"The hotel hallway had a really strong, unpleasant odor. Based on the smell, I'd guess it was due to mold on the walls that they tried to cover up with a fresh coat of paint. The mixture of the moldy smell and the fresh paint fumes was just unbearable. The only upside is its proximity to the airport. I definitely wouldn't have booked this place if I wasn't catching an early flight; I'd rather pay more than stay in a moldy, freshly painted hotel."

For the price, even in a first-tier city like Shenzhen, you could find a well-equipped, clean, conveniently located, and reasonably spacious hotel near the airport. But here, you're stuck with an incredibly cramped room; I even struggled to find space for a small suitcase. Plus, the bathroom doesn't have a separate shower and toilet area, which is really inconvenient – you even have to put the toilet paper roll on a shelf. And the bed wasn't particularly comfortable; when I looked closely, I could see that the duvet wasn't clean. Thankfully, it was just an overnight layover, and I left early in the morning, so I guess it's fine."

The Sama-Sama Hotel, a 5-star property, has been around for a long time and its facilities are a bit dated, while other airport hotels have rooms that are too small. For travelers transiting through Kuala Lumpur or needing an overnight stay, I highly recommend the ibis Styles Sepang KLIA – it's excellent! When I first saw the 4.4 rating on Trip.com, I didn't have high expectations, thinking the facilities would be very ordinary. However, my actual stay completely exceeded them, offering a surprisingly great experience! This hotel, newly opened in 2024, is exceptionally well-maintained. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the overall design is resort-style, with lush greenery everywhere. Upon entering, you're greeted by a fresh, botanical scent, completely devoid of the usual oppressive and stuffy feeling of typical airport hotels 🍃. There’s a wide selection of room types. Solo travelers can choose a standard king or twin room, with 26㎡ of spacious, uncrowded comfort. Couples or friends can upgrade to a Superior room, and for families, the Family room with one king and one single bed can accommodate up to three people. There's also a windowless Deluxe King room, perfect for those just needing a temporary stopover and planning to rest indoors during the day. Accessible rooms are also available for guests with mobility needs. Each room is equipped with a mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, a separate shower and bathroom, and a safe. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, perfectly adequate for daily living and work. The amenities are top-notch. There's a large outdoor infinity pool with a shallow kids' area, complete with loungers and parasols – it's incredibly relaxing to soak in the pool and watch the sunset in the evening. The only major drawback is the rather poor soundproofing. You can clearly hear guests walking and talking in the hallway, and noises from adjacent rooms. Coupled with the roar of planes taking off and landing, light sleepers can easily be woken up in the middle of the night. The location is incredibly convenient, just 1 km from KLIA airport. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to and from the airport with fixed schedules; remember to register and book at the front desk before check-in. It's a 5-minute drive to Mitsui Outlet Park, so you can stop by for some shopping during your layover. Overall, this hotel is ideal for travelers needing an overnight airport stay. It's half the price of the 5-star Sama-Sama KLIA in the same area, yet its hardware, environment, and amenities are more modern and comprehensive, making for a great transit experience 👍."

"The room is great, and there's a big supermarket nearby, which is perfect for travelers on their way back home. If you rented a car at the airport, it's not far to take a taxi here after returning it. The only tricky part is finding the room, so it's best to contact them in advance."

"I keep sending 5 stars because one person at the front desk is nice and competent. I was so disgusted though when I picked up my passport from the shelf today to find that the cover was molded from just being in the room. They have serious mold issues. One room smelled like a cabbage took a ****. The housekeeping solution was air freshener instead of finding the cause and correcting it. The best room had no bad smell, but clothes I never wore had spots of mold. You can see the plaster bubbling in the halls and around the room. Most of the reception staff uses their phones in speaker mode without an earpiece, so you hear it echoing down the halls. Their off-site manager calls and threatens their salaries and work/immigration status, and everyone hears that, too. The female reception is extremely loud and flirty with old men who behave inappropriately. You need ear plugs. Most of the families are Muslim, and they lock the children out of the room to be intimate. You hear them running up and down the halls. This morning I was woken up by a small child knocking on my door and running off like it was a game. I saw Al Zain try to scam a Chinese man charging 91rm for his 18rm meal today if I hadn't stepped in and covered his bill. I was so disappointed because I ate their every day for 5 weeks. But there are many restaurants in the area so choose better."

"This is the second time that we have stayed at this hotel. Our first room was a double room and our second stay was for 2 single rooms. Both times the stays were great and I would recommend to other travellers looking for somewhere close to the airport to stay for a layover. The breakfast is great and has variety for both western and Asian tastes. The restaurant meal was really tasty in the evening. We will definitely use this hotel again if we are looking for somewhere to stay overnight close to the airport."
