"Ace Hotel Sydney offers a fantastic experience with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally friendly, always going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. Their helpfulness and genuine hospitality make you feel right at home. The stylish design and prime location add to the charm, but it’s the attentive service that truly sets this hotel apart. Highly recommended!"

"We booked hotel for convenience for our wedding. Pros: The location is awesome, only 7min walk from Gadigal Metro Station and about 5mins from Townhall station. Check is smooth, we were quickly allocated a room. If you are a member with IHG they will allow you to have a later check out. The size of the room was very good. Cons: The cleanliness of the room was very sad, quite disappointing that a 4 star hotel doesn’t have late night housekeeping. There were grey stains on the pillows. Dirty bits in the shower. Housekeeping service was very bad. They somehow made the bed with our personal items wedged between the sheets which took up a really long time to find. They didn’t bother to replace towels and remove all the rubbish from our room. All in all, not the greatest experience. Would not recommend. Poor service, overpriced."

"My first review on Trip and I don't usually bother to write reviews - shows you how much the hotel impressed me. We stayed for 1 night in Capella Sydney as a family of 3. The hotel facilities were absolutely amazing, decor was gorgeous and food options at Aperture and Brasserie were awesome. However, I won't dwell on these too much as I'm sure when you booked into a Capella brand hotel, you will already assume this as a given right? One highlight in terms of facilities though, was The Living Room, which is assessible to all guests staying in the hotel. It had beverages, snacks, comfy sofas and 6 star service. We spent so much time there chilling with our son and in the end it really became ”our living room”. Enough of that, let me move on to the service which blew our minds. I'll give you a few examples and hopefully you can see why I feel it would be criminal for me not to write a review. 1. On arrival when we got out of our car and the porters were helping us with our luggage, somehow they addressed me by name. Maybe it's because they saw I had a 2 year old and I was the only guest checking in that day with a small child. Still, I was super impressed. I've only experienced this previously at Aman hotels. 2. Upon checking in, Sophie (I hope I got your name right!) was super helpful and cheerful. When she saw my young son, she also proactively asked if we needed a later check out and if our son needed to nap. She immediately offered to give us 2pm late check out. However, having told her our son actually takes his nap at 2pm, she told us to come back and check with the front desk the next day and they can extend it till 4pm. Remember, I didn't request this, she did this completely out of her own initiative. 3. We didn't book dinner and Sophie referred us to Madiha of the Cultural team. Madiha took note of all our requirements, including the need for the restaurant to be 2 year old friendly, and within 15 mins emailed me a full list of restaurants and their menus for me to choose from while she also served us drinks and snacks at the living room. We eventually picked an Italian restaurant and she made the reservation for us. Fyi, it was scrumptious. 4. After breakfast, we were walking around the lobby and my son walked past the cakeshop and saw a raspberry tart. He really wanted it but I told him we just had breakfast. Ton (?)(I hope I got your name right, the Thai gentleman with a love for cars), the manager came up and said ”you can have the tart for free! It's on the house!”. I was stunned. He also spent so much time talking to my son and showing him pictures of cars, unbelievable. Shout out also to Matthew (uncle Hao Jun) for being so warm and hospitable to us. Honestly we were feeling so sad leaving the hotel as everyone felt like friends and family to us. One thing is for sure though, we will be back. Absolutely flawless service, kudos to the Capella Sydney team!"

"We chose this hotel for its location. Just step outside and you can hop on a tram to head down to Circular Quay or up towards Broadway. Great view from room too. The hotel was very clean; the foyer, the elevators, the hallways and the room. The extra bed for our teenager was very uncomfortable and certainly not worth the quoted $110 per night. We had to ask for extra towels/cup/glassware as there were three of us in the room. The main bed was comfortable but one of the legs/wheels was broken. The main television in the room did not work at all for the first 24 hours of our stay due to a ”global network failure”. It was only after this was fixed that we were able to discover the amenities/facilities offered by the hotel. Complimentary water bottles were only replenished once in a three-night stay, and used glasses were not always replaced/washed by housekeeping. The staff were pleasant enough but I expected a better overall experience staying at Hilton Sydney."

"The first day was almost spoiled by a giant roach that decided our room belonged to him. However the staff, particularly at the concierge/bellhop area were consistently great and they were very helpful and friendly. The hotel's corridors were really showing their age with the peeling wallpaper, but the rooms themselves were fine. Oh and the roach? We rang reception and they immediately changed our rooms!"

"During our stay we experienced that their house keeping service was bad, for the whole week stay they didn't change the bed sheet at all, sometimes not supplying drinking water to us, and not vacuuming the floor throughly. The worst is that we sent a value of $4000 LV vest to dry clean, they returned it within one hour without properly cleaned, then we requested to redo the job,  end of the story is the vest is completely damaged and they only want to compensate less than $100 cleaning charge."

