"I stayed here alone and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location is a little far from the city center, so you will probably need to use Yandex to get around. One thing to keep in mind is that it can be difficult to find a Yandex taxi early in the morning. I recommend asking the front desk to arrange a taxi in advance. I paid 80,000 som from the hotel to the train station. Also, the hotel does not have a currency exchange service. The nearest option is the Hilton Regency across the street, but it takes around 30 minutes to walk there. One small thing to note is that there was no toothbrush in the room, so I had to ask the front desk for one. Overall, I had a comfortable stay and would recommend this hotel, especially if you don’t mind using taxis to get around."

"Amazing stay at Classic Hotel Samarkand! The room was very clean, comfortable, and all the furniture and facilities felt brand new. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the 24-hour front desk was very convenient, especially for late arrivals or early departures. Very recommended!! Everything was well-maintained and made our stay in Samarkand very comfortable. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Samarkand — definitely a place worth staying at!"

"I had a pleasant stay at Meridian Plaza Hotel. The location, facilities, and overall amenities were excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were a few housekeeping issues that could be improved. On one occasion, the trash in the bathroom was not emptied during room cleaning, and a cleaning cloth was accidentally left hanging on the door handle after housekeeping service. While these were minor issues, paying closer attention to housekeeping details would make the guest experience even better. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would consider staying here again."

"The hotel front desk service was excellent. I believe the gentleman named AMAZIGEN (not sure if I spelled that correctly) was the best; he helped me call and notify local clients, which I genuinely appreciate. Of course, the other staff members were also great, and the hotel's chef prepared breakfast every day. Overall, it was a very good experience."

"The best part of this hotel is its location: It is especially close to Hazrat Khizr mosque and Shah I Zinda, but is truly walking distance to all the main attractions in Samarkand. The room itself was fairly nice and new, but the supplied amenities felt a bit cheap - instead of bottled water, you get water in sealed plastic cups. The shampoo comes in very small 10ml bottles and there is no shower gel, just bar soap. Also, the housekeeping was very non-thorough. Even though I explicitly requested for my room to be cleaned, I came back to the room to find a half emptied rubbish bin (Why can’t they empty the whole thing?) and my hairs still on the floor of the toilet. There was a decent spread at breakfast and the taste was okay. The hotel staff are all quite nice but some of them may not speak English so well."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location is excellent, with a bank, shops, supermarket, and cafes nearby, as well as a public transport stop. The rooms were clean and beautiful. Housekeeping cleaned daily, changed towels, and replenished toiletries. Two bottles of water were provided in our room every day. We booked with breakfast, and it was all delicious. When we checked out early, they even gave us a very generous lunch box, which we ate on the train, complete with cutlery and napkins. We stayed in room 203 on the second floor, and I was pleased that the air conditioner wasn't directly above the bed but in the hallway, so it didn't blow on us and was practically silent. The staff are very polite and speak Russian; they're always ready to explain and assist with anything you need. I was also happy that there was no outside street noise or sounds from neighbors in the room."

"The hotel is located within a park, quite a distance from the train station, about a 30-minute taxi ride away. The surroundings are spacious and quiet. Breakfast starts at 7 AM and offers a wide variety of delicious options. During my stay, I even encountered a tour group of Chinese visitors. The room had central heating, which made it so warm that I had to open the window at night to ventilate. Upon check-in, there was a mix-up; after we swiped our key card and entered the room, we found a young Russian girl already occupying it – she must have gotten quite a fright! We quickly exited and went back to the front desk to sort it out. They promptly moved us to the adjacent room and sent up a fruit platter as an apology. For solo female travelers, it's always important to keep your door locked at all times! 😂"

"My friend and I stayed at the Iskandar Hotel in Samarkand, and overall, it left a very pleasant impression. The hotel is new, clean, and cozy. The rooms are compact, but very nicely and stylishly decorated. I must make a special mention of the paintings and the tiles in the bathroom—you can really feel the national character of Samarkand and Uzbekistan; everything is done with great taste. On the downside, the shower drain didn't work very well, although the water didn't overflow onto the bathroom floor. Also, some kind of pump or other equipment would occasionally turn on during the day—about every 20 minutes. It was a bit noisy, but at night it was very quiet, as our windows faced the courtyard. The courtyard itself is nice and features a photo zone where you can take some great pictures. I also want to highlight the spa area, which has a large pool and a jacuzzi. Unfortunately, the sauna and hammam were not working. During the day, spa access costs 500,000 UZS per hour, and you can only use the area for free from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This was a bit confusing and disappointing, as we really wanted to relax in the spa during the day between our travels. Overall, it's a good, modern, and beautiful hotel with a pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast was quite decent. If they fix the shower drainage issue and make the spa area more accessible for guests, the experience would be almost perfect. The hotel left us with good impressions, but certain aspects of guest management could use some improvement."

"More like an Uzbekistan family Homestay experience than a hostel. Made friends with the girls that I stayed in the same room with :) Walking distance (20 mins) to Registan Square. They have a cute puppy called Charlie 🐶 who loves petting and is super friendly. Owner is super kind and helpful too (he speaks good English), he worked up to help me get a Taxi at 3am as my Yandex Go (e-hailing) app is not working 🥲 I would say, to manage expectations as it would be an experience where you live in a local family home instead of a luxurious accommodation."

"The hotel is quite new, everything feels fresh, the location is excellent, and the breakfast is perfectly adequate. The room is spacious. However, the service 'lags significantly.' It's clear there's a lack of proper management: laundry services aren't set up, the phone in the room is useless, the TV isn't connected to channels, the shower partition isn't sealed properly, so you end up in a puddle after showering, and so on. I hope the staff quickly rectifies these shortcomings and hires an experienced manager, as all these minor inconveniences detract from the overall impression of the hotel."
