"Merlynn Park Hotel Jakarta — A Surprisingly Great Family Stay Sometimes, a hotel is not just about how luxurious it looks, but how comfortable your family feels from the moment you walk through the door. Merlynn Park Hotel Jakarta delivered exactly that. The location is one of its biggest advantages. Situated in Central Jakarta, it is very close to Monas and within easy reach of major shopping areas and attractions. For a family travelling around Jakarta, the location makes getting around considerably more convenient. The hotel itself is big, spacious and strategically located. The lobby is particularly impressive — very large, comfortable, and filled with plenty of seating areas where families can relax while waiting for check-in. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink and traditional Indonesian snacks, which was a nice touch. Check-in was smooth and fast. I also appreciated the security system in the lifts, where access to the guest floors is controlled. It gives you an extra sense of security, especially when travelling with children. Our Family Suite We chose the Family Suite with two queen-sized beds, and this was probably one of the best decisions for our stay. The room was spacious and modern, with more than enough room for our large luggage — and still plenty of space to move around comfortably. For us as a Muslim family, I also appreciated having enough space to pray comfortably, with the Qibla direction provided. And of course, the bathtub was a big hit with the kids! The room also came with a coffee and tea-making facility, including Earl Grey, together with the usual toiletries and amenities. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped, with a separate bathtub and shower. Breakfast — One of the Highlights Breakfast deserves a special mention. The variety was genuinely impressive, with a wide selection covering international, Chinese and Indonesian cuisine. There was something for everyone, and the Indonesian selections in particular gave us a chance to enjoy local flavours without having to leave the hotel. It is the kind of breakfast where you walk in thinking, “I’ll just have a little,” and somehow end up going back for another plate. Pool & Gym The swimming pool and fitness centre were another pleasant surprise. The pool area is spacious and relaxing, with greenery and city views. There are also shaded areas where you can sit and enjoy the atmosphere without spending the entire afternoon under the Jakarta sun. For me, one of the nicest details was being able to relax by the pool while enjoying the view towards Monas. What Made the Difference But beyond the room, breakfast and facilities, what really stood out to us was the hospitality. My family felt welcomed from the moment we entered the hotel. The security staff were consistently courteous, greeting us respectfully whenever we entered or left the property. Those small gestures may seem insignificant, but when you are travelling with your family, they make a difference. Overall, Merlynn Park Hotel gave us exactly what we wanted from a family stay in Jakarta — space, comfort, convenience and genuine Indonesian hospitality. It may be a large hotel, but our experience felt warm and personal. A very good stay. A very happy family. And definitely a hotel I would consider staying at again when we return to Jakarta."

"Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The hotel’s location is very strategic, with easy access to nearby attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. The breakfast was delicious, offering a good variety of food, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service throughout my stay. However, I believe the cleanliness could be improved. I found a small cockroach in the bathroom, which was disappointing and affected my overall experience. I hope the hotel will pay more attention to pest control and housekeeping, as this would make the stay even better."

"The staff service was excellent, and I was completely satisfied from check-in to check-out. The staff used WhatsApp to check in and attend to guests' needs, which was very thoughtful. The facilities include an indoor swimming pool, gym, billiards, and table tennis. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection, with various fresh fruits cut and juiced on the spot – very fresh and plentiful. The room was very spacious. However, I don't recommend the hotel's spa; the quality was mediocre. A 2-hour session costs 828,000, and I believe you could find much better options for that price."

The TV couldn't stream digital content, but they provided eco-friendly water bottles for drinking water. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, and the breakfast selection is quite varied and generally good. Overall, it offers excellent value for money."

"overall, a very pleasant stay and hotel staff were excellent and polite. 1. in less than 3 minutes after calling front desk, a housekeeping staff came by to teach how to activate the dryer mode for the laundry machine. if a washing mode with multiple steps is in use, please note you might need to manually tap on the “play” button to proceed to the next step, so plan your laundry accordingly. 2. the room was left on dnd for more than a day and the hotel contacted us via whatsapp to verify that cleaning was not needed. requested for amenities to be placed right at the door and the request was well fulfilled. 3. had ordered a package that only arrived after i checked out of the hotel. i had informed the hotel about this potential issue before leaving and they promptly followed up on it. they followed the step by step instructions and it was a hassle-free coordination. (please note that courier from the hotel and to your home address has to be self-arranged.) 4. complimentary parking is available. i eventually did not request it, but all you have to let front desk know in advance is the vehicle plate number. extra pillows are available in the closet. the ample space in the kitchen area allowed for more space for laundry and baggage. location is quite central to major malls and some iconic landmarks. however, if you are travelling with elderly, children (or a light sleeper), you will hear the daily morning prayers from the nearby mosque at around 4.30am local time. i’d recommend anyone staying here to bring some earplugs. it wasn’t an issue for me as i slept off it after the first occurrence. some timestamps by car 1. banyard ~30mins in AM 2. cgk airport ~60mins in late AM (book a Grab ride at least 2 hours in advance for stress-free experience) 3. gould cafe ~8mins in AM 4. mori tower ~8mins in AM"
