RRares MAn excellent stay on Shengshan Island. Before we even arrived, the owner already contacted us on WeChat with information about our stay and gave us very comprehensive tips for our stay. The hotel is very conveniently located, next to the boat port, the main entry onto Shengshan, and it is just across it. The owner was waiting for us when we arrived off the boat and helped us get our luggage. They have a very convenient luggage lift which means that you don't have to lug anything up the stairs. The hotel feels clean, luxurious, comfy and homely at the same time. It is a family run hotel and the reception is very warm. Our room was very clean and everything that was needed was provided. The view was spectacular from our room (image provided). The bed was very comfy and the lounger was perfect for watching the sea within the comfort of your room. The pool downstairs is great to cool off after a day out exploring. The breakfast provided was very nice and simple, some youtiao (Chinese fried dough, similar to churros), soy milk and sweet and savoury buns. All in all an excellent experience, and we thank the hosts for everything.

KkmendozaShengshan is definitely not an easy place to get to, but staying at Woqu honestly made it so worth it! It’s very guesthouse style, so hosts have a full menu that they can cook for you if you don’t want to go into town for the restaurants. They were all so warm and welcoming, even though my Chinese isn’t very good. Even though they had a larger group of 21 staying at the same time as me, they still checked in on me to make sure that I was comfortable and that I could still have my privacy. They also offered me the number of a driver who was very readily available to take me wherever I wanted. The room was beautiful, with a wonderful view of the ocean. It would be really romantic for a couples’ getaway. I hope that more people come to Shengshan and Gouqi, even for just a day, just so they can experience some of the island-style warmth and hospitality that Woqu had to offer. Thank you again for a wonderful getaway!

GGuest UserI booked a Greek style room. The room is not big. It is a bit damp and cold in the mountain, but it is warmer with the air conditioner. The hotel has two buildings of different styles. The Moroccan style is the main building. It is said that the rooms are bigger and the facilities are better. The restaurant and lobby are here, which is very good for taking photos. There is a large range of outdoor activities, provided the weather is good. I hope the hotel will get better and better, and the comfort of the bedding and the smart toilet can be upgraded. The housekeeper is very good. If you need anything, tell her on WeChat, and she can also help call a taxi.

JJimmysandwichesWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel on Gouqi Island. The room offered a beautiful sea view, which made our stay especially relaxing and memorable. The location is also very convenient—just a short walk to a lively food street with plenty of dining options to choose from. What truly made this experience exceptional, though, was the owner’s kindness and hospitality. When we unfortunately fell ill during our stay, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. His support during that time meant a lot to us. He also kindly helped arrange transportation, which made everything much easier. To top it off, we were welcomed with a thoughtful gift at check-in, which was a lovely touch. I really can’t rate this hotel highly enough—both for the facilities and, most importantly, for the genuine care and generosity shown to us.

GGuest UserFacilities: The guesthouse is professionally managed, much like a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised that disposable bath amenities were even provided. The sea-view rooms offer a truly immersive experience. Breakfast was easily the best we've had across all the island guesthouses, prepared with a professional touch. Cleanliness: The place was spotlessly clean, and housekeeping was remarkably prompt. Environment: Located very close to the main street. The communal area on the first floor has a lovely charming vibe, perfect for reading, enjoying a cup of tea, and gazing at the sea. Service: The host was incredibly patient and thoughtful. They proactively sent us schedules for boat trips and local cultural activities on the island and were always incredibly accommodating with our requests. They even took us to see the bioluminescent sea at night! I highly recommend this guesthouse; it offers incredible value for money. I'll definitely be returning.

The hotel has a small courtyard that leads directly to the beach, perfect! The hotel is run by young people, enthusiastic and energetic, and the children who live there are very nice. They took us to check in at the first fluorescent sea in 2024. Except for not seeing the sunrise and sunset in the foggy weather, everything else is good. There are really few tourists now. The hotel has no breakfast, only drinks. Fortunately, it is very close to the main street of life. You can try the nearby breakfast shops. The prices on the island are about 1.5-2 times that of Shanghai! The island is under development and renovation recently, and it is expected to be completed in early June.

CChuxia778The homestay is in the countryside. It is quiet at night to hear insects and frogs. The decoration of the homestay is very comfortable and the room is very good. It is more than enough to sleep two big and two small, and there is a balcony. I smelled the room and my family felt okay. Pushing open the balcony door, the outside is full of the smell of fertilizer that has just been irrigated for crops, disgusting. Eating around is unpalatable and expensive, it is recommended to rent a car to the county to eat. The room was obviously with breakfast. I came down in the morning and asked that I was not prepared and needed to book in advance. Remember. Although there is a small sign that says, but the check-in is not reminded, it cost 90 yuan to take out. We didn't ask for the 20 yuan beach coupon for the reservation, and they didn't think it was. In summary, there is no service, the experience is average, and I will not go again.
