We spent 3 nights at Luo Han Lin Hotel, perched high in the mountains of the Luo Han Lin range, and honestly? It was exactly the kind of escape I didn't know I needed. 📍 Location & Vibe: Nature's Own Air Conditioning The hotel sits at about 1900 meters above sea level, deep within a forest that covers 98% of the surrounding area. Summer temperatures hover between 18°C–25°C (64°F–77°F)—no AC needed, even in August. The air is so clean it almost tastes sweet. 🛏 The Room: Waking Up Inside a Painting: I booked a family room, and the massive wraparound balcony was the real showstopper. Every morning, I'd step out to see clouds rolling through the valley below, with the sunrise painting the ridges in gold and pink. Evenings were just as magical—sunsets that turned the sky into a slow-burning fire. The room itself was modern and well-thought-out: smart controls, excellent water pressure, a spacious walk-in shower, and that crisp mountain chill seeping in at night. It feels less like a chain hotel and more like a quiet gallery in the clouds. --- 💁 Service & Amenities: Warmth in Every Detail From check-in to check-out, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome. Housekeeping was thorough and unobtrusive. There's also a small gym, a quiet reading lounge, and a kids' play area—so it works for couples, solo travelers, and families alike. Parking is free and spacious, which is great if you're driving up. --- 🍽 Food: Start Your Morning with a Spicy Kick Breakfast was surprisingly good—lots of fresh options, but the standout was the local Xuyong-style noodles: chewy, spicy, numbing, and absolutely addictive. For lunch and dinner, the hotel kitchen serves solid Sichuan cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. --- 📸 Nearby Gems Worth the Walk · Luzhou Peak Viewing Platform (~1 km walk) – sunrise and sea of clouds, hands down --- ⚠️ A Tiny Heads-Up If you're staying on the ground floor, keep the screen door closed—mountain ecology is very active, and a few friendly bugs might wander in at night. If that bothers you, ask for an upper floor when booking. --- Final Verdict: These 3 nights felt like a full system reboot. If you're looking for a summer getaway that's actually cool, quiet, and surrounded by nothing but green peaks and drifting clouds—Luo Han Lin Hotel is worth every mile of the drive up. I left with a full camera roll, clear lungs, and a much calmer mind. 👉 Would I go back? Yes, Without hesitation.

Parking was a bit of a hassle; we asked the front desk for directions and parked in the surface parking lot on the other side. The hotel's underground parking is a flight of stairs from the hotel, which is inconvenient for those with luggage. Everything else was great. There's an elevator, the rooms are spacious, and the facilities are complete and new. The front desk even provided makeup remover wipes and individually packaged sunscreen. Breakfast was also provided, and the price was good. Highly recommended.

Extremely friendly and supportive staff. During my stay I had a complicated travel in the area and hotel organized everything for me. Wonderful stay! Large rooms, very clean. Would always go there again.

Luzhou Xiyue Designer Hotel is absolutely fantastic! The design is superb, the courtyard is serene, and the rooms are clean and smart. The LOFT room type is super comfortable, and the breakfast is freshly made to order and authentically delicious. The service is attentive, and they offer coffee during the day and drinks at night. It's a peaceful oasis tucked away in a lively area, and getting around is very convenient. Highly recommend!

My overall stay exceeded expectations. The hotel's location is excellent, making it incredibly convenient for dining and shopping. The room had great natural light and was spotlessly clean. The bathroom featured a dry/wet separation design, and the hot water pressure was consistently good. The bedding was soft and comfortable, the mattress was just right (not too soft, not too hard), and the room had excellent soundproofing. The front desk staff were warm and polite, handling check-in and check-out efficiently. They were also prompt in responding to any requests. For this price, it offers exceptional value for money. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

1. The executive king room has a separate hot spring pool. The kids didn't want to leave after playing there. Highly recommended. 2. The hot springs are scattered in the woods. It is recommended to go once during the day and once at night to create two different a**ospheres. If you want to take photos, remember to prepare a waterproof bag for your phone in advance.

Pros: Close to the supermarket plaza and many street food outlets. Staff tried their best to serve you. Cons: Despite its name, railway station isn't that close. You need to take a taxi (or walk 30 minutes). Check-in process for foreigners will be very tiring (we had to wait 40 minutes in hotel lobby with extremely tired two kids, being questioned by staff about many things. We were asked 'why did you visit here', I thought this is a very ride question. Hotel should welcome guests instead of interrogating them especially when they're super tired after a long day. I'm not blaming the staff as they seem to be doing what they were told to do (protocol I suppose). But we didn't face such interrogating in any of the other hotels in China so I'm not sure why. Another inconvenience, the laundry facility doesn't have a dryer.. We ended up with a load of wet clothes after using the washing machine.. So be aware.

This stay experience was really satisfactory. The front desk was upgraded to a big bed room with a balcony for free in the late summer. It was quiet and comfortable. The room was clean and tidy, the facilities were complete and new, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and I slept until dawn. The breakfast buffet is fresh and rich, the location is convenient, the travel is very convenient, the room service staff is warm and thoughtful, responsive, cost-effective, will choose here next time, highly recommended!

Excellent value for money! I had a very comfortable sleep; the bedding, pillows, and mattress were all top-notch. The environment is really good and quiet, and the front desk service was very friendly. The location is easy to find, and they even provided two bottles of Nongfu Spring water.

When I checked in, I asked my sister at the front desk if she could write a blessing for me, and I would write a good review for this. So I saw my sister take my book, and my eyes were full of joy and enthusiasm, and I wrote a sincere blessing for me. I don't know if my little move has made her feel happy, I am very grateful for her blessings. I have had a great time in Zhangzhou these days!