"The room is very spacious and has a bathtub. The structure was a bit unique, so it was interesting and fun. Because it is a city, there is often noise in the early morning. People who are sensitive to sleep should be careful because the warning sound keeps coming from outside for about 10 minutes in the early morning and then stops. I am satisfied with everything! :))"

When I went back, it was super warm and tidy. , I just walked to the shopping place, and I was super close to darling harbour. Very Good
KKathhhLocation: Located in Haymarket, very close to Central Train Station and Haymarket Light Tram Station, there are bunch of restaurants and supermarkets (just within 3-10 mins walk) around the area which is very convenient for quick access to food, coffee/drinks and groceries. Reception: Reception is very welcoming and friendly, also they provide services like help collecting letters and packages, printing services (1 copy is free yet multiple copies charge $0.2 per page), coin exchange etc. There’s a great open area in front of the reception where you can find sofas and a long workstation available for people to rest and work, the design is also very good. Facilities: There’re a café (Roy’s Café), a bar/club (Side Bar) and a travel agency (Travel Up!) in the building, making my stay very accessible to all the things I need be it coffee or drinks or a travel advice. Kitchen: Kitchen is on the 1/F, it’s relatively spacious. There’re 2 huge fridges and a locker wall for us to store our food. There’re total 8 stoves, 4 sinks, 3-4 microwaves, 1 oven and 1 hot water tap where you can have boiling hot water right away. All utensils are provided so that’s very convenient. Overall the kitchen area has exceeded my expectations. Dorm area: My dorm is on the 4th floor, it’s relatively quiet. And because we’ll need our badges to access the elevator so the security is quite good as well. From the picture you can tell the dorm and hallway are clean enough, also the bathroom is very clean just I didn’t take a picture but it’s clean and comfortable. Also I love the interior design which made it looks aesthetic in a clean way. Just sometimes the dorm room might smells a little bit if your roommates bring in something smelly cuz you’re not able to open the window and the AC is not strong enough. Laundry: There’s also a laundry room each floor, 2 washing machines ($6 each wash, if you need laundry detergent from the reception that will be another $1) and 2 dryers ($4 each use) are equipped, they are big enough to consume a lot of clothes at once which is very good. It could get quite busy at night so I suggested to set an alarm when doing your laundry if you don’t want your clothes being taken out by others. Events: There are free / cheap events every day and every night, if you are a social person you’ll love it. All the volunteers and staff there are really welcoming and they will knock your door to give you invitations, I really love their enthusiasm! Been to wine and cheese night on a Wed night, vibes is good. So definitely recommend this hostel if you love meeting new people through events. After it’s definitely a great stay at Wake Up! Sydney Central and I’d recommend it to people who love a vibrant hostel environment like this.

BBim VlogPerfect location and clean hostel. The beds are comfortable and clean. They have personal luggage storage in the shared room just bring your padlock . Toilets are great with hot and cold showers. However, they don't have bidet, so if you're someone who uses bidet, then this place is not for you. They also have a good kitchen to cook your favorite dishes. The staff are good they are friendly and accommodating. I just don't like their strict check out policy. I was at the toilet and exceeded 5min before checking out, but when I tried to open the shared room to get my luggage, I could not open it anymore they deactivated the keycard already which is really rude. Maybe you can give consideration when it comes to checkout time.

LLunaryuClean rooms and friendly staff. Great price for the location. Easy access to Town Hall train/light rail stations and Museum station, which we used everyday. Easy access to the airport. Since the hotel is in the middle of shops, restaurants, and bars in central areas, it can get pretty loud at night, even with the windows shut and curtains closed. However, we didn't mind the noise.

