"Before coming to Hongcun, I didn't have high expectations, thinking it would just be another old village to visit and leave. However, my stay at 'Hongcun Yike Homestay' made me feel that every detail of this trip radiated warmth. Upon arriving at Hongcun bus station, I was unfamiliar with the area and was stressing about how to drag my luggage across the stone-paved paths to the homestay while looking at a map. The moment I called, the owner's enthusiastic voice immediately put me at ease: 'Wait there, I'll be right over to pick you up!' In less than ten minutes, the owner appeared on an electric scooter, swiftly tied my luggage to the vehicle, and cheerfully motioned for me to hop on. We weaved through Hongcun's winding alleys and past bustling crowds of tourists. The homestay was tucked away in a quiet lane near Moon Pond, an excellent location. You could see Moon Pond just around the corner, yet it was peaceful and quiet – truly an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. Stepping into the courtyard, I was captivated by this homestay, a renovated Huizhou-style building. The exquisitely carved porch, wooden corridors, and rustic private courtyard exuded the unique elegance and serenity characteristic of Huizhou homes. Inside the room, it was bright and clean. The antique-style wooden bed paired with a soft mattress offered both classic charm and comfort. The night was exceptionally quiet, and I slept soundly. Early the next morning, I opened the window to a beautiful view of the Huizhou-style horse-head walls in the morning light, distant mountains draped in lush greenery, and the nearby sounds of birdsong and fragrant flowers. It truly felt like living inside a traditional Chinese ink wash painting. On the day of my departure, the owner drove me to the bus station as usual, reminding me of other places I hadn't visited in Hongcun along the way. Before saying goodbye, the owner pulled out a packet of chrysanthemum tea from the trunk, handed it to me, and smiled, saying, 'This is our local chrysanthemum tea, take it home and try it.' Holding that packet of tea, my heart felt warm. Staying here truly felt like returning to an old friend's home in Huizhou, thoughtful and considerate in every way. 'Yike Homestay' truly lives up to its name – making one feel 'at ease' (逸) and so content that guests (客) forget to leave. Next time I'm in Hongcun, I'll definitely stay here again."

Stepping inside feels like becoming one with the region's heritage. The lake view rooms offer expansive vistas, allowing you to take in the clear waters of South Lake and the surrounding Huizhou-style homes right from your window. It's incredibly convenient too; you can walk to the main attractions in just a few minutes, making it easy to capture stunning ancient-style photos. The staff are attentive and thoughtful, always responding promptly to any request with a gentle demeanor, and without any unnecessary interruptions. When visiting Hongcun, I highly recommend this hotel."

"Hygiene: Overall, it was excellent and very clean. Environment: I have to say, having such a large courtyard inside Hongcun is truly impressive. The courtyard is very well-maintained, and my mom absolutely loved it, taking tons of photos there – it’s very photogenic (Picture 3 shows a corner of the courtyard). Facilities: The only thing that I feel needs improvement during this stay is the air conditioning in the room (only for the room I stayed in). We visited during the plum rain season, so it was a bit stuffy and humid. Turning the AC up made it a bit too cold, but turning it down didn't seem to do much, although it was functional. I suggest it might need some maintenance or repair. Service: The service here was absolutely top-notch! The pick-up and drop-off were very prompt, and it’s very close to the West Gate parking lot. I paid 20 RMB for 24 hours of parking at the West Gate. The driver, though a man of few words, was truly wonderful. When he took us to the parking lot, he even drove his electric scooter to help us buy bamboo shoots because my mom loved them, haggled for us in the local dialect, and helped us pick out four really good ones! I usually don't spend time reviewing hotels and restaurants, but I just had to leave a good review for this driver! Additionally, the B&B is incredibly close to Moon Pond, just a few minutes' walk away, and about five or six minutes to South Lake (I walk quite fast). It's perfect for getting up early to grab a good spot for photos, as it gets quite crowded even by 7 AM now. Staying here gives you a big advantage for early morning photo ops. There are B&Bs around South Lake too, but I personally think they might not be as quiet as this one. Secondly, for food, I had both of my meals at the B&B, and the food was excellent, especially the stinky tofu. I've been to Anhui several times, and I've never had good stinky tofu until I ate it here – it was the best I've ever tasted (though not cheap). While the price was a bit on the higher side, we (two people) finished everything, which is better than paying for food you only eat a few bites of and waste. The rice was also very well-made; my mom, who is quite picky about food, ate a good amount. Plus, the restaurant faces the courtyard, offering a nice view, and dining is quiet and comfortable. Finally, the hand soap and toiletries were all quite good; my mom even found the toothbrush so comfortable that she took it home! 😅 This is definitely a B&B I would recommend to my friends."

