Hotel near HongKong International Airport,Hong Kong 5.9% of visitors choose this area
GGan Yung Chyan 2026.01.19
Regala Skycity Hotel is the nearest airport hotel of Terminal 2 of Hong Kong Chep Lap Kok Airport. The first free shuttle bus service starts at 6.15 am from the bus interchange at Terminal 2. Waiting bay is between lanes 9 and 11. Late check-out is allowed upon request until 1 pm. As my experience goes, there is no need to pay room deposit of HK$500 after paying for the room rate in full at Trip.com. If the guest chose to pay at the hotel, HK$500 which is roughly around S$83, is required. The hotel allows rooms for day use until 6 pm and room deposit is required. I chose to stay at Regala Skycity Hotel in order to review its rooftop as the hotel promotes the use of its rooftop for physical exercises and plane-spotting. The rooftop is above the twelfth floor, two fire doors up from the eleventh floor. On the rooftop, I can see jets flying towards the direction of the sea above the rooftop. If an aeroplane flies towards the airport in the opposite direction, plane-spotting can be done at the twelfth floor corridor end-window. It is amazing that jets can be seen flying towards the airport above the sea. Hong Kong Airport Terminal 1 and Regala Airport Hotel can also be noticed. Focal length is 200mm to 500mm. In the afternoon after check-out, I am grateful that the receptionist allows me to go up to the rooftop again for plane-spotting till sun set with out paying for a room for day use. About the small, comfortable room that I stayed, the garden view is not that magnificent. There are no trees fortunately. There are no bottles of mineral water in the room. Heat a kettle of water and pour the water into the hotel's glass bottle to drink later. About the shower room, the anti-slip mattress is available for use. The hotel restaurant serves complimentary breakfast with Hong Kong-style breakfast as the highlight. There is no American-style breakfast to eat. It is very expensive to stay in Regala Skycity Hotel but I will stay here again for the purpose of plane-spotting if there were new airliners flying to the airport at the appropriate time.

I chose The Empire Hotel Wan Chai because reviews mentioned its convenient location, being about 800 meters from both Admiralty and Wan Chai MTR stations. I looked at some pictures and reviews, and while there were some negative comments, I figured that everyone's expectations and experiences are different. So, after weighing everything, I decided to stay here. Overall, my experience at The Empire Hotel Wan Chai was excellent; I'm very satisfied and would give it a perfect score, with just a tiny bit of room for improvement. Of course, individual experiences vary, but objectively speaking, the environment, service, room cleanliness, and amenities were all very good. I'd say it's comparable to a high-end All Seasons Hotel in mainland China. Knowing that space is at a premium in Hong Kong, I understood that room sizes would differ from mainland hotels, so I wasn't disappointed by the room's dimensions. I booked a king-sized bed room online about half a month in advance. Upon check-in, the front desk upgraded me to a twin room. The beds were 0.9 meters wide, and the bedding was quite comfortable for sleeping.

The room was spacious. It's connected to the terminal, so you don't have to go outside to get there. There's an Airport Express train to the city center that takes about half an hour. Getting to Disneyland is also convenient: just take the S1 bus from the hotel entrance to Tung Chung Station, then the MTR; the whole trip takes about an hour. Even though it's at the airport, the sound of planes taking off and landing isn't too loud.

The location is quite good, and the surroundings are convenient. Getting here from West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station was very comfortable, whether by subway, bus, or taxi, all within 20 minutes. It's a 15-minute walk to Victoria Harbour's Avenue of Stars and K11. There are plenty of shops and banks nearby, making it feel convenient and efficient. The hotel's breakfast was also good.

I brought my family to Hong Kong this time, and we were very satisfied with our stay at the Empire Hotel Causeway Bay! We booked two rooms, one for two adults and one child, and the other for one adult and one child. The hotel's arrangements were incredibly thoughtful. 📍Excellent Location: The hotel is right near Causeway Bay MTR station, just a few minutes' walk away, making it very convenient to get to Times Square and Sogo. The area also felt very safe at night, with plenty of convenience stores and local eateries (cha chaan tengs) to choose from, making traveling with kids completely stress-free. 🏨Comfortable and Thoughtful Rooms: The family room we stayed in was more spacious than expected; even with an extra bed added, it didn't feel cramped. The other twin room was also perfectly comfortable. The rooms were clean and tidy, amenities were complete, and most importantly, the soundproofing was excellent, allowing us to sleep very soundly at night.

The hotel has an excellent view. The room is spacious. Room service is very efficient. Everything is pretty clean. I love the glass window in the washroom. They even have 5 elevators! There is a few restaurants right by the hotel. Only downfall is the neighborhood is a little bit sketchy late at night. Day time is busy and great. Mtr is about a 10 min walk n I walk fast!

Staying at the Harbour Grand Hong Kong was a luxurious experience, offering panoramic views of Victoria Harbour. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room provided breathtaking vistas of the dazzling city skyline and sparkling waters, transforming day and night into a living painting. The hotel's service was impeccable and attentive; the staff consistently anticipated our needs, combining efficiency with genuine warmth. The rooftop infinity pool felt like it was suspended between the sky and the sea, offering an unparalleled view while swimming. The location is excellent, close to both the business district and the MTR, making travel incredibly convenient. Overall, it perfectly blends magnificent scenery, outstanding service, and urban accessibility, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.

