Cheap Hotels in Istanbul

"The big plus of the hotel is the view from the window (see photo), as well as the polite staff. There are many questions about the rest. This is a hotel without long corridors, that is, all the rooms are located near the stairs, so you can hear everyone going up and down. There are gaps in the doors, so whether there is a door or not is very noisy. By 9 o'clock cleaning begins, the vacuum cleaner makes noise. You will also hear this clearly. I was saved by headphones, I slept in them all 4 nights. The sheets were in pellets, but upon request they were immediately replaced. The bathroom is clean and relatively recently renovated, but the room as a whole is very tired"

"An excellent hotel for both family and business trips to Istanbul. The location is superb! It's within walking distance to attractions, public transport, shops, and the waterfront. The hotel service is beyond amazing. The staff are wonderful and welcoming. We were able to check in early upon arrival. We asked for a stroller for our child, and they provided it without any issues. Breakfasts are delicious and varied. We also had dinner there, and it was simply outstanding! The taste of the food, the views, and the service were all top-notch! Special thanks for the best room with an amazing view. We will definitely be back again!"

"This was our second stay at this hotel. Among all the options, Galatahan stood out for its location, breakfast availability, and price. It's part of a mini-hotel association, and the staff are pleasant. Regarding the downsides, we had requested a room away from the elevator, but we were given one right next to it. In the mornings, guests waiting for the elevator would chat, and it was quite audible. However, the view compensated for everything. So, if you're an early riser, room 41 might suit you. But there were a few things that could be improved: 1) There was no shelf in the bathroom, only traces that one used to be there… it was inconvenient to place toiletries on the edge of the sink. 2) The hairdryer was on its last legs – the cap was broken, it rattled, and it overheated… I was worried it would burn my hair. 3) On our last day, it rained, and water dripped from the window, soaking my foot (which meant my last clean sock before my flight was ruined). 4) The pillow had split into two large lumps. 5) The TV remote stopped working, so we had to turn on the TV using the button on the set itself. If these minor issues don't bother you, and you're looking for an affordable place with breakfast and a good location, then go for it. Many hotels in Istanbul are in a similar condition unless you're opting for a heavy luxury suite."

"The hotel is extremely clean compared to other 5 star hotels in Turkey. The staff at reception. Together with Staff in the restaurant , concierge and the bell boy were all extremely helpful and polite. Always ready to help. The restaurant dinner and breakfast was absolutely fantastic 👌. The hotel is very well located. It is a 15 minutes walk to Hagia Sofia, Bascillica Cistern, Blue Mosque. 7 mins walk to Grand Bazaar . The interior of the hotel looks magnificent with the old style charm but all newly renovated. I would highly recommended this hotel to stay in Istanbul. 😀😃😄"

"I stayed at this airport hotel near Sabiha Gökçen for an expensive pric. While the location is convenient and the room was generally clean, there were several operational issues that should be addressed. Upon check-in, the shower pipe in my room was faulty. The staff promptly arranged for a technician, which I appreciate. However, this indicates that rooms may not be thoroughly checked before guest arrival. A simple pre-check process could prevent such inconvenience. There were also no facial tissues provided in either the room or bathroom. This is a very basic amenity that most travelers expect, particularly at this price level. In addition, the hotel does not offer a coin laundry facility. For an airport hotel that likely serves transit guests, this would be a highly practical addition. The staff were responsive when contacted, and I appreciated the availability of slippers in the room. However, improving basic quality control and ensuring essential amenities are consistently provided would significantly enhance the guest experience. I hope this feedback is helpful for future improvements."

"The hotel’s location and cleanliness were very good. However, the housekeeping staff did not change the bed sheets during my stay, and the rooms could be cleaned more thoroughly. The sound insulation between rooms is not very good, and you can easily hear noise from neighboring rooms. Overall, the stay was pleasant, but there is definitely room for improvement in housekeeping and soundproofing."

"Great location! It's about a 7-8 minute walk from Taksim Metro Station, with no steep hills, and there's a SOK supermarket nearby. It must have been pretty empty because they gave me a suite with two king-size beds, which was a pleasant surprise! The underfloor heating was incredibly powerful – a bit too much for a southerner like me, so I had to turn on the AC. Since it's not facing the street, it's relatively quiet. The staff were also very friendly."

"Spending the night in a store was awesome 😀 Actually, there are a lot of boutiques in that area, and it's common for wholesalers to have hotels right in the same buildings as the stores. That was cool. Lots of replicas are sold nearby at really low prices—that's a plus! And you can walk to the most beautiful places in Istanbul. The room had Russian channels. The breakfast was okay. Overall, it was good! I can't think of any downsides."

"The room design is quite unique and the lighting creates a nice ambiance ✨, but the facilities are noticeably old. The bathroom corners were moldy and the floor drain had accumulated grime. The bedding wasn't clean either; overall, the cleanliness wasn't up to par. However, the front desk service was excellent; they proactively helped resolve issues 👍, which was a real plus. The stay itself was just okay, but the warm human touch made up for it."

"The hotel's location is really convenient, right off Taksim Avenue, but it's tucked away in an alley, so getting a taxi can be a bit tricky – something to keep in mind. The staff are quite friendly and communication in English was smooth."
