"We thought we'd stop by a hot spring on our way back from visiting our children (Ofunato City), so we stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights, and were very grateful for our hospitality. The food was delicious and we were very impressed. The tatami mats were nice and clean, but if they could have done a little more to fix the cracks in the bathroom, I think the service would have been more comprehensive. It's close to the station and tourist attractions, so we usually use the car, but we didn't feel inconvenienced by the train. Although we had a great time, as hot spring lovers, we were really disappointed that there was no open-air bath. While sightseeing, we were worried about other hotels, wondering if this hotel had an open-air bath. I'm sorry. The quality of the food and hot springs was impeccable, so if they could have posted online that the open-air bath was unavailable but offered these services, we would have enjoyed it even more. Thank you for your hospitality. We'd definitely like to visit again once the open-air bath is fixed!"

"The ryokan location is excellent. My room has a huge picture window facing east. I can see the famous bay with its many islands, including the Fukuura island (福浦𡷊), in the morning with wonderful sun rise view. The Japanese breakfasts were excellent especially the one on our second day… fresh grilled fish, etc.. The Kaiseki dinners for both nights were wonderful with fresh grilled fish and high grade wagyu beef plus oyster cooked to perfection. The Onsens on the other hand are just Okay. However with the view of Fukuura island and its red bridge … nice."

"I finally got to stay at the inn I'd been longing for, and after choosing the hot spring in my room, I was able to enjoy the hot spring to my heart's content! I'd compare it to Ichinobo in Sakunami Onsen, but Sakunami Onsen had a warmer, more welcoming atmosphere, and I especially liked the food. The food in Matsushima was very stylish and tasty, but the queues were sometimes long, so I wish there were some dishes that you could serve yourself. Also, the dessert selection was too limited, and although there were a wide variety of drinks, once you ate, you wouldn't drink as much. Of course, this is subject to personal preference. The view was amazing."

"Overall, I had a good experience, but a couple of things could enhance it. Since it was winter, it'd be great to have hot water in the room - washing face with cold water was a bit of a bummer. Also, preserving Japan's cultural vibe was cool, but having showers in the rooms and lifts would've made it way easier to get around, esp with luggage. Had to trek to the basement onsen daily, not ideal."

"1. This is Matsushima's newest hotel, only opened in August 2026! 2. The design style is trendy and light luxury, simple and sleek. I stayed on a weekday so there weren't many guests, making it very quiet and comfortable! 3. The room is clean and stylish, with a private semi-open-air natural hot spring bath, which was very relaxing! 4. Both dinner and breakfast were Kaiseki cuisine, beautifully presented and the taste was superb! 5. I absolutely loved the overall atmosphere of this hotel, and the staff were all very friendly. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Matsushima!"

"Matsutake takes about 40 minutes from Sendai Station to Songdo Coast Station by Senshi Line. There is a taxi at this station. It takes about 15 minutes to get to 2250 yen by taxi. The quality of the bedding in this house was very good. I had a good night's sleep. The hot springs are rarely very clean. In the afternoon, the outdoor pool is also equipped with fresh roses to add to the hot springs. It is commendable that this check-out is 12 o'clock. The quality is reflected everywhere in the hotel with excellent views. In short, this is a wonderful stay. experience."

"I was able to spend a very comfortable day. The purpose was to watch professional baseball in Sendai, but since I came to Sendai by car, it was relatively close to the stadium, so I couldn't stop at all. Close to tourist spots, hot springs and breakfast were also a great inn over the price."
