"Opted for this large Huizhou-style guesthouse in Hongcun, and it was a great choice. Its location is super convenient, right near the South Gate of Hongcun. As soon as I arrived, someone from the hotel came out to help with my luggage, which was fantastic service. They also helped me get oriented by explaining the hotel's location on a map of Hongcun and pointed out must-see spots. They didn't leave until I was completely settled in. Following their recommendation, I immediately went to see the evening Fish Lantern show and the enchanting Moon Pond scenery."

You can enjoy the sunrise and sunset of South Lake without going out, and the beautiful scenery of clouds and clouds; Building 2 features a Huizhou style courtyard with a classic four water return pattern. "This guesthouse in Hongcun Scenic Area is absolutely wonderful! It has a simple yet elegant courtyard with a strong scholarly ambiance. The owner is incredibly friendly and kind, offering luggage pick-up and drop-off services throughout our stay. They also thoughtfully arranged for us to dine at excellent nearby restaurants for lunch and dinner. Upon checking in, we immediately headed to Wanxing Tower near the guesthouse for stinky mandarin fish and rice with vegetables, which, unfortunately, were quite bland. However, the design of Nanhu Guanyuan itself is very refined and tasteful, and the breakfast spread offers a great variety, perfect for a heartwarming and satisfying start to the day. The guesthouse is exceptionally close to the Nanhu and Yuezao attractions, making it easy to take leisurely strolls in the morning or evening and soak in the beautiful, misty江南 (Jiangnan) scenery. My trip to Hongcun in Anhui was truly delightful, and staying at Nanhu Guanyuan made it even more enjoyable. Plus, the scenic area's parking lot charges a maximum of only twenty yuan for both day and night, which is incredibly good value."

"The room matched the pictures perfectly, a great size for families of three or four. The owner's shuttle service was prompt and the guesthouse environment was lovely. A special thanks to the owner for retrieving my child's lost smartwatch from the restaurant – they even rode an electric scooter to get it back for us! 🙏 Hongcun itself is quite commercialized now. Activities like making fish lanterns, sugar figures, tie-dyeing, and bamboo carving offer a good experience for kids, but a one-day stay is generally sufficient. The fish lantern performance isn't on the same level as what you'd see in Chengkan, but the quiet morning in Hongcun is truly beautiful."

I feel like this is one of the more upscale hotels in the vicinity, haha! 😄 The only minor issue was the unstable hot water temperature during showers; hopefully, that can be improved."

"I booked the Hongcun Wanxinglou·Nanhupan Garden Homestay online. It's conveniently located right by the South Lake, near Hongcun's South Gate, making it easy to visit all the core attractions. The room was spacious and tidy, with a separate wet and dry bathroom that had no strange odors. They provided disposable toilet seat covers and decent quality toilet paper, as well as a full set of disposable amenities. The entire homestay has a charming rustic, antique vibe, and the room was very quiet. I was quite satisfied! Due to bad weather forecast for Huangshan the next two days, I canceled my subsequent plans and immediately extended my stay here for another night offline to enjoy a deeper exploration of Hongcun, hehe! The food here is also quite good, and both the owner and staff are very warm and enthusiastic. Recommended!"

"Hygiene: When checking out, the cleaner was making the bed, and I saw some dirty yellow stains inside the quilt. There was also a mouse repeller in the room, and I heard mice moving around in the ceiling at night. Facilities: The facilities are pretty standard for a village dwelling. The parking lot costs 20 RMB per day. After parking, you have to walk about 500 meters to the guesthouse's check-in hall, and then another 300 meters or so to the guesthouse after checking in, which is very inconvenient. Environment: It has an antique charm and is quiet outside. However, the soundproofing is poor; I could clearly hear my neighbor snoring at night, which is understandable for a wooden house. Service: There's a luggage cart service from the parking lot to the check-in hall (500 meters), but the path from the check-in hall to the guesthouse (300 meters) is very narrow, so you have to carry your own luggage."

"Had a fantastic stay! First off, the room was pretty soundproof, and the blackout curtains did their job perfectly, letting us sleep in until 8:30 AM. Plus, because of the rain, breakfast was thoughtfully extended until 11 AM, and they even offered a late-night congee service; you could get free congee at the dining hall after 9:30 PM, which was a real lifesaver on a rainy night. The front desk staff were all super attentive, friendly, and polite, and they even offered some helpful tips. The hotel is only a 10-minute walk from the West Gate of Hongcun Scenic Area, and you pass by lots of restaurants on the way, which is really convenient."
