Sydney Hotels with balcony

I was very satisfied with my stay this time! The hotel environment was comfortable and tidy, the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the amenities were all well-equipped. The staff were friendly and polite, check-in and check-out were smooth, and they were quick to provide assistance when needed. The hotel's location was convenient, with good transportation and dining options nearby. Overall, it's great value for money and I had a very comfortable stay. I would consider staying here again next time I'm in the area, and I highly recommend it to other travelers!

Excellent! Initially, I was a bit worried after reading reviews about it being unfriendly and noisy, but I found that wasn't the case. The hotel is cleaned daily and is very tidy. The room was spacious and had a balcony. It's true there's a bar downstairs, and if you leave the windows open at night, it can be a bit loud. However, the balcony has double-glazed windows, and once closed, it's quiet. One thing to note is that the hotel rooms with kitchens have an induction hob where the pot automatically heats up if it's not removed, and you can't just turn it off directly, which is different from what I'm used to. One day, the alarm went off because a neighbor burnt something, which gave us quite a fright. Thankfully, it was a false alarm. Overall, the room was large and comfortable, and it's very close to Darling Harbour, so you can enjoy the night view. The value for money is really high.

The hotel's amenities are really subpar; it's nothing like a 4-star hotel. Sofitel properties in China are much better configured. I stayed at their hotels in Sydney and Gold Coast this trip, and I definitely won't be staying with this brand again. The bathroom sink was like something out of a hostel – small, single basin, and so low and shallow that when you wash your face or hands, water splashes all over your waist and stomach. We arrived quite late on the first day, and the air conditioning wasn't central, it was very noisy, and the fridge also made a lot of noise. Plus, we were at the end of a hallway. I contacted Ctrip customer service; we couldn't switch rooms on the second day, but they moved us on the third. However, in the new room, the toilet seat didn't have a soft-close mechanism, so it would either slam shut or just fall down. The towels were placed on a tiny shelf – I don't know if that's a deliberate design choice by the hotel? Anyway, it's hard to put into words… all the rooms are at the end of hallways. I absolutely will not stay at any Sofitel brand hotels again… This is my second time in Australia this year, and it's winter, the off-season. Hotel prices were higher than what I booked in February, and my experiences in Gold Coast and Sydney were disappointing… Cairns was even worse, essentially a hostel-level hotel by Chinese standards, with twin beds less than 1 meter wide each… When booking a hotel, it really has to be an international brand, but Sofitel is a chain, and the one in Sydney was truly bad…

The hotel generally meets five-star standards, but it's positioned as a more accessible five-star option. The decor is quite traditional, not a modern, brand-new design. The rooms are well-maintained, and if you're lucky enough to get a high-floor room, the view is fantastic. You get a direct view of the harbor and the sea, which is beautiful both day and night. The rooftop pool and gym are definitely worth checking out; the views are superb and were a pleasant surprise during my stay. It's a bit of a walk to the subway station, a few minutes on foot, but it's generally acceptable. Overall, it offers good value for money, making it suitable for travelers who want a five-star experience but are also budget-conscious.

The geographical location is superior, making travel convenient, and the bedding was very comfortable to sleep in. I would choose to stay here again next time, highly recommended! I don’t usually go out of my way to give hotel reviews. Postive or negative. However I must for this hotel. I was recommended this hotel by someone I am having a meeting with in the area. It was shockingly expensive, but I figured it would be worth it due to location and it was recommended by my contact. I don’t always stay in 5star, but when staying in 5star, and super expensive, I absolutely expect 5star service. 1. Having being dropped off at the hotel there was zero bell boy to help with my luggage. I did all myself. After going inside the hotel I was asked if I would like help with my bags, but replied I already had them… again I already go it myself. 2. At every single hotel I stay in the world it’s common when you ask at reception, how is my room, do I have a good view or location they check and my change it a little for better location or room type if they have vacancies. I was replied to by the girl in reception in a somewhat arrogant manner, sir you have the standard room… with zero intent to look to see if there was better option. In countless years and counties I’ve never had this response. At lease some carding or trying, even if they were full but not just arrogant cold “you have standard”. 3. The sauna advertised is NOT free. It’s paid extra and you need to book. Why would a hotel advertise sauna when it’s an additional cost. In addition it closes at 7:30pm. In all my years I’ve never been to a hotel where it closes so early. How can one have meetings and get back to have a sauna in time. When I complained about this also I was met with coke arrogant smiles. 4. The last day on check out in morning there was no body at the front desk. Zero. Very strange. Never have I been in a hotel there was no body in reception. Even more so strange for such an expensive hotel. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I would in fact go, and have done put my way to NOT recommend. Not even a 1 star. For the price this is ridiculously over priced. The arrive is a lousy 1 star budge hotel. In fact a 1 star would have friendlier and better authentic service. On one positive note. The gym is amazing. The gym is a 5star as it’s not a “hotel gym” but a membership gym part of hotel. My overall rating therefore is a 2 star for the gym alone. Hotel for the price they charge and the well below average service zero!

