"The hotel is in good location, my room happens to face another building so there is no view. I booked on 27 July to 1 st August then continue to 1st to 8th August 2026. I told the receptionist on 31st July shall my current room is empty, we prefer not to move, even though we paid for higher room category on the 1st aug, because we donot to move back and forth with so many luggages which is wasting time and energy, but the hotel staff replied my room will be occupied as hotel is full on 1st aug. This morning 1st aug we packed up so many luggages and belongings as in the photo on the way to new room, the staff kindly asked us, notifying shall we are going back to our original queen bed apartment tomorrow It’s better we do not move. Thus, She looked up in her data and finally we could use the same room today. It was such unpleasant and tiring to pack up then unpack to go back forth to the same room in half day, how could these be happening? And we also lost our white towel that we hanged so hotel doesn’t have to laundry as per notes. It’s unfortunate the staff yesterday did not thoroughly help us."

"Overall a good location as there are 2 tram stops just a quick 3 to 5 mins walk away from the apartment. There is a minimart and 7-11 just downstairs, convenient for picking up necessities. The apartment was quite big and had very useful amenities like a washer, dryer and fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher and big fridge. Unfortunately, the air-conditioner wasn't the best for me as it was a standing type located near the window in the living room. Despite adjusting to the lowest temperature and highest fan speed, the bedroom was still quite warm. Body wash, shampoo, hair conditioner and towels were provided but not toothbrush, comb or bottled water. There was a kettle provided but I would prefer having bottled water provided daily. I was also surprised that housekeeping was not provided for my 5-nights stay. Fresh towels can be requested by hanging a sign on the door before 8 am. Generally a good stay but do note that the reception counter is not open 24 hours, so if you arrive outside these timings, separate arrangements should probably be pre-arranged."

"We had a wonderful stay at YTI Garden Hotel Melbourne. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with fresh bed sheets, soft pillows, and clean towels provided. We especially appreciated the convenient kitchenette, which included a microwave, electric stove, and cooking utensils, making it easy to prepare simple meals during our stay. The hotel thoughtfully provided most essentials, so we only needed to bring our own toothbrush and toothpaste. The location is excellent, safe for families and just a short walk from major attractions, shopping malls, restaurants, and cafés. Most importantly, the staff were exceptionally kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay, always willing to assist with any questions or requests. Their warm hospitality made our visit even more enjoyable. Thank you to the entire team at YTI Garden Hotel Melbourne for a pleasant and memorable stay. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to other travelers."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right in front of an MRT station, making transportation very convenient. There's also a small convenience store and a mala tang restaurant nearby. The main source of noise comes from the adjacent parking garage, where people sometimes chat, get drunk, and shout. Generally, the hotel staff are friendly and helpful, and the cleaning staff are also very willing to provide whatever you need. Plus, having a small kitchenette is a bonus, and you can exchange or borrow a hairdryer. For the price, it definitely offers good value. So, for the other aspects like noise, wearing earplugs helps, and the cleanliness is also up to par."

"This hotel boasts an excellent location, right near the University of Melbourne. There's a bus stop directly in front of the hotel, and you can also walk two blocks to catch a tram. The front desk staff were very professional and friendly. The rooms are well-equipped and apartment-style, making them perfect for family trips."

"I arrived around 1 PM after an overnight flight, only to be told check-in was at 3 PM. Fine, I left my luggage and explored the area. When I came back at 3, the front desk assigned me a lower floor. I asked if there was a higher floor available, and they suggested I pay extra for a two-bedroom unit if I wanted to be higher up. OK, so I paid the difference and, as a solo traveler, ended up in a large unit with two bedrooms and three beds. To my surprise, the living room TV was ancient, couldn't cast anything, and didn't offer Netflix or similar services. The master bedroom's air conditioning wasn't working, and two out of the four burners on the stove were broken. I quickly called the front desk to send someone for repairs/adjustments. The service attitude was good; they fixed what they could, but the old TV was just that – old. I stayed for 14 days, and only once did someone come for housekeeping and change the sheets. For any other service, I had to pay extra. My flight out of Australia was in the evening, so I asked if I could have a late check-out. The answer was yes, but at a charge of AUD 30 per hour, no negotiation. I felt it was a bit inhumane not to be more flexible with check-out times for a guest who stayed for two weeks! The advantage of this hotel is its convenient location. Other than that, they pretty much stick to the rules. Don't expect any extra warmth or personalized service."

"Getting here by light rail is very convenient, but the metro station is a bit of a walk, about 15 minutes away. Parking downstairs is also difficult, which can be inconvenient if you've booked a pick-up/drop-off service. The room is fully equipped with an open-plan kitchen and a washing machine, plus a small balcony with a view. My only complaint is that the toiletries were a bit lacking. They only provided a few bars of soap and shampoo. I was really expecting body wash... Since it's an apartment-style accommodation, there's no room service. You also have to take out your own trash bags to the building's rubbish chute. I felt the everyday essentials were a little too basic. The front desk staff's tone was a bit cold, almost indifferent. Perhaps that's just a Melbourne characteristic, but I still find it a bit off-putting."

"The room looked nothing like the pictures – it was dark, old, and had a strong, unpleasant smell when we walked in. Even after airing it out with open windows, the smell persisted. It's an older hotel, and when you enter, you're greeted by two single beds. My 180cm-tall husband found them too short to stretch out comfortably. I'm giving it three stars, two of which are definitely for its great location. I originally chose an apartment because I didn't want to eat Western food and hoped to cook, but the facilities and the smell completely put me off from cooking. The location is very convenient; the tram is just a 5-minute walk away, and shopping is easy. Flinders Street Station is less than 10 minutes away, and Chinatown is also about a 10-minute walk. It's also very close to the State Library. Since the hotel's internet was so slow, my kids ended up going to the library to finish their online classes using the public Wi-Fi, and the study atmosphere there was excellent."

"Parking costs AUD 20 per night, but I wasn't told that I'd have to pay extra if I left and returned, which made me feel ripped off. I needed an HDMI cable for work to connect to the TV in my room, and it took a lot of negotiating with the front desk to get one. There was a lot of unnecessary hassle, and I wish borrowing basic amenities like this could be more streamlined. I stayed during the Christmas holiday, and it seems breakfast wasn't included, so I had to go out to eat. The bathroom in my room type only had a curtain, not a proper door. The windows looked quite dirty with a lot of dust outside. The pool had many leaves floating on the surface, and no one seemed to be cleaning it, so I didn't use it. I guess all these issues were probably due to a lack of staff during the holiday period."

"It was on amazing location one minutes walk to new year fireworks. Pizza, cafe, Bars, Woolies,Aldi, just down the building and district of Dockland shopping center in 3minites walk, 2 minutes walk to public parking. Appartments has its own car park that you have to pay extra. 24/7 help desk. Fully secured place. We enjoyed our stay. Beds in rooms were ok, sofa bed was not comfortable, you literally feel the springs poking your back. We were 5 people so we needed that extra bed which was disappointment."
