Cheap Hotels in Toba

"The hot spring, dinner, and breakfast were all very satisfying. The buffet-style dinner and breakfast, in particular, were incredibly luxurious with a wide variety of options that would appeal to all ages. Especially the seafood – sashimi, sushi, shrimp, scallops, squid, octopus – so much to choose from! There was also Matsusaka beef hot pot and stew, and a rich selection of fruits and desserts. During dinner, we experienced a minor incident, but we were incredibly impressed by the staff's quick response and thoughtfulness. Truly wonderful hospitality and consideration, and the reassuring feeling that staff in every position share information effectively! I am sincerely grateful. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay at Toba Seaside Hotel again."

"An old style western hotel but in general clean. The staff very nice and helpful. I asked them to help phone a restaurant make booking. I didn't realize the restaurant did not open yet. The hotel staff tried calling the restaurant a few times but no one answered. Finally, the hotel staff sent the restaurant a message. I didn't request the hotel staff to do so but they did it on their own. Without the hotel message to the restaurant, we would not be able to have a nice osyter buffet. Thanks them very much. If I have to complain, I should say they have to clean the bath room more thoroughly. The toilet and bath room inside the room were just totally renovated a few years but there were already black stains and mould on the wall near the bath tub. Also, there's dust on the hand rail in the toilet."

"As expected from a hotel with such history and tradition, it's truly wonderful. The service is, of course, excellent, and the French dinner was superb. Breakfast is a buffet, and it can feel a bit rushed due to the crowds, but there's plenty to enjoy. The onsen (bath) is a bit of a walk, but it's very good. I was surprised by how many foreigners there were, and it was interesting to see them all wearing yukata and seemingly accustomed to the onsen experience. "The photos are exactly the same as the actual situation. The hotel is a bit old but very clean and hygienic. The room has a personal hot spring which is very nice. The breakfast is also very delicious. I plan to stay here once a year in the future."

"If you’re looking for an authentic ryokan experience with modern comfort, Shiojitei is an exceptional choice. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality made us feel genuinely welcomed. The staff were attentive, professional, and always ready to help, creating a level of service that truly stands out. The rooms were beautifully maintained, combining traditional Japanese elements with contemporary comfort. One of the highlights was definitely the Pearl Aurora Onsen, which was incredibly relaxing and left my skin feeling amazingly smooth. The complimentary welcome tea and cheesecake, along with the evening marshmallow roasting by the lobby, were thoughtful touches that made the stay feel extra special. Both dinner and breakfast exceeded expectations. Every course was beautifully presented, featuring fresh local ingredients and refined flavours that made each meal feel like a special occasion. Dining in a peaceful, private setting made the experience even more memorable. The hotel also offers a convenient shuttle service from Toba Station, making it easy to reach despite its tranquil location. Overall, Shiojitei perfectly balances traditional Japanese hospitality, excellent cuisine, and a relaxing atmosphere. It was one of the most memorable stays of my trip, and I would gladly return on my next visit to the Ise-Shima region."

"The hotel is very overpriced for an old facility.  We booked an oceanview room but the windows are blocked with bars and can barely be opened.  Our room on the second floor could barely see the ocean.  Furniture and decoration scream OLD.   Most front desk workers are not Japanese.  They claim to have an ”international crew” but the problem is they don't know much about Japan.  When we asked the doorman about taking trains, he didn't have a crew because he just got to Japan from another Asian country.  On the other hand, the restaurants only have Japanese workers and no one speaks English.  We booked an 8-course dinner.  The chef was going around to explain the dishes to guests but just left us when he found out we don't speak Japanese.  The menu is in Japanese only.   This hotel also charged us at 135:1 foreign exchange rate while all other hotels charged 142-144:1 JPY-USD.  It's not a foreigner friendly hotel and way overpriced for what it is."

"Although it's newly renovated and clean, the air freshener sprayed in the hallway was so strong it was toxic. I had to cover my nose every time I walked through. The buffet offered a variety of dishes to enjoy. There was plenty of seafood, but the quality was rather low. The cakes tasted very much like frozen cakes, and I wish there were more varieties of fruit. The staff who spoke excellent Japanese were very friendly and pleasant! The guy at the front desk needs to try harder. The amenities were plentiful, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the welcome tea."

"The room was clean and hygienic. There were many kinds of buffets in the morning and evening. I liked the indoor playground and comic room for children on the basement floor. The sea view surprised me. It was very close to Dolphin Island."
