victoria Street and then a little bit further to the castle. The Grassmarket area is lively with bars and eateries and had a market on while we were there at the weekend. 

The hotel is very clean and well presented. The breakfast was amazing and had beautiful views out to the castle. The staff are all very helpful. Rooms are comfortable and warm. It didn't have a bar or restaurant, but it's sister hotel just 10 seconds walk away, had both these and a pool which guests could use. I highly recommend the hotel.

A brilliant stay at the Apex Temple over Christmas. 
Staff were very welcoming and professional, the rooms and the hotel were immaculate and the facilities were in great condition.

We stayed between the 23rd - 27th and were so thankful we tried this hotel as it really did make a difference during our time in London. After spending the day travelling and sightseeing throughout London the close proximity to everything really helped as well as the hotel being set back from the road. As soon as you step into the courtyard with the music playing, it's like stepping into a difference city entirely protected from the bustling city outside.

We ate at the restaurant once, I had the Shepherds Pie and it was delicious, same can be said for the room service breakfast which turned out to be a blessing as we missed the queue for breakfast out entirely.

We also used the gym facilities a couple of times, being a hotel there is limited options on weight ranges but with a little thought you can get a really good workout done.

The City King hotel room was large, and a great size for both of us, the only comment I would make is it needed potentially more table space and drawers and plug sockets on both sides of the bed, other than that, it was perfect. We were in room 349 which was a corner room, no issues there, just be prepared for a little bit of a walk as you get out of the lift.

Would definitely stay again and may even opt for a suite next time as I hear the views from the 4th/5th floor are amazing.

After spending 2 fantastic nights we would definitely stay here again. Our room was very comfortable and we are very happy with the excellent service, maintenance and cleanliness. The hotel staff was very attentive and friendly. The area in which the hotel was located is more than wonderful, close to Tower Hill station and just a few minutes from Tower Bridge. It was a wonderful weekend :)

Stayed for one night and couldn’t fault the location – literally a couple of minutes’ walk from the Roman Baths, Pump Rooms and everything else in the centre. Perfect for exploring Bath on foot.
The hotel itself is lovely: modern, spotless, with fantastic facilities. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful – I sent a message via feedback email for additional biscuits to find they had read the email and dropped them off. They clearly read and act on feedback, which makes a big difference.
Only downsides: the pillows are thick and puffy – if you prefer flatter pillows it’s worth requesting in advance. Also, parking is the typical city-centre headache: no on-site spaces, so you’re directed to the nearest public car park about 5-7 minutes’ walk away. Dropping bags means parking temporarily, unloading, then moving the car – and it added roughly £20 per day to the stay.
Overall, despite the pillow and parking niggles, I’d happily stay again. Excellent hotel in a perfect spot – just be aware of those two small drawbacks if they’d bother you. Highly recommended overall!