VVSingWhen I booked two Deluxe Family Rooms at Furama Darling Harbour for a 6-day stay with family, I had high hopes for comfort, convenience, and a pleasant experience. Here’s how it went. Location: Convenient, but Parking Woes The location of Furama Darling Harbour is undoubtedly one of its highlights. Nestled within walking distance of numerous restaurants offering cuisines from all over the globe, it was a food lover's dream. Finding the hotel wasn’t a challenge either, thanks to clear signage and central placement. However, the parking situation? That’s another story. The hotel doesn’t have an on-site parking lot. Instead, we had to park about a five-minute walk away, which isn’t ideal when lugging bags or dealing with Sydney’s occasional drizzle. Plus, the cost added up—$244 AUD for six days. If parking convenience matters to you, it’s worth factoring this in. Cleanliness: Mixed Experiences Cleanliness was... average, to say the least. While the first day seemed fine, housekeeping didn’t exactly shine as the stay went on. On Day 2, we were surprised (and not in a good way) to find dirty towels left after the room was cleaned. Fast forward to Day 5, and we found toilet paper and stray hairs under the blanket after housekeeping had supposedly “refreshed” the space. Not exactly the five-star housekeeping you’d hope for. To be fair, we didn’t raise the issue with reception that evening—it was our last night, and we figured housekeeping staff would already be off-duty. But, as a guest, you shouldn’t have to weigh these options. Service: Quick and Friendly, But a Breakfast Mishap Service at Furama Darling Harbour was a bright spot overall. The staff were warm, responsive, and accommodating, whether it was resolving issues with the TV or bringing up extra towels. That said, we hit a snag with the included breakfast. Our booking clearly stated breakfast for four people per room, which should have covered eight of us across two rooms. Yet, when we went down, they claimed the booking only covered four breakfasts total. After some back-and-forth with both hotel staff and Trip’s customer service, the issue was resolved. But it wasn’t exactly a stress-free start to the day. Facilities: Functional, But Nothing Fancy The gym was basic but functional—a single machine covering major muscle groups, though no free weights were in sight. It’s fine if you’re just looking to get in a quick workout. The laundry room was handy, though a bit pricey: $5 AUD each to wash and dry, plus $3 AUD for detergent. Breakfast, while initially enjoyable, became repetitive after two days. A buffet should ideally offer more variety, but here the options changed only slightly. Updating the in-room TVs to include smart features wouldn’t hurt either; it felt like the tech was stuck in the past. Rooms: Spacious and Comfortable Now, for the standout feature—the rooms. They were impressively spacious, with plenty of room for our luggage and still enough space to move around comfortably. The beds? Absolute heaven. I slept like a rock every night, with no noise disturbances or distractions. The bathroom mirrored this sense of space, steering clear of that cramped, claustrophobic feeling that some hotels suffer from. It’s refreshing to stay somewhere that values comfort this much. Final Thoughts: Worth a Stay, Despite Flaws Would I recommend Furama Darling Harbour? Absolutely, especially for families. The spacious rooms, friendly service, and fantastic location make it a strong contender. Yes, cleanliness and parking could use improvement, but the positives—comfortable beds, quiet nights, and accommodating staff—outweigh the negatives. If you can overlook a few quirks and minor inconveniences, Furama offers a good home base for exploring Sydney. Just be ready for some parking acrobatics and keep an eye on those housekeeping details!

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in an excellent location in the heart of the Sydney CBD. The rooms are spacious and clean however a bit dated. Although the room was pre-paid my card was charged for a second time. I pointed this out to the front desk staff and it was quickly resolved although I wonder how often that happens. The entire hotel is in need of a refurb so not sure the rooms are worth the price however it served my purposes and was not a bad experience.

RR Katy YMy family of 3 checked in early around noon. We stayed at a lovely 1 bedroom apartment on e 2nd level with a balcony which overlooks e street below. Apartment was spacious, amenities provided were sufficient though one could request for more when necessary. What we loved best was e location which was so convenient for us to check out different places of Sydney. We ended up walking to our destinations most of e time while enjoying e weather and scenery. There was ample food choices all around e hotel too. Apart from a busier and noisier street during e weekend, which usually dies down by midnight, my family and I had a great stay in Rydges.

RRoyale CheeseI usually do not post reviews, but I had to this time to share my experiences. I stayed for a total of 5 nights, Tue and check out on Sunday(7-12 Feb 2023) Plus point -Location is really good , plenty of thai/chinese restaurants and room is huge. -Bed is comfortable, -Yoshie is one that was one more friendly staff that I remembered her name , please give her a raise or wine on me.(she is a Japanese, in case i got her name wrong) Hotel staff, is a on and off experience. The night ones tend to be more ”cold” and the day ones are much better.( again, Yoshie was the ”better” ones, there are more, but I couldnt remember their name) Now on to the exciting part... Tuesday- Checkin day, A smooth day but without hand towels and when I asked for them before leaving the place for a concert. ( they claim they were in laundry or something and I find it hard to believe for a 5 star accommodation) We were without a frying pan as well( they send it up though when i called for it) Wed- Requested for toothbrush/Toiletries and had to request again after waiting for more than an hour, as it was forgotten ,I presumed Thu- Requested to change towel when we went out in morning, nothing was done when we were back in evening. I especially informed the morning reception guys to not forget it, but someone in the middle must have forgotten it. Evening time, The staff upon informing said they will have it there in 10 mins, which they did. By the way, the phone became faulty but I didn't bother to inform as I thought I wont have much trouble with it not in use. I was wrong. Friday- The express cleaning end-up with all the towels taken away and, thats it. We found out when we were back in evening. We were left with no towels and on top of that the phone was not working so I had to go downstairs to inform the reception/staff , on night shift i suppose. Again they said would be there in 10 mins, which more or less they did. Saturday- There was a huge cockroach and I had to kill it myself, informed the staff downstairs but honestly I dont expect change of room or anything, just to feedback. From the above, you can see there were full of dramas and I think these are basic expectations.(especially the towel part) Would I be back there if I ever go Sydney again? Unlikely.

JJarvey AustriaI booked a room with a balcony but when I checked in they said it not available coz their system says standard twin room and showed then showers them My boking when they saw it they said they can’t provide that room on the first night so have to stay in a different room then they said they will bring my bags to the new room but ended up it was in the reception. That wrong system happens a couple of times already but they still haven’t fix the problem. Im not sure I’m gonna stay there again if ever I go back to Sydney. Their location was really good though.
