Cheap Hotels in Budapest

"The room was as cute as pictured. I stayed for 3 days, but I was bothered by the smell in the bathroom. I don't think the exhaust fan was working. It was fine when showering, but it was a shame that there was a strong sewage smell when I woke up and went to the bathroom or before showering. Also, there are shops within walking distance of the hotel, but after 8 PM, when it gets dark, I felt that the area was less safe compared to the Buda Castle area. The subway and buses were very convenient as they accepted credit card tap payments, but I think it would be more economical for guests staying at this hotel to buy and use a pass. The subway fare was a flat 500 HUF, regardless of distance."

"Excellent hotel, centrally located right next to the metro and the airport bus stop. Plenty of cafes and all the main attractions are within walking distance. I'd particularly like to highlight the delicious breakfasts with a wide variety of options. The cafe itself is decorated in a modern style, making it a pleasant place to be."

"Well, I didn't take many photos of this hotel. Perhaps I had high expectations because of its name – a castle and gardens! But the actual accommodation area wasn't very large, and it wasn't even inside the castle, but rather on the side. However, the location was good, very close to Fisherman's Bastion, about a ten-minute walk. We even went to see the sunrise there."

"Wow, what a fantastic place. Effectively next door neighbour to the Magnificent State Opera House, Lovely old building building, the main interior staircase has got a 1930’s East European Style, I loved it. Check in was easy, all the staff were absolutely lovely. The room itself was fantastic, lovely modern comfort whilst maintaining some of the period features. The modern toilet/shower room was again fantastic, bed super comfortable and big, lovely lighting, nice comfortable chairs, writing desk, safe, fridge, ironing board, big wardrobe, nice carpets. This stay was outstanding value, I would very happily stay here every time. Super city, super road, neighbours and stay. Outstanding."

"The stay was pleasant. Check-in was fine, and the room was acceptable, safe, clean, and quiet. The attractions I wanted to visit were all nearby, which was great."

"A pleasant impression from the very beginning: easy to get to, and the hotel is located in a beautiful building. The interior is also very cozy. We stayed in a suite – it was definitely worth it. A large room with a comfortable armchair area by the table, and a beautiful bathtub right in the room. However, we didn't use it as we felt it hadn't been cleaned well enough. The separate shower and toilet are convenient. Lots of space, wardrobes, and surfaces to place your belongings. We had an enormous suitcase for a bike, and even that found a place. A misunderstanding arose when calling a taxi to the airport: we had to contact reception three times to clarify the details. In the end, we were charged more at the airport than agreed upon. But I don't think this will be an issue for others if you don't travel with oversized luggage. Otherwise, it's very beautiful and cozy. The breakfast is small and simple, but sufficient for 2-3 days. Everything was fresh and tasty."

"The hotel is in a great location, with a metro station nearby, which makes it easy to get around the city. It takes no more than 10–15 minutes to reach the centre of Budapest by metro. The breakfast offers a good selection of food. On the downside, the bed linen was not very clean — I found quite a few hairs on it and noticed a couple of ants in the bathroom. Overall, I am satisfied with my choice of hotel."

"You Hotel Budapest Handwritten Collection is a great choice if you’re looking for an affordable place to stay in the heart of the city. The location is excellent, with many of Budapest’s main attractions, restaurants, cafés, and public transport options within easy walking distance. The hotel is practical, clean, and comfortable, offering everything you need for a city break without unnecessary extras. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with directions or recommendations. If you’re after good value for money in a convenient location, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again."

"The hotel is convenient and clean, though the bathroom is a bit small. It's close to the train station, making it easy to get around. The breakfast place was hard to find; I tried the 13-euro buffet once, which offered typical simple Western food – worth a try. I took a Bolt from the international bus station, which cost about 15 euros."

"All round the Corinthia Budapest is a great hotel with good prices and excellent service from very friendly employees throughout the hotel. Excellent spar. Relaxed lounge areas. The bedroom on fifth floor was very nice clean and comfortable. The heating system is set at a high temperature which can become quite uncomfortable in the middle of the night. Loved the Christmas decorations and Christmas Sunday brunch with free flowing beverages.  Very tasty food in the restaurant. The only issues we would highlight is the problem with the hotel being so big that the breakfast restaurant gets very crowded with delayed self service causing the food to become cold by time you sit down. This is also due to many guests leaving the Bain Marie food service warmer lids open as they are rushing to get food. Also the coffee is machines are not good quality or require servicing as the coffee was warm or cold once milk or cream was added. This was the case everyday over 5 days we never got a hot coffee.  Hot food and drinks are very important and this was unfortunately the only let down during our stay.  Hence the reason for a lower review score.  Aside from this I would recommend the hotel."
