"Everything was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and very quiet. The soba and ice cream were delicious! The location is perfect—close to the train station and many city attractions. The reception staff provided great service, and I was able to leave my luggage there after checking out."

"The location is super convenient, really close to both the train and bus stations. There's even a Daiso in the same building, though we didn't have time to check it out. The soundproofing could be a bit better; a few times we thought someone was knocking on our door, but it was probably just people walking by in the hallway. Our stay was pretty short, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the hotel's hot spring or read any of their manga (they had so many classics!). The room itself was huge, definitely the biggest we stayed in on this trip to Japan. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, and having restaurants nearby for dinner was a big plus."

"We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel and were really happy with our experience. One of the highlights was the public bath, which guests can use for free perfect for relaxing after a long day, especially after skiing. The room was clean, well-maintained, and they provide daily cleaning even for long-stay guests, which we truly appreciated. The staff at Celecton were exceptionally kind and helpful. We had a stressful situation when my boyfriend lost his phone during our ski activity, and one of the staff members who I believe was a part-time working student went above and beyond to help us. He even accompanied my boyfriend to return the car to the shared rental parking area. Without his help, we honestly wouldn’t have been able to return the car properly since I don’t have a Japanese phone number. We’re extremely grateful for his kindness and effort. Breakfast at the hotel is simple but sufficient, and for more options, there’s a Hotto Motto right beside the hotel, which is very convenient. Overall, this hotel offers great comfort, cleanliness, and outstanding service. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others."

"The hotel isn't far from JR Matsumoto Station. We arrived in the evening and unfortunately missed out on the complimentary happy hour drinks and ramen dinner. The room itself was very spacious, even featuring a sofa. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, was very clean, and the bathtub was perfect for a soak, complete with a small stool and bathing amenities. There's a large public bath in the hotel, which wasn't crowded. They even had a small fridge with mini ice pops, which were incredibly refreshing after a good soak. We didn't eat at the hotel. In the morning, we left our luggage at the front desk and walked to Matsumoto Castle. Since there were fewer cars and longer wait times for transport in the morning, we decided to walk, enjoying the city views along the way, and it wasn't too far. The most memorable aspect of this hotel for me was definitely the room size; thinking back to all the hotels I've stayed at in Japan, the guest rooms here were arguably the largest."

"The location of this hotel is perfect with many good restaurants nearby. The reception has two staff who could speak English sufficiently to answer my questions about travelling to Komikochi. Everything about the service was great except for the house keeping who did not make up the room properly. They just left the stack of new towels on the bed and took the soiled ones. The stay came with buffet breakfast which had both western and Japanese food options. I will return to stay if I visit this area again."

"Good hotel. Everything is simple, clean, and comfortable. There's a room with complimentary tea, not just any tea but high-quality green tea, available until 6 PM. At the front desk, you can get all necessities like disposable utensils, coffee, tea, and bathrobes. Guests have free access to the onsen, with separate times for men and women. The only thing to note is if you weigh more than 100kg and there are two of you, it's probably best not to book a semi-double bed. The air conditioning was quiet, and the window opened. The fridge, however, was quite weak at cooling. I would definitely stay here again; I liked it."

"The staff at this place alone deserve five stars. They were kind and very helpful. When we asked about laundry, they immediately directed us to a dry cleaner a few minutes away: ¥1000 (approx. €6) for washing and ¥400-600 (approx. €2-4) for drying. That's the convenient option, not the cheapest one; the one after the bridge is a bit further but more economical. That said, some honest notes about the room. Upon entering, there was a strong, stale, stuffy odor – not a great welcome. The heron-themed divider separating the entrance from the main room was completely covered in dust, absolutely caked with it. And when drying your hair, the dust flies everywhere and can trigger allergies. We aren't overly picky travelers, but for €193, you'd expect at least a thorough cleaning of the corners. It was clearly years of accumulated dust. Also, be careful with the mini-fridge; it freezes at setting 3 out of 7. The location is convenient. The staff's kindness really boosts the overall rating."

"My husband and I planned a trip to Kamikochi and stopped over in Matsumoto. The hotel is about an 8-minute walk from the station, which is quite convenient, but the nearest convenience store is also a four or five-minute walk away. The breakfast at the hotel was pretty good, the tempura was delicious, though the variety wasn't huge, so eating it for two consecutive days might get a bit boring. From 9:30 PM, they offer free ramen, which is a nice touch after a hot spring bath. The onsen also provides free ice cream, and in the morning, they have Yakult. The hotel is also quite clean. Highly recommend it!"

"Standard business hotel. It’s clean and simple. However, it looks and smells old. The hallway has a musty smell and the hotel bathroom smells of wet clothes that didn’t dry well. Front desk service is excellent as they went as far as calling my next hotel to help arrange for luggage delivery (usually front desk just accepts without questions). In addition, they speak decent English. The hotel also provides free shuttle to an offsite onsen although I didn’t have a chance to make use of it."

"I highly recommend this onsen hotel, ranked among the top 30 in all of Japan, to anyone visiting Matsumoto! The room views, hot springs, food, and service are all impeccable. Having stayed at many Japanese onsen hotels, this one truly offers excellent value for money. Service: The hotel is a 20-minute drive from JR Station and provides a shuttle service. When you arrive at Matsumoto Station, you can leave your luggage at the ACE Hotel, part of the same group, freeing you up to explore. ACE then delivers your luggage to Shoho by 4 PM, which is a very thoughtful arrangement. The front desk service is warm and friendly. A gentleman named Ito helped us book a restaurant in Ise for the next day, making several calls until he finally secured a reservation, for which we are very grateful 🙏. Ambiance: The 56-square-meter mountain-view room is spacious and comfortable, with views of a small town nestled beneath snow-capped mountains right outside the window. The sunrise and sunset are absolutely beautiful. The large public baths on both sides offer unique scenic experiences and are both worth trying, especially the snow mountain view bath, which provides expansive vistas. Facilities: The room is very well-maintained and fully equipped. The hotel also has a souvenir shop, and complimentary drinks are available in the afternoon. Dining: The half-board plan includes a multi-course kaiseki dinner and a buffet breakfast. The variety is extensive, the food is delicious, and it's well worth the price. If you opt not to include meals, there's a ramen restaurant in the hotel, catering to various budgets."
