If you go to Chongzuo, and price is not a barrier, the LUX Resort is the only one worth considering—offering the best views, service, food, and amenities in the region. From the moment you arrive, it is clear that this resort sets itself apart through thoughtful design, exceptional hospitality, and a deep respect for both nature and guests.
We stayed in rooms 1301 and 1302, both king-size bed rooms with what I believe are among the best views in the entire resort. Waking up to the dramatic karst landscape and tranquil surroundings was unforgettable, and the rooms themselves were spacious, elegant, and perfectly maintained.
The dining experience was outstanding, both at breakfast and dinner. Breakfast featured a high-quality buffet with premium ingredients and a wide variety of options, while dinner from the à la carte menu was equally impressive in execution and flavor. Special recognition must go to the service staff—凌海艳、农汶燕、邓桂姣—whose attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism elevated every meal. Their service was genuinely memorable.
On our first evening, Chef Long (龙大厨) personally came out to greet us, which was a wonderful and thoughtful touch. One dish in particular stood out: the handmade tofu pot. Using such a simple ingredient, the dish was surprisingly delicate, tender, and deeply flavorful—an excellent example of how great technique can transform humble ingredients into something exceptional.
The spa and relaxation experience was equally seamless. 农丽芳, from the spa service team near the common relaxation area, thoughtfully arranged a battery car service for us, making transitions around the resort smooth and effortless.
Overall, the LUX Chongzuo Resort delivers excellence on every level—accommodation, views, cuisine, service, and amenities. It is not just a place to stay, but a destination in itself. If you are seeking the best Chongzuo has to offer, LUX is truly in a class of its own.

MM11176****On the first night, we stayed in the 270-degree view room. My family was thoroughly impressed by everything: the room's size, its cleanliness, the breathtaking view, and the delicious dinner. Had our experience been limited to just that first night, it would undoubtedly be a five-star review.
Because we were so pleased, my family decided to extend our stay for another night. However, as our original room was already booked, we opted for a different room type – a twin room. The twin room's ambiance was still quite pleasant. Unfortunately, due to loud noises coming from next door, my mother couldn't get any rest all night. We thought it was the air conditioning unit, but the owner said it was the refrigerator. Whatever the source, the result was a sleepless night for her. Also, there was a visible cobweb above the light fixture, which the owner promptly cleaned after we pointed it out.
Overall, our experience was positive, but I sincerely hope the guesthouse owner can enhance their service by proactively addressing and resolving issues before guests even notice them.

The hotel owner, Shaowei was there to help us in every possible way. She brought us to see the panoramic view of Mingshi Tianyuan with her own expenses. She also took us to another place to watch native people’s dance, sing and bonfire after dinner. She also helped me to catch a local bus to another town. Her kindness was simply beyond my expectations. If I come back to Mingshi, the reason will be not the town itself, but Shaowei.
2. Flawless cleanness
Everything looked to be built just now. Clean, comfortable and tidy. No smell of cigarette or whatsoever.
3. Decent breakfast
Breakfast is simple but the taste is good. You can enjoy rice noodle, rice porridge and fruits with good tea and soy milk.
4. Great location
The hotel is located close to the bus station and you can get on any local bus passing by easily. Good restaurants are everywhere nearby as well.

WWandianbuchiyexiaoHighly recommend! It's just a few hundred meters from the waterfall! There's also a Vietnamese market nearby that's worth checking out! The room facilities are very complete, especially the lake-view rooms! Absolutely beautiful! The proprietress is super nice! You can have breakfast and lunch on the first floor! I suggest eating downstairs instead of at the scenic spot, as it's tastier and the portions are generous! They also have Vietnamese specialties on the first floor! I compared prices, and it's a bit more expensive inside the scenic area!!! Parking is very convenient! Choose this place, choose it!

RrachelmeetsworldI stayed here for 2 nights and it was exactly what I was looking for. My room had a panoramic window view of the mountains outside, and the hotel roof terrace is really nice too! Clean bathroom and western toilet.
It was a great location for the Mingshi Scenic Area, and about 45 min drive from the Detian Waterfall area. The hotel helped me arrange a driver to take me to Detian and were very friendly.
There are several local restaurants around to eat at, plus a Vietnamese coffee shop just 5 minutes walk away.
Only downside is the walls are pretty thin and you can hear other people. But overall, it was clean, a good price, and convenient for my travels in Mingshi.

GGuest UserThe hotel is perfectly situated within the Mingshi Garden Scenic Area. Apparently, there are only three accommodations here: this lodge, and the Mingshi Villa (which boasts its own pool and is just across a small road from the lodge). The surrounding environment is excellent, offering a private feel amidst rolling mountains. Compared to nearby guesthouses, this is a more dependable option if you're seeking a reliable stay. Yulinba Weir is just a 3-minute walk away, and bicycles are available for rent to explore. Before check-in, a dedicated staff member thoughtfully provides a map, hotel information, shuttle service details, and even information about the evening bonfire parties. You can also enjoy a scenic breakfast with beautiful views. On days with good visibility, electric carts are available for rent at the entrance (around 30 per hour); I recommend renting one to tour the entire Mingshi area.
However, the drawbacks are quite apparent. The hotel rooms are rather dated, though styled in the local Zhuang ethnic tradition. The toiletries provided are very basic, so bringing your own is advisable. The books piled on the table had a stale smell, and the room itself carried a similar mustiness. I had to use mosquito repellent; being a two-story building in a relatively humid area, mosquitoes were quite prevalent. Furthermore, the food was quite average. For instance, grilled sausages for breakfast seemed to disappear quickly if you didn't arrive early, sometimes leaving only a couple of slices of bread. If the internal quality and offerings could be improved, I would gladly pay more to stay here.

MMaitland GroomStay here! You can stay at the park gate. Drive up to it at night. Sleep here. He’ll go get your tickets in the morning for you and then you can be in the park at 8:30. You’ll arrive right as the people who have to bus in arrive but if you’re not in a group you can get ahead of everyone and enjoy the park and be on your way around noon

GGuest UserThe hotel is a little far from Chongzuo but you can hire a Didi for about 380RMB from the chongzuo train station. The hotel is located in a beautiful park where you can take a walk and see the 100 doors (I think it was called) and walk all the way to the border post 3. It's was surreal. Across the river you can see Vietnamese house and people. we waved. a drone showed up we left. To go to the waterfall we walked from the hotel to the tourist center. About a 45 minute walk. Not bad once you get there.
The hotel is old and starting to show the tear. You can tell it was once great but no renovations have been made in forever. The carpet had stains on it. not tiny ones. The little mini balcony was dusty. The bed was big but on the hard side. The towels are frazzling it was unbelievable. The breakfast , if you are not full on on Chinese breakfast its a no no. AND no coffee EVEN though the COFFEE MACHINE looked like it had just been plugged off. sign sating being fixed. come on .It's a 4 diamond rating but it felt more like 2. It's also smaller than it links in the video and pics. There's an awesome restaurant at the entrance on the right. It made a whole lotta difference. Highly reccomend eating here. And we did!Twice. Food was not bad. definitely order the ribs. The staff is nice especially the restaurant lady.
