Hotel Veritas
"Upon arrival, we discovered the fridge was not working and emitted a moldy smell, which required us to air out the room. Although a staff member firstly advised that we can leave our food in staff fridge for the night and he can't change it, he eventually replaced the fridge with a functional one later that evening. Later in the evening water started leaking from the ceiling due to a malfunctioning air conditioner. A staff member attempted to adjust the air conditioner, but the next day, a section of the suspended ceiling, along with metal parts from the air conditioner, fell to the floor due to the moisture. Fortunately, my children were in different parts of the room when this happened, but it could have been a serious safety hazard as one of them at the time of ceiling failure was in the bathroom which was 1 meter from the spot where it happened. A member of staff collected the fallen ceiling parts, but the water leakage persisted throughout the night. We were offered drinks at the bar as compensation, but since it was 11 PM and we were with our children, we asked the hotel to cover our parking instead. The staff member assured us that this would be no problem. Upon checking out, we discovered a thick layer of dust under the sofa, which was pulled out when we arrived. Tiles on the balcony ceiling had already fallen and shattered before our arrival, indicating a pattern of neglect. When we handed in the keys, we were informed that the owner refused to cover our parking fees as previously promised by staff and the owner attempted to blame us for overusing the air conditioner, which had been set by their staff. The hotel is incredibly run-down. Electrical outlets hang out of the walls, all lamps are filled with dead insects, and there are no kettles or tableware in the room. The safe had no batteries, and although the TV worked, we had to connect the antenna cable ourselves. The only thing that I can list as relatively adequate is the breakfast. They were not ready to serve for the amount of people that were actually having the breakfast, but when trays were filled it was fine."
Aquaworld Resort Budapest
"A very nice hotel for families, great water park and services, the food needs an improvement"
Aria Hotel Budapest by Library Hotel Collection

Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection
"We stayed at the Dorothea Hotel for 3 nights and had a really nice time. We got a room upgrade offer when we arrived, but after checking out the Contemporary room with a street view, we decided to stick with our original choice, an Atrium room. It's not as bright, but it feels more private and fancy, and it had a balcony. We were out on that balcony at least twice a day, sipping wine and looking down at the atrium. It felt like a bit of luxury. I also think the Atrium rooms are probably quieter. Breakfast was really good. Lots of options, a buffet, and an a la carte menu all for free. Table service was great, though a little less so on the last day when it got pretty busy. The staff was very welcoming everywhere in the hotel. I'd totally recommend staying there, especially for the amazing price we snagged on Trip, which was easily half of what we found anywhere else."
Kimpton BEM BUDAPEST by IHG

"Excellent location right in city centre. Staff is very polite and helpful. Rooms are huge with laundry rooms to do your own laundry."
Wonder - The Luxury Boutique Hotel
"From the UK, we would absolutely recommend this hotel - the location is perfect! This hotel is clearly very new, everything was very clean & staff very friendly. The location is 10/10, you’re a 5 minute walk to the centre & there is a parade of street food shops literally over the road. The beds are comfy, the bathroom is lovely. The only negative is that the TV only has news or ‘bare knuckle boxing’ (?) channels in English and kept stalling, you also can’t stretch your own Netflix as it says not available in this country, would be good if they could attach Netflix to the tv? But literally that’s the only negative! We would 100% stay here again."
