The Westin Melbourne

The room was spacious and quiet, and it even had a balcony where we could take great photos with the church in the background. The location is also very convenient, right in the city center. The front desk staff were very helpful and even let us check in early. I would definitely want to stay here again!

I stayed at the Park Hyatt Melbourne on my solo trip and was very satisfied with the overall experience. The room was spacious and quiet, and the housekeeping was meticulous. The bedding was comfortable, leading to a great night's sleep. The hotel environment is elegant, and the location is quite convenient, with a luxurious ambiance throughout. The staff were professional and polite; both check-in and check-out were very smooth. The facilities are well-maintained, making for a relaxing stay. It exceeded my expectations overall, and I'll definitely prioritize staying here again next time I'm in Melbourne.

The room layout was decent, and the environment was acceptable. However, the water bottle provided in the room was a bit dirty. The check-in benefits were not clearly explained, and it seemed like the bedsheets weren't changed during my three-day stay. The location is excellent for tourists, very close to Chinatown and other city attractions, and it's also quiet.

Had a comfortable stay for 3 nights. Hotel about 15-20mins walk from city centre and can pop onto tram in free tram zone. Toilet bowl had a smelly drainage smell which holds presence in the air everytime you flush, was pretty unpleasant.

Realistically, it's night and day the types of service you are afforded for a few extra $100's, in essentially all western / non-western countries.. Not in Australia. Air con vibrated all night long = zero sleep, maintenance came the following day, his advice was to run the air con on the lowest possible fan speed.. Lol love that for summer, they never offered another room, or any kind of compensation for the poor hospitality. Instead... what I needed to understand, only after I've left the lobby, collected my car from parking $65 per night BTW.. And look on an already entirely pre-paid stay... Oop only another $700 charge... Wouldn't bother staying again, and I hope they've got a bloody good reason or rectify it asap because otherwise it's going to ACCC.. And I have nothing better to do than spend spend daddy's money his gone.

Sheraton Melbourne Hotel

This hotel deserves a five-star review! I wish I had stayed at the Sheraton for my entire trip to Melbourne. It's in the city center, which is incredibly convenient, and even late at night, around 8-9 PM, there are still plenty of people around, making it feel very safe. When I checked in, there was a Chinese-speaking staff member available. Although the person who actually checked me in was of Indian descent, a Chinese colleague came over to make sure everything was alright before leaving. They even offered me a complimentary glass of champagne! The hotel room was spacious and clean, definitely the best I've stayed in during my past two weeks in Sydney and Melbourne. It certainly lived up to expectations! Right outside the hotel, there's a Rolex store, and if you walk down the street, you'll find the Town Hall and a church. There are plenty of options for dining, entertainment, and shopping. It's also not far from Australia's famous WWL? Or was it WWs?

For my 21-day trip to Australia, I stayed at 11 hotels, mainly across Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Here’s my ranking of the hotels from best to worst in terms of overall experience (I've also noted their value for money, considering the price): 1. Capella Sydney (low value for money) 2. Park Hyatt Melbourne (high value for money) 3. InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto (average value for money) 4. Crown Towers Melbourne (high value for money) 5. Le Méridien Melbourne (average value for money) 6. Hilton Adelaide (average value for money) 7. The Langham Melbourne (low value for money) 8. Citadines on Bourke Melbourne (excellent value for money) 9. Meriton Suites Waterloo, Sydney (high value for money) 10. Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel Melbourne (low value for money) 11. The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne (very low value for money) As for Le Méridien Melbourne, there's not much to say, honestly. It's a pretty standard international 5-star hotel. The location is good; Parliament House is very close, and Chinatown and Flinders Street Station are all within walking distance. The service and facilities meet expectations, though the outdoor pool was too cold to use in the mornings.

I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel, and my first day was great. The pool facilities were excellent, and I even had the whole pool to myself when I went for a swim. However, on the second day, when I returned to my room at 10:30 PM, it hadn't been cleaned at all. There was just a sign saying to notify them if I needed housekeeping. Seriously, at 10:30 PM, do I have time to wait for them to clean a room that hasn't been touched, with nothing moved? I'm extremely disappointed with W's service. This isn't even peak season for the hotel, why wasn't the room cleaned? Is it because they knew I was only staying two nights, so they treat a solo guest like this? I can't accept it. I don't even bother calling to complain anymore.

The location is super convenient, right in the heart of the CBD, easy to find, and most major attractions are within walking distance. The surroundings are very quiet, and there's a fantastic brunch spot and dinner restaurant right outside the door. The facilities are a bit old, and the room isn't particularly spacious. Soundproofing is average, but it does have a bathtub and is very clean. It's a hotel with great value for money, highly recommended. In terms of service, early check-in can be arranged, but the staff all seemed very rushed, and while not rude, their service attitude wasn't exactly satisfactory.

InterContinental MELBOURNE by IHG

I booked this hotel during a Ctrip promotion, and honestly, the price was a steal at 1000/night. First, the pros: Location: It's right in the city center, first ring, free zone. You can take the tram for a free city walk. If you're on a day tour, the bus pick-up point is just a two-minute walk away. The front desk staff, Holy, and the senior gentleman from concierge were both very nice. Now, for the cons: The coffee spoon wasn't clean, it was dirty. The minibar fridge had cooling issues; the bottom was full of water. These, I could overlook. However, and seriously, as a Hyatt Globalist, I rarely stay at InterContinental, and I have never, in all my previous experiences, encountered an unlocked room door. I left my room early Friday morning for a day tour and returned at 9:30 PM to find my room door unlocked, just as pictured. I was shocked. The next day, I spoke to the duty manager, and they checked the surveillance footage, confirming that no one had entered my room. But my stay experience was truly poor. Such carelessness, forgetting to lock the guest's door after cleaning. Plus, this hotel's elevators don't require a room card swipe. At 9:30 PM, both the front desk and concierge were empty, making it easy for anyone to access any floor. I somewhat regret not spending a bit more to stay at the Grand Hyatt. Also, I heard this hotel is rebranding to Regent, oh my! InterContinental truly feels like a makeshift operation. To think they dare to rebrand to Regent like this! This hotel usually sells at the same price as the Grand Hyatt, and if it weren't for this promotion, I definitely wouldn't have chosen it. InterContinental left such a terrible impression on me; it's really hard not to come here and complain.
