Pet friendly Hotels in Pu'er

Having seen many reviews about the poor hygiene, inadequate service, and lack of facilities at guesthouses in Jingmai Mountain, I had already lowered my expectations. However, the actual experience exceeded my expectations. They had all the disposable toiletries that hotels usually provide. The owners were incredibly kind, cooking free rice noodles for everyone every morning and inviting guests for tea. In the evenings, they would knock on the door and bring freshly grilled pork belly – it smelled amazing and was incredibly delicious! The guesthouse's location was also fantastic; you could see the sea of ​​clouds right from the window, and it was very quiet at night. It was truly excellent value for money. The owners also sell tea, and I bought some to bring back as gifts for my family before leaving – the prices were very reasonable. Superb!

This is the first time we came to Pu’Er and we feel very lucky to have booked this accommodation. We As soon as we entered the property we were welcomed and invites to tea by our wonderful hosts. Even though we cannot speak much Chinese, our hosts showed imense patience and understanding. They offered us advice for travelling, shared different types of tea with us and we received a lot of smiles 😀 The room was beautiful with a lot of wooden elements, large balcony and the spacious bed had the perfect hardness to have a proper good night sleep. It was also very clean, no mosquitos and no bad smells 🙌🏼 The location is also great. It is a quiet and clean area, with a beautiful coffee place by the lake and restaurant near by. Also a small convenience store. We hope to come again here im the future. Thank you again to our lovely hosts 🙏🏼

I would love to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Old Town of Chama. It may be a little tricky to find at first, but just follow Google Maps and you’ll get there easily. From the main gate of the Old Town, it’s only about a 5-minute walk. The hotel itself is quite new and very clean. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom facilities and appliances are all modern and high-quality. The soundproofing is excellent—although you might hear music and dancing outside, once inside the room it’s perfectly quiet. The location strikes a nice balance: slightly away from the hustle and bustle, yet just a few steps from plenty of food stalls and restaurants. What really makes this place special is the owners. They are a warm, welcoming family with parents, an elder sister, and two younger brothers. They don’t speak English, but communication was never a problem—we used Google Translate to chat over cups of delicious tea. If you need anything, you can always ask them. Exceeded all my expectations of a boutique homestay with only six rooms . Ultra luxury linens and beddings , ,Panasonic view of sea clouds at the confer of your bath tub , tasteful contemporary chinese interiors , and to top it all , run by a simple humble couple who goes to ends to make your stay a comfortable one . When you stay for 3 nights or more , they cook up a storm of local delicacies for your dinner , on top of daily breakfast! Do be prepared breakfasts are local style . Bit there’s a great cafe nearby service Arabica yunna beans and it’s become one of my fave ! Def great value for money !

The owner was incredibly kind and provided excellent service. The newly opened guesthouse was clean and hygienic, and the room even had gardenias, which smelled wonderful. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was served the next day. You can also have tea with the owner on the third floor. We are very grateful to the owner; they even helped us with transportation to Nuogan Ancient Village, even though we didn't drive ourselves. Highly recommended! Wishing the owner booming business!

During the Spring Festival, I came to Pu'er to travel and stayed at Junyi Hotel for several days. It takes 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to Simao Old Street and Daijia Lane. It is very convenient. The room has the sun in the morning. It is next to the hotel. It is a community, very life, and it is very quiet at night. There is no traffic sound. From the hotel to the left, walk about 900 meters to the firey Arxian sour chicken feet shop in Simaozhu City Street. There are many restaurants for local residents to eat along the way. The hotel owner and the front desk are also very friendly. In the past few days in Simao, I feel that the locals are very simple, there are many foods, the scenery is also very good, the regional characteristics are prominent, and the cultural atmosphere is strong. But to be honest, I think Pu'er prices are really high, but living here is quite cost-effective, the price is very suitable, tourists who come to Pu'er to play strongly recommend staying here, just in the city center, it is convenient to go anywhere, the price is also right.

The first established hotel as you enter the mountains, with plenty of parking spaces right across the street, which is very convenient. It's a bit far from the attractions, so you'll need a car. They offer butler-style service; they'll contact you the day before to provide the address, travel tips, and other information. The hotel has a good variety of activities planned, including roasted milk tea, stir-fried melon seeds, and bonfires in the evening. The hotel's dinner was just okay, with plenty of room for improvement. Breakfast on the rooftop had a great ambiance and taste. The rooms aren't luxurious but are perfectly adequate. The air conditioning was a bit old and didn't heat very well. I didn't have time to experience the travel photography session. It was really expensive during Chinese New Year, haha.

The YU MI apar**ent was clean and as beautiful as on the pictures. We stayed 2 nights and managed to use most of the apar**ent amenities such as a washing machine, TV (English speaking movies included), WIFI (fast and reliable), kettle and hair dryer. The bathroom was spacious and equipped with a western toilet. The stuff was very kind and helpful, they went the extra mile to assure our satisfaction, whether by storing our luggage or borrowing to us a knife for cutting fruits. The area has plenty of good restaurants right in front of the building (inside/around the shopping mall). At night a street market pops up with tasty food. And for those enjoying coffee or tea, the shopping mall offers plenty of shops selling local tea and coffee. We highly recommend to stay at Yu Mi.

I had two unpleasant experiences: 1. After a day out, I returned to find my room door ajar. I asked the front desk what happened, and they checked with housekeeping. Housekeeping replied that they had seen it like that since the morning. And then what? Even if I hadn't closed the door properly myself, you're just going to leave it open all day? Not contact me to confirm? Not close the door? 2. On the morning of my checkout day, while I was still asleep, I received a debit notification around 7 AM. Are you that eager to collect money?

All the reviews are true, but it’s not the wooden building that causes it.  Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.  Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.  The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.  The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this. Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.  Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.  We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.  Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.  For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby.
