"The hotel’s location is very strategic, making it convenient for getting around Istanbul. The staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the breakfast is truly excellent with a very good selection. The only downside during my stay was that the room had an unpleasant smell. I stayed in Room 415, and although I tried running hot water in both the sink and the shower, the odor did not go away. I hope the management can address this issue, as it would greatly improve the overall experience and help maintain the hotel’s good reputation."

"The location is perfect, right behind the blue mosque, just that upon check in, the reception ask us to wait for them to finish their dinner only proceed with the check in, this is my first time ever met this kind of check in service. Other than that still good. Breakfast never change, my 5 nights staying end up breakfast elsewhere. Anyhow, it’s a good place to stay though"

An Experience Worth Remembering Location & Access Situated in the heart of the city’s historic core, this hotel makes exploration effortless. From here, it’s just a short walk to the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet, and several key transport links. The setting feels authentic and lively; ideal for guests who want proximity without sacrificing comfort. Room 3219 – Exceptional Comfort The room offered a superb balance of functionality and elegance. It was impeccably clean, featuring plush bedding, perfect lighting for reading or work, and a surprisingly quiet HVAC system, a rarity in city hotels. Small details, like the scent of fresh linen and a spotless bathroom, reinforced the sense of care behind the housekeeping standards. Service & Staff The staff are the heartbeat of this property. Every interaction, from check-in to checkout, reflected professionalism anchored in genuine warmth. They anticipated needs before being asked, making the experience feel personal rather than procedural. This consistency across teams’ front desk, dining, and housekeeping speaks volumes about the culture of service within the hotel. Dining Experience Breakfast was both indulgent and efficient. The buffet selection was diverse, featuring beautifully presented dishes that catered to both international and local palates. The staff handled the morning rush with grace and precision, maintaining quality and attentiveness without any sense of haste. Facilities & Ambience Public areas were spotless and aesthetically cohesive. The fitness and spa areas were well-maintained, creating a serene environment ideal for unwinding after long days in the city. The lounge and lobby were comfortable enough to double as workspaces, a feature that frequent travelers will appreciate. The One Minor Quirk I noticed some early-morning noise, mostly the seagulls, a distant metro vibration, and a faint scratchy sound around 6 a.m. While this didn’t detract from the overall stay, it’s worth noting for lighter sleepers. It’s a subtle reminder that even in the most refined settings, Istanbul’s energy has its own morning rhythm. Final Thoughts What defines the Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Old City isn’t just its luxury—it’s the consistency of experience. Every aspect feels considered and intentional. Having stayed at countless hotels across Europe, the Middle East, and North America, it’s rare to find one that strikes this balance of local charm and international polish. I often recommend property to colleagues who travel as frequently as I do, and this one has already made it to the top of that list. It leaves one wondering: how might the experience differ in another season, on a higher floor, or in one of the suites overlooking the skyline? "The room was clean and well-appointed. The staff were exceptionally courteous and proactively offered to help with our luggage. A supermarket is conveniently located directly across the street for stocking up on essentials. Complimentary instant coffee and black tea are provided daily in the room. The location is also quite convenient for exploring various attractions."

"I really liked this hotel. The room wasn't big, but it was cozy and had all the amenities. It was quite quiet at night. A huge plus is the tram stop right outside the hotel. You can take this tram to all the main attractions in Istanbul without getting stuck in traffic. The hotel staff are very responsive and always try to help with any issues. I'd like to specifically mention the restaurant. Although the breakfasts were the same every day, they were quite varied. Both adults and children found plenty to eat. The restaurant staff were very friendly. Special thanks to Erguvan (very friendly and with a wonderful smile), Dinger, and the Russian-speaking lady (unfortunately, I don't know her name). In the evenings, there are places nearby to go out for dinner, even outside the hotel. There's also a shop nearby. I definitely recommend it."

"The in-room air conditioning needs to be manually activated at the front desk, including temperature and time settings. Some staff members are incredibly helpful, friendly, and willing to assist, while others are rather aloof. The shower pressure is extremely weak, the water isn't warm enough, and it constantly leaks onto the bathroom floor outside the shower. My friend, staying in another room, reported decent water pressure but also significant leakage. The 6th-floor rooftop, which offers good views, was closed for maintenance and inaccessible. This place is only suitable for those who are particularly curious about or have a strong fondness for hostels."

"Booked this hotel because it's a short walk to Chora Church and Tekfur Palace, and indeed, both were easily accessible on foot. My room was on the first floor facing the street. While the windows were of good quality, the noise from pedestrians and traffic didn't quiet down until late into the night. The service was excellent; even though there was no elevator to my floor, my luggage was still carried for me. The breakfast quality was also satisfying. You can take the tram from the road facing the river by purchasing tickets from the self-service machine."

"We had a fantastic three-day stay at this hotel in December with my parents. The location is excellent: within walking distance of the main attractions, and although it’s situated near the Grand Bazaar, it’s surprisingly quiet. The hotel is very clean, and we were kindly upgraded to a Triple Deluxe room after the air conditioner in our original room wasn’t strong enough. The upgraded room was spacious, bright, and spotless. We chose to have dinner at the hotel restaurant every evening because the food quality was outstanding, and Ozgur took wonderful care of us throughout our stay. Having access to the spa included in the price was an amazing bonus. Our daily routine was perfect — sightseeing until around 8–8:30 pm, relaxing at the spa until 10 pm, and then enjoying dinner at the restaurant with a breathtaking Bosphorus view until midnight. It was incredibly relaxing. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant view is truly stunning. We especially appreciated that on our first night, when we arrived at the restaurant close to midnight, we were still able to order a full meal without any issue. Overall, a truly memorable and relaxing stay — we would happily return and have already recommended the hotel to friends"

"This hotel is wonderfully quiet, and the staff are all highly professional. I originally booked a two-night stay, but since I slept so soundly here, I extended my stay for one more night instead of choosing a hotel near the airport. Even though this added some extra time to my journey to catch the flight, I think it was well worth it. There are express buses nearby, providing convenient transportation to wherever you want to go."

"Nice clean hotel with lovely helpful staff, especially the maid service is excellent and the rooms are cleaned daily and given fresh towels, accessories , tea , water etc, only let down was the bathroom wash basin sink was the smallest ever seen lol. The breakfast is boring and is pretty much the same every morning and no hot food is served, There is hot soup, tea and coffee. However the hotel is great value for money and is in a great location to lots of shops and cafes and restaurants."
