"Booked last minute, with the price I paid, this experience was phenomenal. We stayed in a Friday night, the room was spacious and our dogs really enjoyed. "This place was really great. The environment was tidy and very clean. The room was quiet, and while there weren't many breakfast options, what they had was delicious 😋. It's perfect for relaxing, and the bathroom is spacious."
The Splendor Taichung Hotel
"I stayed in this hotel a couple of times. Have to admit is time to forget it on my Taichung visit list. As the hotel is a bit old and the shopping center downstairs is actually without much shops to shop around. The trigger point is the Ms Sung 宋小姐at the reservation department. When I asked about change of dates from summer higher season to lower Sept season without asking for a refund ,instead of hearing at least an apology for not able to change, she actually scolded me in the whole conversation. Very seldom kind of service that would happen in this competitive market. Not to mention I am a frequent visitor to this hotel before. So the alternative is to choose the newer hotel at a more convenient spot. Forget this one. Not recommended"
Taichung Harbor Hotel
"The overall environment was comfortable, and my four-year-old had a blast in the kids' play area. The only downsides were that the air conditioning might not be cool enough when it's crowded, making it a bit stuffy. Also, the staff mentioned that disinfection would start at 2:00 PM, but they began clearing the area at 12:30 PM, which was a little disappointing."
Evergreen Laurel Hotel (Taichung)
Ideally located right on the iconic Taiwan Boulevard, this timeless, upscale retreat shines with its impressive range of family-friendly activities and a stellar selection of international dining experiences that are sure to delight.
53 Hotel
"Great convenient location near train stations, a lot buses around if you will like to explore the city using public transport"
T-Hotel
"The hotel looks like it just went through a renovation… but somehow a lot of the “upgrades” already feel outdated or weirdly cheap. Honestly not sure how this place passed inspection. We changed rooms three times because the floors in every room felt uneven and hollow, like parts of the floor were sinking when you stepped on them. Housekeeping explained that the rooms used to have carpet, or that the floor got dented over time from heavy furniture. Either way… not exactly reassuring. The bathroom door also seemed either misaligned or installed crooked because it barely closed properly. Maintenance literally showed up with screws to fix it on the spot. The room phone was another comedy moment. It was almost impossible to hang up correctly because it wasn’t installed properly. At one point, the front desk actually called my personal cellphone to tell me our room phone was “off the hook.” Later, housekeeping came upstairs and admitted it’s basically an installation issue and that “all the rooms are like this.” At least they were honest about it. Parking is also kind of a mess. Since we booked before April 1, the hotel said free parking wasn’t included. There are partnered parking lots nearby, but they’re expensive (NT$50 every 30 mins, capped at NT$330/day). The hotel offers a discounted rate for NT$200 per entry, but you can’t leave and re-enter. What makes this even more confusing is that the hotel is located somewhere that’s already super inconvenient for parking… yet the partnered parking lots don’t even have enough spaces. On the second night we ran into the same issue again, and only after talking with the front desk did they finally let us park temporarily in a restricted area next to the hotel. The regular night-shift front desk staff honestly seemed undertrained. We reported multiple room issues on the first night and never got a follow-up call — although maybe that’s because the room phone barely worked in the first place. Ironically, the people who actually saved the experience were the senior housekeeping staff, the maintenance staff, and the night supervisor. They were genuinely helpful and handled everything professionally. To be fair, the room price and the renovated look are actually pretty decent for the money, and breakfast was surprisingly good too. But this hotel comes with so many unintentionally funny problems that staying here sometimes felt like participating in a live beta test. Overall: if you want decent value, good breakfast, and a slightly chaotic but memorable hotel experience… this place might actually be worth trying once."
THE METRO HOTEL TAICHUNG
"The room and bathroom are very spacious. All in all, it went well. There weren't many electrical outlets but the service was good."
CHECKinn Taichung Ziyou
"Nice place, beautiful and comfortable room. Very nice and helpful hotel staff."