"Excellent! Very close to the bus stop, the room was large and clean, breakfast included a selection of your favorite dishes, the restaurant downstairs was delicious, and it was very close to tourist attractions. They even gave us a gift and drove us to the bus stop when we left."

"I was instantly impressed upon entering! There's a lovely courtyard with a thoughtfully designed pond and beautiful plants, plus cute turtles. The building is an old house, and the screen wall and old main hall have so much character. The room type we booked was very spacious and comfortable, with a tatami area perfect for tea. We were three friends staying together, and the owner enthusiastically helped us with our luggage from outside the scenic area and even proactively offered extra disposable amenities. The location is also superb, right by Moon Pond, which was very convenient for night photography. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit!"

"Tachuan's autumn was made even more beautiful by this guesthouse. I searched on Ctrip for a long time, worried about hygiene issues, but this guesthouse really paid attention to details and was very clean. The moment I opened the door, the automatic welcoming ceremony from 'Xiao Ai' (smart speaker) was very touching. It's right at the entrance of Hongcun and the price is excellent value for money. The proprietress is very kind, and the young man who checked me in, Manager Xiao Wang, was extremely helpful with excellent service. From picking me up at the station to helping me find a car for my travels, he saved me the anxiety and exhaustion of not having a car in Hongcun. The prices were also reasonable. Anyone worried about drivers getting upset in Hongcun can completely entrust their needs to him. At the village entrance, he even used a small electric cart to help with my luggage. There are Hello e-bikes nearby, so you can go to Lucun early in the morning to watch the sunrise. Thank you for providing such a 'utopia' after my busy work. The hygiene was indeed top-notch!"

After just two days of our stay, I felt like a completely different person. This has been one of the most powerful and memorable experiences of my life. We also celebrated a birthday there, and upon my request for fresh flowers, the hotel staff went above and beyond — they created a stunning handmade bouquet for my beloved instead. "Location: The hotel is situated within the Xidi Scenic Area. Upon check-in, each room receives two complimentary adult tickets to Xidi, with each adult ticket allowing one child to enter for free. The tickets are valid for 3 days, meaning a family of two adults and two children staying here can enjoy free entry to the scenic area. Facilities: The hotel boasts excellent facilities. The bathroom amenities and bedding are of good quality, and the decor has a charming traditional aesthetic. The complimentary items provided, such as the peach wood comb, toiletries, towels, and cotton-linen slippers, are all of high quality. It feels like you're bringing home a lot of lovely souvenirs after just one stay! Service: The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming, always greeting guests with a smile and patiently resolving any issues. Breakfast is quite generous, and in the evenings, they even provide complimentary chilled mung bean soup and Bingfen (a local dessert) when you return to your room. Environment: The hotel is nestled amidst ancient architecture and traditional gardens. Staying here allows you to truly appreciate the distinctive black tiles, white walls, and blue bricks of Huizhou's ancient buildings. I only wish I could have stayed for a few more days!"

"I specifically came to Hongcun to relax and unwind, and choosing this guesthouse was absolutely the right decision. It's tucked away in an old village alley, right in the heart of the scenic area, making it incredibly convenient to get in and out of the park. It's just a short walk to the lakeside viewpoint. What surprised me most was how incredibly clean it was. The rooms, which are renovated from an old house, were spotless. They were well-ventilated, dry, and had no musty odors. Every corner was meticulously tidied, making my stay feel very safe and comfortable."

"Staying at Atour during my trip to Hongcun was such a breeze. First off, the location is unbeatable. It's right opposite the West Gate, just a few minutes' walk to Nanhu Lake, so you don't have to drag your luggage over cobbled streets. The bus station is right outside too, which is super convenient for getting to the high-speed rail station or Lucun village. The room was spotless, and both the mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable. As a member, I could even request a choice of 3 pillows to try, and I slept soundly until morning. The TV had screen casting, so watching shows in bed at night was a real treat. What I want to praise the most is the service. The young ladies at the front desk were incredibly thoughtful. They called in advance to ask about our arrival time and how we'd be getting there. When we arrived, they even gave us a handwritten guide with recommendations for good restaurants and the best times to take photos to avoid crowds. The breakfast included freshly cooked noodles with bamboo shoot and shredded pork topping, which was delicious. And if you arrive late, no worries – they offer complimentary late-night congee. All in all, it was a very comfortable stay with no complaints whatsoever. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit."
