"Compared to when it first opened six years ago, the transportation is much more convenient now – the road in front has been repaired, and the lobby has added a special tea bar area and a children's play area. The hotel courtyard now connects to the scenic walking trail next door, making it livelier, but also less tranquil. For the same price, six years ago you could get an unobstructed view room with a bathtub; now you have to pay an extra 200 [yuan/local currency unit] for that. The self-built houses next door now block most of the view. However, the top-floor hot spring and sauna still offer a complete view of the Yingxi Peak Forest. Given that the overall economic environment hasn't improved compared to six years ago, I feel the value for money has decreased significantly. Indeed, it's true that 'nothing is as good as the first time'… It's okay, but I probably won't be coming back."

"The service of Qihu Hotel was very considerate. They upgraded me to two lake view rooms for free and also gave me free fruits. The hotel room was also very nice, clean and tidy. When we checked out, the front desk staff helped us carry our luggage to the parking lot, and also gave us tea and several bottles of water for us to drink during the trip. A very good experience! "The hotel is located on 'Swan Lake' which made for pretty photos from our room balcony. The rooms were clean and spacious, with bottled water replaced every day. There was a fridge, but no mini bar. It was very quiet when we stayed, it seemed like tour groups came for 1 night then left the next The attractions the other side of the lake was fun. We loved the glass bridge and the motorboats as well as the bumper cars and road train. You will need to pay extra for some of the attractions, but at a minimal cost. The cave was amazing, and the lighting helps with the atmosphere. Our guide spoke in Mandarin, but this didn't hinder our enjoyment, plus other tourists were happy to translate 😀. There was lots of choice at breakfast, but it didn't really change from one day to the next. I rekindled my love of boiled peanuts! The hot springs were indeed hot, but they were a little rundown, with some of the spa areas not working. Over all, We had a lovely stay. The staff were friendly and helpful."

"I was really satisfied with this hotel. The environment is simply fantastic, like a mini Yangshuo! You can just relax and enjoy your vacation here. I've already recommended it to my friends. "I stayed at the Chocolate Kingdom Hotel in mid-October. At that time, some facilities were already showing their age and seemed a bit neglected, and there were fewer staff members. However, I truly felt their dedication in every service they provided; their excellent service more than made up for any shortcomings in the hardware. We had a hot spring package. The hot springs were less crowded during the day and more so at night, so it was good to go at off-peak times. The package also included two-day tickets to Chocolate Wonderland, and at that time, there was a shuttle cart service. When I went back in December, the shuttle was gone, so I want to warn fellow travelers that if you're not driving yourself, think very carefully before booking, as it's a 20-minute walk from the park to the hotel. But since there was a shuttle service in October, and I genuinely felt their dedication in every service, I'm giving a good review for that stay. For December, I'd give a bad review."

My wife asked for pickled mustard greens, which she had to buy right away. The fried noodles were good, but we had to wait in line to order more, and we didn't even finish our meal. I understand a simple B&B breakfast, but it's a bit unfair for guests to pay the price of a five-star luxury hotel in a first-tier city only to get such a simple breakfast. Also, since National Day is peak season, shouldn't the hotel be prepared in advance? Furthermore, the proprietress was stingy when serving breakfast, using the guise of saving money and avoiding waste to refuse extra portions. While avoiding waste is commendable, achieving perfect moderation is impossible. Again, compared to the 1610 yuan room rate, those few ears of corn, sweet potatoes, and fried noodles are only a fraction of the room rate. Secondly, although the restaurant has put effort into its facilities, they still fall short of those of a hotel."

The tea tree is an old one. I made Yinghong No. 9 green tea myself. When I got home and drank it, it was comparable to the raw Pu'er tea from the ancient tree. There is a Chocolate Kingdom 2.8 kilometers away. There is no need to queue during the National Day holiday. Children under 1.4 meters tall can enjoy all the activities. 4 Complain about breakfast. Booked a suite with breakfast, but only 2 breakfasts were provided. Children over 1.4 meters tall will be charged 38 yuan for breakfast. It feels like the dim sum is not freshly made and the quality is so-so. During my two-day stay, I only ate freshly made soup noodles and vegetables. 5 The food in the self-operated restaurant next to the hotel is very good. Went there twice. Suggestion for the hotel: It would be perfect if the breakfast could be improved."

"I had a weekend getaway at this hotel. Even though it was a busy weekend, the cabin area was beautifully enclosed and spacious enough to give a complete sense of privacy and relaxation. The getaway was fantastic! The view from the balcony was simply unforgettable, surrounded by a peaceful and harmonious bamboo forest, making the air feel healing. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was especially delicious, setting a great tone for the whole day. Plus, it's pet-friendly, which made us so happy to bring our furry friends along! Even better, the hotel offers complimentary kayaking, and there's a large outdoor hot tub right by the cabin where we could add hot water ourselves – it was incredibly comfortable, making us never want to leave. As a foreigner who doesn't speak Chinese, I was amazed and pleased by how patient the staff were; they always found a way to communicate with me. There were no language barriers affecting my experience; instead, it made me feel incredibly well-cared for. Overall, the value for money here is outstanding, far exceeding the price. With beautiful surroundings, great service, rich experiences, and being pet-friendly, it's rare to find such an affordable yet luxurious vacation experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature!"

During my stay, they were incredibly responsive to every request, and I even received a parting gift when I checked out. The room facilities were fantastic, and because there weren't many guests, they proactively upgraded my room. The room was well-equipped, and the guesthouse's scenery was absolutely beautiful – it felt like I was living right inside a picturesque landscape. They also provided complimentary tickets to the tea plantation, which is very close by, though I'd say it's an optional visit.
