GGuest UserPoor quality Wi-Fi, couldn’t work as kept bugging out. Gluten/dairy free options for breakfast limited. Picked hotel for pool for the family but everytime we went there it was fully occupied. Should be able to book or limit people’s time in there to allow others to use facilities, family were very disappointed

MM547925****The location is excellent, directly opposite Newcastle train station. The day before, I stayed at the Hampton next door. The price increased significantly the next day, so I moved to this one, which had a stable price. However, it was really bad, and I advise my fellow countrymen to be cautious about staying here. The room itself matched the merchant's photos. The bathroom was generally spacious, but there was a significant waste of space. It shouldn't have been designed like this after a renovation. I've never seen such a ridiculously designed sink; the faucet is too close to the basin, so simply washing your hands causes water to spill all over the floor. There's also no floor drain in the bathroom, so we had to cover the entire floor with towels. Also, a £50 deposit is required upon check-in, authorized via credit card. Other hotels usually release it immediately upon checkout. I specifically asked when checking out, and they said it would take 'a few days.' I don't understand why. I waited a week and it still wasn't refunded. After Ctrip customer service intervened, it was immediately refunded. Truly outrageous. Personally, I think as long as the Hampton by Hilton next door isn't more than 50% more expensive, I'd still recommend staying at the Hampton. It has better facilities, includes breakfast, and the service is better. Don't come here to be annoyed.

GGuest UserThe hotel was clean, well-equipped, and quite spacious, which I really liked. The breakfast spread was also very generous. It's just a few minutes' walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient. Very satisfied.

GGuest UserI stayed due to having an early morning appointment at The Freeman Hospital. The hotel is about 12 minutes walk from West Jesmond Metro Station and the walk from the hotel to the hospital took me 30 minutes in the snow, so probably 10 minutes less on a more normal day - 5 minutes by taxi probably. I am very impressed given that the hotel is billed as just a 2 star one. I would guess that the lack of a 3rd star will be largely down to there not being lifts, not to my second floor room in the main building anyway - potentially a deal-breake, especially if your visit is Freeman related. My room was every bit as comfortable as a Premier Inn one for example and in it's cheerful contemporary way a lot more attractively decorated. I stayed on 4th Jannuary - and the temperature was -5 outside ! The room was a bit chilly when I arrived but a good fan heater had already been put in there to supplement the normal central heating. It was not the hotel's fault that the shower room was never brilliantly warm! The shower was excellent though and the room was very well equipped. I did not try the breakfast; £13.50. Staff were helpful. I'll stay there again and not just for going to the hospital!

GGuest UserI booked this for my Grandaughter and I to attend an appointment in Newcastle at 1.30pm and also a concert in the evening at the arena. Arriving well before check in at 3pm, the receptionist kindly allowed us to park in the hotel car park thus enabling us not to have to move the car from the metro station opposite later. This was a great help- thankyou. We checked in after our appointment and got our key for room 23. It was nice and cosy with the heating on and extremely clean. I did struggle to turn off the cold tap fully in the bathroom but my Grandaughter sorted it...maybe needs some attention from a professional. After getting changed, we headed back up town on the metro where we enjoyed seeing Rick Astley. It was quite late when we returned hungry but the hotel was fine with us ordering a McDonald's delivery from Kingston Park. All in all with breakfast included in the price, we had a super time. Cheers!

GGuest UserGood location with free parking and about a 15-minute walk to the city centre. The price is reasonable and includes a breakfast box for each guest. The experience could have been better if the room facilities were maintained and cleaned to a higher standard.

SSamalexiGreat location, nice little room, it's listed as an apartment but I wouldn't say it's big enough to be considered one. My only problem with the room was the cleanliness, the walls and floors had a lot of marks and dirt, same with the curtains. It made the trip slightly less comfortable. It could have also done with Aircon as it was very warm. To sum up - Pros - Great location, comfortable bed, mini kitchen with kettle, fridge and tea & coffee provided. Even some biscuits too. The price was great for a Saturday night during a big Newcastle event we spent £55 which was way cheaper than most other hotels in the area. Cons - wasn't very clean and the check in was a little awkward as our keys wouldn't work. If this was improved my rating would be a lot higher.
