It's in a beautiful old building, very well preserved and refurbished, and in a great location: in the Xidi old town, but a little bit more isolated, in the more quiet and less touristy area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very stylish, it even had a tiny annexed studio room with desk and interesting books with a good kettle and tea set available. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a very nice bathtub and heated toilet. Our host was super nice and helpful, he came to pick us up and dropped us at the bus station at the end of our stay. He's really friendly and gave us some nice tips on visiting the surrounding villages. He has a very cute dog and a cuddly cat :)
Only negative comment: the room's window is on the side of the main road, so you can hear all the cars passing by. But even then, a great stay!

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

GGuest UserMy stay at the Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel was a mix of delight and slight inconvenience. The hotel's interior is beautifully designed, featuring many artistic elements that create a unique and charming atmosphere. However, there were some small design issues that detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.
One issue was the bed frame, which was positioned in such a way that it was easy to accidentally knock into it. Additionally, the courtyard rooms, while picturesque, were not directly connected to the main building, requiring a short walk, which was less than ideal during rainy weather.
Furthermore, navigating the hotel involved quite a number of steps and uneven surfaces, which could be hazardous if one is not careful. Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel's overall ambiance and artistic flair made for a memorable stay. With a few adjustments, the Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel could truly shine as a top-notch destination.

GGuest UserThe B&B is located in the Hongcun Scenic Area, not far from the West Gate 2. There are many choices for eating nearby. You can also go out of the scenic area to eat opposite the bridge. The owner of the B&B is attentive and will drive a tricycle to the nearby Zhongzhou parking lot to pick us up. It is highly recommended to have a two-bedroom and one-living room type. The space is large and there is a large living room. It occupies the entire floor of a house in the B&B. The price is very high. Although the homestay is not in the core area, it is not far from Nanhu Lake, and it is very quiet at night, rests well, very satisfied, will recommend to friends and relatives.

AAnonymous UserThis is the best hotel experience I have experienced in these years. I went to Huangshan and passed by Hongcun to find a B&B that I thought was pretty good. It turned out to be such a treasure! There were two young girls waiting enthusiastically in the parking lot. They took the initiative to upgrade the room type in the off-season. Surprisingly, the food in the hotel's own restaurant tasted so good. The yellow beef was roasted with cumin. When the window was opened in the morning, the mountain view on the room terrace was filled with smoke. The entire hotel Everywhere I see the hotel owner’s careful and arbitrary arrangements, I will inadvertently pass by some Go boards, swings, book bars, etc. The public area is much larger than the place where I live. We had breakfast outdoors, and the fields outside were filled with golden rice. Growing up in the countryside, I haven’t seen such plump millet for a long time. I still walk around the fields casually. It is said that if the season is right, I can take people to catch fireflies. This treasure hotel is definitely cheap and good. It is very suitable for friends, parents and children, or alone to relax and nourish the mind. , we also met the beautiful and natural proprietress who chatted with us a lot. The man in science and engineering has limited writing skills. We will definitely stay here again next time!

TTaozijiang€This stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is perfect; it's super convenient for both nearby attractions and finding great food. The room was clean and cozy, and the bedding was so comfortable that I fell asleep the moment I hit the pillow. The bathroom was also completely odor-free. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, check-in was lightning fast, and they even thoughtfully recommended some fun places to visit nearby. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, all nutritious and delicious. The value for money is outstanding, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in the area!

In fact, the biggest advantage of this restaurant is its food, which is considered to be the best tasting one I have had in Hongcun. The stinky mandarin fish is tasty, the ham and steamed tofu are fresh, and the green beans are crisp. I asked the people at the neighboring tables and they all said they had eaten several meals here and it has a good reputation. The environment of the mansion is quite photogenic and is particularly suitable for travel photography. There is a small study, a small garden, birds singing, flowers blooming, and a cute little black cat. It has a lingering charm of a century of accumulation and is suitable for friends who pursue a literary and artistic style. There are also disadvantages. It is relatively expensive, you get what you pay for. In addition, there is no exhaust fan in the shower room, and it is impossible to install it in an old house. You will get used to it, and it will not affect the use much. Finally, I have to praise the proprietress for her hard work in picking up and dropping off customers, and for not trying to sell you things. GGippiThe property is located in the heart of Hongcun, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the historic village on foot. As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!

CChi Kwan BrainThe hotel is a brand new one. Once arrived, the hotel reception staff served with a warm smile and generously grant us free breakfast for 2 mornings. Hotel renovation looks well and the room facilities are all modern and high tech. I was particularly impressed with its WCPan which has an auto washing services for buttock. The bed linen and flooring are clean well. Environment nearby is beautiful village scene where we enjoy having a lesuire walk there. All in all, it is a very good hotel which can make you relax even you just stay in the hotel. Ha one more that is the restaurant next to the hotel where one may enjoy delicious Chinese meals. The staff there are also very nice. Eating there is just like having meals at home. I am sure I will stay in Vienna again when next time I go to huangshan.

GGuest UserThe most beautiful proprietress in Hongcun is not only beautiful, she also drives to and from the hotel herself. The service is meticulous and the accommodation environment is good. Although the soundproofing of the century-old wooden house is not good, everyone consciously goes to bed before ten o'clock. The village is very quiet. It was a two-day rest after coming down from Huangshan Mountain. It's great! Super five-star praise!
