YexilanI went to Xiangshawan with my kids and compared a few hotels. The other three were all-inclusive, but since my kids are older, they'd have to pay extra, and they weren't really interested in the activities at Xiansha Island, so I chose this one instead.
We drove to the Hualian Tourist Resort reception center to check in. After getting our wristbands and handing over our luggage to the staff, we took Cable Car No. 3 to the island. I added the butler on WeChat and contacted them after getting off the cable car to arrange a shuttle. The jeep shuttle drove quite fast, which the kids loved. They said our luggage would take 2-3 hours to arrive, but it actually came about half an hour after we got to our room.
Because I left a note when booking asking for a quiet room, we were assigned to Zone 3, which is quite far away. It was a bit of a walk in and out. I noticed most guests around us had kids; some played late into the night, others woke up early to play, so I guess no matter where you stay, it won't be perfectly quiet. The room facilities were pretty good, and the space was quite large. The bathroom was very similar to those in Japanese hotels. There was a wooden drying rack, which many people moved outside their doors to air-dry their swimsuits overnight.
The service was excellent. The WeChat butler answered all my questions promptly. The only issue was the light and noise affecting sleep; it was as bright as midday at 6 AM. Luckily, I had brought my own eye mask and earplugs.

A fantastic stay from start to finish! The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. What really made the experience special was the host’s kindness and generosity.
The young man went out of his way to drive me to different locations, making it much easier to explore the area. He also cooked delicious food, which was a real highlight of my stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and he was always friendly, welcoming, and eager to help.
His hospitality made me feel right at home, and I truly appreciated all the effort he put into making my visit enjoyable. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The hotel was great, very clean, and they even provided milk and bread rolls. It's about a 30-minute drive from Xiangshawan Desert. The breakfast was a bit limited, but overall it was excellent.

Guest User[”The room was meticulously cleaned, and the bedding was so soft I slept incredibly soundly. The front desk was super responsive, and it offers amazing value for money. I'll definitely stay here again next time.”,”The location is absolutely fantastic! It's just a few minutes' walk to the commercial district. The soundproofing is excellent, and the breakfast selection is diverse. Overall, it exceeded my expectations.”,”King of value for money! The facilities are new with no musty smell, and the toiletries are high quality. My stay was incredibly comfortable. What's even better is that they have EV charging stations – I didn't expect that, and it was truly the cherry on top for my trip!!!!!”]

mcmasonAwesome place for families. Family yurt was ideal and the Hero show was fantastic. The other shows and kids activities were also great. Beware limited eating choices but those there are decent enough. Ice cream and Dico’s available at the activities area. Also note you need to pay to get into the scenic area and activities/shows. We paid 268 per adult including 12 activities/shows. Kids under 1.3m are free. Oh and free to use washer/dryer was a godsend.

Guest UserWhat a fantastic stay! To find a place like this in the desert – so clean, convenient, and with genuinely friendly and generous staff – it's truly a hidden gem! The hotel front desk sells attraction tickets at a great price, which really enhances the experience. After the scenic area closes, it's essentially like having the whole place to yourself; you can go wherever you want and have the entire desert all to yourself. In the evenings, they even organize trips deeper into the desert to stargaze and take photos! It's also pet-friendly, and my dog absolutely loved playing in the sand! When the water heater broke in the middle of the night, a staff member came right up, fixed it in no time, and even replaced the showerhead with a new one. Their efficiency and service attitude definitely deserve a five-star rating! Highly recommend!

23 Degrees Desert B&B – A hidden gem in the Kubuqi Desert, worth visiting countless times! To be precise, it's called 'Nansha Tourist Resort'.
This time, I stayed in a yurt compound, and as soon as I entered, I was amazed by the fruit trees in the courtyard. There was an apricot tree right outside our room, and in the morning, when I opened the door, the sunlight cast the tree's shadow on the mud wall. That quiet and gentle scene still feels so healing when I recall it. It was only a little over 200 yuan a night during the May Day holiday, and although the room facilities were simple, the value for money was truly exceptional.
The biggest surprise was the Moshang Horse Ranch next door! It was my first time riding a horse in the desert. The instructor saw I was nervous and thoughtfully held the reins for me the entire time. At first, when my feet left the ground, I was both scared and excited. My butt hurt from the bumpy fast walk, but when we started galloping, I slowly found my rhythm. The wind whistled past my ears, and the sunset gradually sank beyond the sand dunes. At that moment, I felt: life is truly worth living!
The instructors were not only professional but also very witty, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Everyone at the B&B was super enthusiastic. There's a paid pick-up service from the station to the B&B, which is inexpensive and surprisingly uses a luxury van. Plus, someone specifically picks up and drops off for each activity, so you don't have to worry about a thing.
Behind the B&B, there's also a private desert area owned by the boss, undisturbed by tourists! You can freely use the sandboards right outside the restaurant. The restaurant's pork spine, yogurt cake, and yellow tomato beef brisket are all delicious. The ATV off-road vehicle prices are also very reasonable; I recommend spending at least half a day tearing around there. Besides horses, there are also camels, sheep, and cats! While eating, I saw many people driving their own cars with their dogs, and in the morning, I even saw foreigners heading back. It's an undiscovered gem that hasn't gone viral yet!
Natural scenery and an immersive experience – this trip had it all. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the desert and avoid crowds.

Having stayed in so many hotels, this is the first time I can't help but comment that this is the only hotel in the scenic area. It looks good based on the price, but only those who have stayed there know.
1. The receptionist was very enthusiastic and took my luggage on his own initiative. My first impression was quite good.
As soon as I moved in, I discovered that the air conditioner was roaring loudly, the toilet button required skill - if you pressed it incorrectly the water would just keep flowing, and the sink drain was half-blocked, so after using it you had to wait for the water to flow out before you could use it again. There was a male waiter at the front desk with a bad attitude. I booked a family room for four people, and there were only two 335ml bottles of water in it. I asked for four more bottles, but he said it would be charged. This is the first time I heard that hotels charge for mineral water! The one point deducted from the service was by the male receptionist! The cleaning staff has a better attitude than the male waiter at the front desk! However, the fireworks show during the May Day holiday is still a plus!

Guest UserIt's worth taking your children to punch in the desert homestay! Children soak in the sand pool all day to dig in the sand to play, completely liberating parents. Children can also experience the sand-washing gentle route of off-road vehicles, and the safety is very high.
At night, the stars gave the children science and the galaxy, and set off small fireworks. The children were excited all night. The sanitation of the homestay is very careful, there is no dust from the sky, the toiletries are complete, and the food tastes homely and delicious.
The boss takes care of the children, provides small toys intimately, the comfort of the accommodation is online, and the tiredness of playing during the day is particularly stable at night. A relaxing and comfortable short trip for parents and children, and will bring the family back in the future.
