The Devonian ★★★
"The boss lady came to help me very late. She is very nice and the breakfast is great."
The Town House ★★★★
"Great location and in close proximity to The Strand - Douglas' shopping area. The Hotel was clean and the room was very comfortable. Our room was well supplied with basic kitchen amenities for preparing basic meals. Laundry and fitness facilities were more than sufficient in meeting our needs. We cannot thank Katya for all of her help in getting us settled and for making our stay comfortable including having basic grocery staples were provided for our arrival to get us started. Katya provided information on convenient parking, ideas on where to grocery shop, restaurant choices etc. Also, Katya was very responsive to our questions and/or requests. The Town House had a family atmosphere though we rarely saw the other guests - quiet. Well maintained and clean - thank you to the maintenance and housekeeping team for immediately addressing any of our questions."
Best Western Palace Hotel Casino ★★★★
"This hotel was supposed to be a 4 star in would rate it 2 at best. All the carpets are threadbare very unclean the hotel is very outdated upon booking a asked both rooms to be near lift one not to bad the other was nearly at the other end only do rooms service every 3 days pretty bad for a 4 star will never stay again"
The Empress Hotel ★★★★
"Nice and classic, really enjoyed my stay :)"
At Caledonia ★★★
"The hotel is very dated but clean. Shower was amazing ! Room was spacious with a separate dressing room. The out look from the windows wasn't good. We overlooked more windows on one side and a rock face on the other. There's a very small lift upto the rooms but steps upto the front door. It's a long walk to amenities. Plus we were doing the Manx Rally and talking to other competitors, we paid twice as much for the accommodation with NO breakfast, we're they paid less and got breakfast. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel but it was never open for the duration of our stay."
Regency Hotel ★★★★
"The Regency has a slightly bygone era feel to it. Service, decor, appearance... And it's so much better for it's old fashioned standards of guest care and service The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The restaurant serves quality fare. The view right over the bay is beautiful whilst it's only about a mile walk into central Douglas. Excellent hotel and staff "
Edelweiss Guest House ★★★
"This hotel is just what you need. Lots of powerful springs on the doors, very good breakfast, lots of stairs but there is a lift. The staff were very helpful and made fantastic take out sandwiches for your lunch for only £3 and even made a take out breakfast so you can catch the early ferry. It’s handy for the delightful Queens pub too"
The Penta ★★★
"Really nice location on the seafront, great value and walking distance in to the city centre."
Arrandale House ★★★
"I’m sure we all have fond memories of staying in seaside small bed & breakfast hotels in our youth. To tell the truth those places as we remember them would not stand up to modern expectations. Arrandale does and does not match up to those modern expectations but it gets enough right that so long as you’re not too precious about certain things then it can certainly serve as a decent enough base for exploring Douglas and beyond. My room at least did have a rather decent en-suite and although the bedrooms themselves don’t have air conditioning the en-suite did have some sort of extractor fan. There’s a good TV in the rooms, a kettle is provided with sachets for tea and coffee and even biscuits are provided. I got a good night’s sleep there on both nights but I had to keep the window wide open throughout despite it only being medium warm outside. On the negative side there are no safes in the room for valuables storage and I didn’t see any USB charging points. These are the types of rooms where you’ll probably want to spend as little time in them as possible, which is fine for busy holiday-makers. The reception desk usually isn’t staffed but a number is provided for you to get in touch. As for the wi-fi, I don’t know, I found it so confusing. A card with passwords was provided but my phone didn’t pick up any of those options. I scanned a QR code that is provided in the rooms and that got me online but I honestly don’t know if I used up my personal data doing so which is annoying because The Isle of Man isn’t covered by my UK mainland phone provider’s data and minutes package. The real star of the show here though is the inclusive breakfast. There’s a really good selection to choose from – more a case of placing your order rather than the buffet approach. The ‘Full Manx’ breakfast with local kippers is superb – you can probably skip lunch on the back of one of those! The service was quick and friendly and that dining/bar room is certainly a nice area for breakfasts at least. I’d be tempted to stay here again just for the breakfasts!"

"Good location, good service"
Bed and Blueberry Two Bed Suite for 2,3, 4 People Own Facilities
"One again, we've enjoyed a wonderful stay at Bed and Blueberry. This was our ninth or tenth stay with Cindy and that should say it all - she is just the perfect host, friendly and welcoming. As always, the accommodation was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The layout of the house has been changed a little since our last visit and can now be arranged as two 5-bed family apartments, one on each floor - a really worthwhile improvement. There's a small, but well-equipped kitchen on each floor, which we found completely up to our needs. The house is located in a quiet side street, shielded from noise and traffic, but just a minute or two on foot from the promenade and the tram and bus stops. We couldn't wish for a nicer place to stay and are already making plans for next year!"
Trevelyan Hotel
Amadeus Apartments
"We stayed in the studio apartment, a beautiful modern, immaculately clean apartment. The hosts were really helpful and accommodating, great communication. The kitchenette was well equipped, if I had to find fault, it could do with a cheese grater, but absolutely didn’t affect our stay. The nursery next door can become a little noisy on weekdays and the apartment may benefit from horizontal blinds for a little more privacy. Other than that perfect!"
Comis Hotel & Golf Resort
"Comfortable room and great stuff"
The Hydro Hotel
"A bit dated, the room we had (305 ) was really too small for two people. Nowhere to put our cases at all, but we managed . Nice and clean, the towels were changed daily and the bed was comfy. The food was good and plenty of choice. The bar ran out of beer, then ran out of cider, which was a bit annoying, and the barman closed the bar very early at night, which was also annoying when we were still drinking. It was closed just after ten, which wasn’t really all right. Location is at the far end of the town, too far to walk to Douglas, but the bus stops outside."
Melrose Guest House
"Very comfortable base for our trip to the IOM which suited our budget well. We didn’t need a 5* hotel, we wanted somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep, which is exactly what we got. The rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels if required. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided. The en suite was great, plenty of hot water, soap & shower gel provided. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts were superb. Peter couldn’t have done more for us, the perfect host. Melrose is situated centrally, close to restaurants and the promenade, although it is up a very steep hill so it was also a keep fit holiday 😀. There are stairs to climb to reach the bedrooms and no lift, so less abled people may find it difficult."