The room itself was generally good, but a lot of water leaked out of the shower area after use. Also, my room was on the second floor, and I felt there was a security issue. There's no card access control at the entrance to the guest rooms on the second floor, meaning anyone who can get to the second floor can enter. The corridor on the second floor is also accessible to anyone, which I think needs improvement. On the positive side, the hotel reception staff were very friendly, and there was drinking water available in the lobby and on my floor outside the room, which was very convenient.

The hotel is very convenient for getting around, with a great location. The room was clean, and after a tiring day of shopping, a soak in the bathtub was wonderful. They also offer luggage storage, and the front desk staff spoke very fluent Mandarin.

GGuest UserAs expected, the room was small and the facilities were compact. However, it had everything you'd need, and it would be even better if there was an extra chair. The hotel entrance is tucked away at the corner of a small street and can be a bit hard to spot if you're not paying attention, as the decor is quite understated. We actually got a bit lost searching for it from Causeway Bay MTR station, almost ending up at Victoria Park. On the upside, the hotel's location is fantastic. Right at the street corner downstairs, it's in a bustling commercial area, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. You've got everything from Din Tai Fung to Fairwood, catering to all budgets. Small supermarkets like Japan Home Centre and 7-Eleven are just steps away. Hong Kong is a place where every inch counts, and for a four-star hotel to occupy such a prime location and still offer everything you'd expect, it definitely deserves praise. Another big plus is that the A11 bus stop is just a ten-minute walk away, and it's not usually crowded with passengers. This is particularly convenient for travelers heading to Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge.

GGuest User⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Modern & Clean ”Nest,” But the Comfort is Squawky for the Price First, the positives, because they are significant. The Good: Sparkling Clean & Modern Vibes 🧼✨ Upon arrival, the first impression is excellent. The lobby is small but very chic, with a modern, minimalist design that feels fresh and clean. This theme continues into the room. I have to give them top marks for cleanliness; everything was spotless. The linens were fresh, the floor was clean, and the bathroom shone. The overall aesthetic is very stylish – lots of smart lighting, sleek surfaces, and a very efficient use of space (but more on that later). It genuinely feels like a new, well-maintained property, which is a huge plus in a city like Hong Kong where many budget options can feel tired. The staff also deserve a shout-out. When we arrived, one of the two main passenger elevators was under maintenance. 🛠️ This, as you can imagine, created a bit of a queue. However, a staff member quickly noticed the backup and proactively offered to guide us to the cargo elevator. It wasn't the most glamorous entrance, but it was a practical and helpful solution that saved us a long wait. It was a small gesture, but it showed they were on the ball and cared about guest convenience. The Not-So-Good: The Squeeze & The Sting 💸 Now, let’s talk about the core of the stay: the room and the value. We paid almost 1000 HKD for a single night. For a ”budget-conscious” hotel in Aberdeen, which isn't exactly Central, this felt quite steep. Upon opening the door to our room, the ”efficient use of space” I mentioned earlier became very apparent. To put it bluntly, the room is extremely small. We knew it would be compact, but the reality is always a bit of a shock. There was just enough space to walk around the beds and open our suitcases one at a time. Fine, it’s Hong Kong, we get it. Space is a luxury. However, the beds were the biggest disappointment. They were single beds, and I mean narrow single beds. I’m an average-sized adult, and I felt like I was sleeping on a tightrope. 🪂 Any rolling over in the night had to be a very conscious decision, or I risked a meeting with the floor. If you are a larger person or someone who likes to sprawl out, these beds would be genuinely challenging. For a hotel that seems to market itself to couples or friends traveling together, having two such cramped beds in a tiny room makes for a restless night. The amenities provided were another head-scratcher. The room came with the basics: towels, slippers, and a wall-mounted shampoo/shower gel dispenser. That’s it. No conditioner, no body lotion. But the real kicker for me was the toothbrush. A basic toothbrush and toothpaste set was not provided in the room; it was an ”extra” you had to purchase from reception for 5 HKD. 🪥 Now, 5 HKD is practically nothing, I know. But it’s the principle. At a price point of nearly 1000 HKD, providing a basic hygiene item like a toothbrush feels like a given. Making it an add-on purchase feels unnecessarily stingy and leaves a bad taste in your mouth (pun intended). It’s these small costs that add up and make you feel nickel-and-dimed. Location & Final Thoughts 🗺️ Aberdeen is a fascinating area, but it’s important to manage your expectations. It's not the most convenient base for a typical tourist wanting to explore the heart of Hong Kong. You’re looking at a 25-30 minute bus ride to get to Central, and depending on the time of day, the traffic can be a real buzzkill. 🚍 So, while you're saving a bit compared to a Central hotel, you're paying with your time. So, what’s the final verdict? The South Nest is a paradox. It’s clean, modern, and feels safe. The staff are helpful. There are certainly cheaper options in Hong Kong, but they likely won’t be as clean or stylish. However, for the price we paid, the experience was let down by the claustrophobic room size, the uncomfortably narrow beds, and the surprisingly bare-bones amenities. Would I stay a

