"Good value overall. More spacious/private than some other capsule hotels. However, the design is a little bit deceptive because you do still have somebody on the other bunk (above or below you). You can hear absolutely everything that the other person does. In order to use the toilet as a capsule guest , you need to walk through the reception and use those in the hotel lobby. The only place to wash yourself is in the public bath of the hotel which is very small and closes at 9:00, even though checkout is at ten and some people will inevitably want to wash before they leave. The free bikes and free airport transfer are great."

"We had a wonderful stay at Portom International Hokkaido and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The hotel feels very new and modern, and everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The onsen was one of our favourite parts of the stay. It was beautifully designed, peaceful, and a great way to relax after a long day. We also appreciated having access to a well-equipped gym, which was spotless and had everything needed for a good workout. The room amenities were surprisingly comprehensive. It wasn’t just the usual toiletries—they even provided thoughtful extras like air freshener, onsen pj, actual pj, bedroom slippers which made the stay feel extra comfortable and convenient. Overall, the service, cleanliness, and quality of the facilities really stood out. Portom International Hokkaido made our trip even more enjoyable, and we’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and premium stay near the airport."

"Love this hotel. It was clean and easy to find. A bit near the train station, there’s a 7-11 right across the street, near the bus stop as well. Uber is like 1 minute away. Love the room amenities and toiletries."

"The hotel is easy to find. The receptionist was a very polite and well-mannered elderly gentleman who helped us check in, confirmed our airport transfer time, and reminded us of the precautions for using the hot springs. The room was indeed small and showed signs of age, but it was still clean and tidy. As a temporary accommodation, we were quite satisfied. There's an Aeon Mall just five minutes away, with a wide variety of goods at reasonable prices, much cheaper than at the airport."

"This hotel is located right inside the airport terminal, making both domestic and international check-ins and boarding incredibly convenient. There are tons of shops and restaurants too, so you can easily spend an afternoon exploring. If you're bored, you can even watch planes take off and land from the window. For travelers short on time, staying here definitely brings peace of mind."

"The hotel and its rooms are brand new. Although the bed isn't huge, it's perfectly adequate. The upside of a smaller bed is that it frees up more floor space. In a room of the same size, I had more room to walk around and easily fit my 26-inch suitcase without it getting in the way. It was very clean and comfortable, I really liked it. The hotel is conveniently located just a minute's walk from the JR station, and it's also very close to New Chitose Airport, only a 10-15 minute train ride away. There's a bus stop next to the hotel for trips to Lake Shikotsu, and about a 15-minute walk brings you to an Aeon store, which is more like a supermarket than a large department store. Right next door to the hotel is a library called MACHI Library @ Chitose. When I didn't feel like being alone in my room, I'd go there to sit. There were locals, students, mothers, and children – it felt very warm and inviting, and I really enjoyed being among people. The hotel front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. There are some great eateries in the surrounding neighborhood; just open Google Maps and explore! They're delicious and not overly crowded. The only downside was the price of the coin-operated washing machines. A single wash cost 2-3 times more than at other hotels I stayed at in Sapporo and Asahikawa. The dryer, however, wasn't more expensive than elsewhere. The soundproofing at this hotel is excellent. I didn't hear any noise and was able to sleep soundly even without earplugs. If I visit Chitose again, I would definitely choose this hotel."

"For Japan, the room wasn't small; it was actually pretty good. You could easily open two or three suitcases without any issues. For a 'pigeon-coop' hotel in Japan, you can't ask for much more. The lady at the front desk and a slightly plump guy were both very enthusiastic and had excellent attitudes. I went during a very sensitive time, and there were absolutely no problems. I'm not sure if they spoke Chinese or English, so I can't comment on that. The hotel is not far from the JR station, maybe a 10-minute walk. Breakfast is served at the izakaya next door, which was decent and filling, and they even offer airport transfers. If you need to go to the airport, this is definitely the place to book. Otherwise, if you're coming from Hakodate or some other remote place, it's quite a long journey, and if you miss your train, you might have to wait several hours for the next JR. Staying here in advance is the safest bet. The only minor drawback, if I had to name one, is that there aren't many shopping centers or entertainment options nearby, and it gets dark early. If you're flying home, you absolutely, positively must book this place!!"

"This was my second stay at this hotel. As usual, the hotel provided free transportation to New Chitose Airport and breakfast. Although the facilities are a bit old, they are well-maintained and clean. I will choose daiichi hotel again on my next trip to sapporo."

"Out of the three onsen hotels I stayed at in Lake Shikotsu, Suizantei, which is popular online and hard to book, was actually quite average with no scenic views from its onsen. Then there was the extremely overpriced Aigashiro, which was even worse – no service, no ambiance. Marukoma was my last stay and also the cheapest. Reviews online were mixed, but seeing it was a century-old onsen, I wanted to give it a try. Turns out, it was the only one of the three worth visiting. First, the onsen views are the best because of its elevated location. I wouldn't recommend the wild onsen as it's unmaintained and the water is very cold. However, the outdoor public onsen truly offers fantastic views and a great panorama. And the view from the public cafe is incredibly comfortable; just sitting there and daydreaming is a pure delight! The rooms are just for sleeping, small, and without a view, but the previous two hotels weren't any better. Dinner, I think, was decent for the price! The ingredients seemed fresh, and it wasn't as bad as some online reviews claimed! Overall, Lake Shikotsu is worth visiting, and Marukoma is worth experiencing! It's an old brand, and the service is quite good! When we checked in, we casually mentioned needing a taxi the next day, and at breakfast, a staff member came to ask if we needed help calling one! That was really heartwarming! No discrimination whatsoever! The private paid onsen is also good! It's not expensive and I recommend trying it out."

"About or less than 10 minutes walking distance from JR station. The hotel also nearby Aeon which less than 10 minutes walking distance. It's a quiet place. The hotel with onsen and shuttle bus to airport service. The shuttle bus service must be booked once you confirm the hotel booking because it is just a 8 persons van which will be running out fast. The breakfast is normal with Japanese and Western style. The toilet is a bit small but the room consider spaces for 2 guests with 2 big baggage. The hotel straightly check in time is 3pm. All guests are waiting in the lobby until 3pm to get the room key."