It's in a great location and the unit is quite spacious but unfortunately that's about as good as it gets. Parking is an extra fee which I didn't see mentioned anywhere and despite booking through trip.com reception takes a $200 security deposit. There's no direct access to the units from the parking garage and no lifts to higher levels. We had a lot of luggage as a family of 6 but it was manageable for us as we were on ground floor it might be an issue for people on higher floors. The receptionist said ”Oh, you've got a nice room!” So we had high hopes. The unit presented well at first but there were no mesh screens on the doors or windows so we couldn't open them to get any fresh air, the shower door in the ensuite didn't close properly and the floor gets soaked, even with the exhaust on in the main bathroom it filled up with so much condensation after a morning shower that the walls and floor were wet all day resulting in both me and my youngest child slipping over. Luckily neither of us were hurt. We were only given 4 towels even though I put 6 people on our booking details and we were in a room that sleeps 6. There was a cigarette lighter left on the bed head, smashed coffee mug under the vanity in one of the bathrooms, food packets/rubbish under the couches, hole in the wall, window missing a piece of trim. There was something on the couch so I used a baby wipe to wipe it off and the entire wipe was black so I don't think the couches ever get wiped over. We were there for 4 nights 5 days and housekeeping came to our unit once. As all 6 of us were all inside at the time I said ”there's just some rubbish and one bed that needs clean sheets please” The ladies did those things then asked if we'd like them to vacuum, I said yes please and they left, I assumed to get the vacuum, but they didn't come back. On our 1st morning we were walking down to the parking and noticed 3 used syringes in the garden outside our unit, we told reception and the man said ”someone probably dropped them” We made it clear to him that they were used and had exposed tips. When we arrived back that afternoon, they were still in the garden and in fact still there days later when we checked out.

OK for one night. The hotel is above the pub, which is also very busy in the afternoon. There is also live music there on Sundays until around 9 p.m. Everything is perfectly fine, unless you have room 10 next to the washing machine/dryer and sleep next to the ventilation. Even though drying and washing is not allowed after 9 p.m., it was very annoying. The hotel rooms face the back, so in the morning you also have the noise from the loading area of ​​the supermarket. On the positive side, the room was in a modern condition and the staff were all very nice. The beach is a ten-minute walk away.

Check-in is until 10:30 PM. I arrived at Sydney Airport at 9 PM and then had to pick up my rental car. I got to the hotel around 11 PM. I had previously contacted the hotel via Trip.com to let them know I would be arriving late, and it was no problem at all! The friendly lady warmly welcomed me. She just asked for my ID, then gave me my key card. Parking is free. When you check in, you can park your car for a few minutes to the left, opposite the office. Once you've checked in, you can use your key card to open a gate to park your car. It closes again for security. So, to enter, just hold your card to the right of the office, and the gate will open. To exit, there's a control panel on the right; just press it, and the gate will open. Parking spaces are fine, even for Suzukis. Right next to the parking spots, there's a staircase that leads to your room. On the downside: no elevator. Room amenities: 2 shampoos and 2 conditioners. Fresh towels. The bathroom takes a bit of getting used to. The tiles are in a dismal state, and if the bathroom door is left open, there's a constant light from outside. There's a sink with hot water, but the mirror is to the left of it. A hairdryer is provided. The bed is comfortable and large, easily fitting two people. There's also an additional bed to the left of the window, though its purpose isn't entirely clear to me. The walls resemble a prison. A TV is available. There's a kettle, instant coffee, and tea, along with spoons and cups. Opposite the bed is a large mirror. The air conditioning only works sporadically. Pros: Close to the airport. Free parking, affordable prices. Private bathroom. Aldi is a 20-minute walk away. A few huge spiders (by European standards) visited me in the room ;D Verdict: Perfectly fine for one or two days.

My experienced wasn’t bad. Location is very close to the train station, for the price it’s okay. Shout out to the reception a guy who served me when I arrived. He offered me a can of drink because it was sunny and I was walking from station to the accomodation. Great customer service. One thing that I don’t like was the mini bar fridge it was damaged. One night I arrived into my room, I nearly slipped, there was water everywhere from the fridge all the way to the door. I rang up to discuss the issue no one answered. I decided to put all the towels in the floor to stop the water. My issue was HEALTH & SAFETY of the guest. Aside from that issue everything was good. Ildelyn Geelong vic