CCN_NanaThe Hostel is placed in the central of Hongkong. We enjoyed walking to the victoria Bay multiple times, as well as to different food stores, bakerys and shopping places. The Hostel in itself is fine. But when we arrived (7pm) our room was still not cleaned. But the service personnel and checkin was extraordinarily nice and the room was clean and really fine in the end. Just at night time you have to walk past some rats, as it is placrd in a big old building apartment with loads of different shops and cheap hostels. One can say it is quite an authentic experience. For travelling and being outside its the perfect place.

DDadadajingThis was my first solo trip and I was a bit nervous at first, but my Hong Kong trip turned out to be really enjoyable, not scary at all. In fact, it felt even more liberating and comfortable. I chose this hotel and its location is incredibly convenient. The MTR station is less than a 10-minute walk away, and Pacific Place is within walking distance. The area around the hotel is also very lively. There's a fantastic Korean noodle shop nearby that I highly recommend! I went back out for a quick bite after returning to the hotel in the evening and managed to get a meal just before they closed. It was super delicious! Later, I found out it's a chain. The cleanliness of the room was also excellent, and I'm quite particular about hotels. I stayed over a weekend, and at 1000 per night, the price was quite good. I genuinely recommend it! Oh, and a quick note about the random room assignment. I was initially worried about getting a bad room. When I got to the front desk, I was going to ask for a high-floor room, but the staff mentioned that the lower floors had just been renovated, so I went ahead with a low-floor room. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied and have already recommended it to friends who have also stayed here.

GGuest UserIt was an amazing stay! The thing I liked was that the room was spacious and we had a balcony. This would’ve been a perfect 10/10 if it weren’t for the toilet problem our room had. But the hotel was so accommodating and made sure our room was cleaned every day because of the toilet issue. I would definitely consider coming back.

GGuest UserThe room was very spacious, equipped with a kitchenette and all the necessary dinnerware. The views were open and expansive. While the location might be a bit challenging for first-time visitors to Hong Kong, the hotel offers several complimentary shuttle services to and from Central daily. The Pedder Street shuttle stop is conveniently located at the bus station near Central MTR Exit D1. There's also a stop at IFC, but I haven't personally used it, so it's best to inquire with the hotel for specific boarding points. If you prefer taking public transport, from Admiralty Station Exit B, turn right for about ten meters onto Tamar Street, then turn right again and walk twenty meters to the bus stop for the 12A. It's only two stops to the hotel, at the 'YWCA' stop. From there, walk back about twenty meters to reach the hotel. When heading back to the hotel from Central, the 12A bus is also the best option. It will first go to Admiralty Bus Terminus and stop for a few minutes while the driver takes a break. You can simply wait on the bus; there's no need to purchase another ticket. I figured this out after staying for four days, as the 12A is a short circular route specifically designed for MacDonnell Road residents. Every time I queued at Admiralty, I'd see people already on board, leading me to conclude they had traveled from Central and were waiting to go up the hill back to MacDonnell Road.

GGuest UserThis place is decent. The hygiene is pretty good, though the room is a bit small. That's understandable given that space is at a premium on Hong Kong Island. The price was great during the off-season, especially with fewer people around due to the typhoon. The guy at the front desk was very enthusiastic. It was drizzling all day, and because of the typhoon, the MTR to Hong Kong Island was temporarily shut down. I tried to hail a Didi for ages in the morning; taxis didn't want to go out because of the typhoon, and Didi drivers were price gouging, asking for HKD 300 or even HKD 500. Some even accepted the order but never showed up and didn't cancel. It wasn't even that far. Finally, an uncle accepted the order and showed up in the rain, and he didn't even charge extra! I couldn't believe it, he was a truly honest person. The wind and rain weren't even that bad, and there were few cars on the road. I chatted with the driver; he spoke Cantonese, and we spoke Mandarin, but we could mostly understand each other. Older people are often more down-to-earth. The driver was over 50, born in Hong Kong, with ancestral roots in Guangdong. His daughter is still young. It's not easy for men to provide for their families. We arrived at the hotel quickly, and the fare was HKD 123. We gave the driver a 10 RMB note as a tip to thank him.

SSongshanlvluThe hotel opened in 1992, and for the price I paid, it met my expectations this stay. The room and bed were just as described – clean and tidy! The windowsill was a great touch; it held a lot of stuff, making the room feel less cramped. There was no drinking water or toiletries provided, but they did give slippers and towels. You'll need to bring your own adapter. I stayed for 2 nights and was satisfied. The location is convenient. The only downside was the hotel WiFi; too many people were using it, so it was either very slow or impossible to connect. The hotel lobby is on the first floor, and the staff's working conditions looked quite tough. I remember it used to be on the third floor. I didn't take any photos inside the hotel, but I did snap some outside the window.
