"Everything was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and very quiet. The soba and ice cream were delicious! The location is perfect—close to the train station and many city attractions. The reception staff provided great service, and I was able to leave my luggage there after checking out."

"I recently stayed at Hotel M Matsumoto and had a wonderful experience. One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its excellent location. It is conveniently located near Matsumoto Station, making it easy to travel around the city and visit nearby attractions. There are also plenty of cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores within walking distance. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. I booked a private room, which offered much more space than a typical sleeping pod or capsule hotel. I was able to comfortably open my luggage, organize my belongings, and move around without feeling cramped. The room was also very quiet, allowing me to rest well after a long day of traveling and sightseeing. One of my favorite features of the hotel was the large public bath. It was a great place to relax and unwind after exploring the city. Although the hours for female guests were somewhat limited, I still really enjoyed having access to this facility. The common area was also very comfortable and well-maintained. Guests can borrow a wide selection of manga for free, which was a nice touch. Another great benefit is the complimentary bicycle rental service, allowing guests to use bicycles for up to three hours free of charge. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend Hotel M Matsumoto to anyone planning to visit Matsumoto. The combination of its convenient location, comfortable rooms, excellent facilities, and friendly staff makes it a great choice for travelers."

"We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel and were really happy with our experience. One of the highlights was the public bath, which guests can use for free perfect for relaxing after a long day, especially after skiing. The room was clean, well-maintained, and they provide daily cleaning even for long-stay guests, which we truly appreciated. The staff at Celecton were exceptionally kind and helpful. We had a stressful situation when my boyfriend lost his phone during our ski activity, and one of the staff members who I believe was a part-time working student went above and beyond to help us. He even accompanied my boyfriend to return the car to the shared rental parking area. Without his help, we honestly wouldn’t have been able to return the car properly since I don’t have a Japanese phone number. We’re extremely grateful for his kindness and effort. Breakfast at the hotel is simple but sufficient, and for more options, there’s a Hotto Motto right beside the hotel, which is very convenient. Overall, this hotel offers great comfort, cleanliness, and outstanding service. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others."

"The hotel isn't far from JR Matsumoto Station. We arrived in the evening and unfortunately missed out on the complimentary happy hour drinks and ramen dinner. The room itself was very spacious, even featuring a sofa. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, was very clean, and the bathtub was perfect for a soak, complete with a small stool and bathing amenities. There's a large public bath in the hotel, which wasn't crowded. They even had a small fridge with mini ice pops, which were incredibly refreshing after a good soak. We didn't eat at the hotel. In the morning, we left our luggage at the front desk and walked to Matsumoto Castle. Since there were fewer cars and longer wait times for transport in the morning, we decided to walk, enjoying the city views along the way, and it wasn't too far. The most memorable aspect of this hotel for me was definitely the room size; thinking back to all the hotels I've stayed at in Japan, the guest rooms here were arguably the largest."

"Standard business hotel. It’s clean and simple. However, it looks and smells old. The hallway has a musty smell and the hotel bathroom smells of wet clothes that didn’t dry well. Front desk service is excellent as they went as far as calling my next hotel to help arrange for luggage delivery (usually front desk just accepts without questions). In addition, they speak decent English. The hotel also provides free shuttle to an offsite onsen although I didn’t have a chance to make use of it."

"Hotel Trend Matsumoto is a good choice for travelers looking for a convenient and affordable stay. The hotel is well located, with easy access to nearby attractions. Parking is available behind the hotel, about a 200-meter walk from the property. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the reasonable room rates make it a great value for money"

"We managed to stay in Annex room and the room is newly renovated and very comfortable. The most impressive one was they provide nice green tea/houjicha and the hotel lounge was really comfortable. Another good thing is they provide a very good local breakfast, the restaurant staffs were friendly and warm. Hotel provides parking with a fee of ¥900 if not mistaken."

"Location - requires abit of walking from the train station, it is not the worst compared to other Onyado/Dormy Inns and was manageable for us. (The worst in my opinion, is the one at Sendai. The one in Kanazawa would require a taxi/bus ride from main JR station.) Reception staff - service attitude differs. In general, they do try their best. Some elude warmth and it reminds me of how Japan was before it was crowded with tourists. 1 or 2 individual younger staff look at tourists and our bags with an expression that seems like a combination of exasperation and derision, and that made me feel uncomfortable. Different Onyado(s) has different rules, this one does not require us to pass locker keys to the front desk which is great. All Onyado(s) tend to have this odd layout in the rooms whereby the TV is NOT aligned with our beds. We ended up not using the TV! I appreciate how this Onyado took note of my request for more pillows and they were ready in the room when I got there. (See picture - pillows in black bags.) The extra pillows are extremely essential because Onyado/Dormy Inn pillows tend to be extremely flat & provides little/no support. Breakfast spread was a little disappointing - there was very little fresh seafood (e.g. no mentaiko). Beef was too overcooked and the drink machine ran out of oolong tea the night before and was still not replenished at breakfast. Across the different Onyado(s)/Dormy Inns I have stayed at, breakfast at this one can be skipped."

"The hotel located in good location, with walking distance to the city center area where you can find shops, restaurants, or even Matsumoto Castle. Parking lot provided with fees but it’s quite convenient. The most favorite from this hotel is there’re plenty of amenities – shampoo, conditioner, shower gel from a lot of brands that you can select by yourself at the lobby."

"I highly recommend this onsen hotel, ranked among the top 30 in all of Japan, to anyone visiting Matsumoto! The room views, hot springs, food, and service are all impeccable. Having stayed at many Japanese onsen hotels, this one truly offers excellent value for money. Service: The hotel is a 20-minute drive from JR Station and provides a shuttle service. When you arrive at Matsumoto Station, you can leave your luggage at the ACE Hotel, part of the same group, freeing you up to explore. ACE then delivers your luggage to Shoho by 4 PM, which is a very thoughtful arrangement. The front desk service is warm and friendly. A gentleman named Ito helped us book a restaurant in Ise for the next day, making several calls until he finally secured a reservation, for which we are very grateful 🙏. Ambiance: The 56-square-meter mountain-view room is spacious and comfortable, with views of a small town nestled beneath snow-capped mountains right outside the window. The sunrise and sunset are absolutely beautiful. The large public baths on both sides offer unique scenic experiences and are both worth trying, especially the snow mountain view bath, which provides expansive vistas. Facilities: The room is very well-maintained and fully equipped. The hotel also has a souvenir shop, and complimentary drinks are available in the afternoon. Dining: The half-board plan includes a multi-course kaiseki dinner and a buffet breakfast. The variety is extensive, the food is delicious, and it's well worth the price. If you opt not to include meals, there's a ramen restaurant in the hotel, catering to various budgets."
