"This was our first stay at Meriton Suites, and the experience was excellent. As soon as we arrived, a friendly staff member greeted us and even offered bottled water while we waited. The check-in process was very convenient. The hotel's location is extremely convenient; supermarkets, the large department store Pacific Fair, various restaurants, public transportation stops, and the Gold Coast Convention Centre are all within walking distance. The room amenities were comprehensive; we especially appreciated the kitchen and laundry facilities, which included cookware, dinnerware, a washing machine, dryer, iron, and ironing board. The only downside was that one evening the hot water system broke down for several hours, and there was no water (not even room temperature) from any tap. However, the hotel did not provide drinking water or other emergency measures, forcing us to wait until after 2 AM for the water supply to be restored so we could wash up and rest. Aside from this, we were very satisfied with the overall stay."

"The room was quite spacious, but the facilities were a bit underwhelming. For example, the balcony door lock was broken on the first day, and though it was fixed, I later discovered the hot water in the sink wasn't working. These issues should really be checked before guests check in. Luckily, everything was eventually repaired. My stay wasn't the best, but the Nepalese lady at the front desk who helped resolve the problems was excellent – thumbs up to her!
Breakfast was a partnership with Harvest Buffet inside The Star, costing $30 for one adult and one child, which I thought was a reasonable price."

"I visited The Star Grand with high expectations, but I left feeling deeply disappointed. From the moment I arrived at reception, I felt an unwelcoming atmosphere that felt like subtle discrimination. As a guest, I expected professional and equal treatment, but the staff’s attitude was far from it.
The room was very basic—no Netflix, average amenities, and nothing 'grand' about it. Breakfast was also very limited. I expected a luxury experience but got something very mediocre instead. I do not recommend this place for the price."

"As an old customer for this hotel, I was well knowing of the location and comprehensive facilities and it offers good value for money...This stay time was a pleasant surprise, we were upgraded to The Star Casino Residents, a luxurious apartment complex across the street on the 23rd floor.
The great view from the balcony of the 23rd floor is absolutely perfect, and there are also public lounges, barbecue areas, swimming pool, Spa, gyms on the 20th floor, all of which are free use... The location downstairs is still outstanding (within walking distance to shopping mall, restaurants, bars, clinics, post office, banks, club, supermarkets, and train station). The room space is just right for a family of three (please refer to my picture detail). The staff always well friendly... I will keep this unique experience in mind💕Thank you"

"Although it is a bit far from Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach Mart and cafes and food and beverage stores are convenient. There's a yogurt ice cream place on the first floor, which isn't bad, and there's a Starbucks.
There is a playground about 200 meters away that is great for children.
Since there were no curtains, I had to wake up at 6 o'clock... There is a construction site right next to it, so it is noisy. It's noisy at night because there are clubs nearby. It wasn't bad for a few days.
The swimming pool was also great for kids to play in."

"Our stay at Vue Broadbeach Gold Coast was truly amazing. The pricing was very reasonable for the quality and location, and being just a short three-minute walk from the beach made it even better. The service was excellent—housekeeping was lovely, and the front desk staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Even though we stayed for a couple of nights, we honestly wished we had stayed longer. It’s definitely a place we would happily return to."

CCConeyiIt was blocked by a construction building by the sea, sad 💔. You can also see some sea views, the overall convenience, and you can walk to the beach in a few minutes. There are three rooms, the whole is relatively quiet, there are 2 households on the first floor, that is, the front desk sister arrives at work, and you have to communicate in advance if you need it.
There is a pool gym sauna, and the back door is closer to the beach.
The Gold Coast is really beautiful ❤️

DDyreI stayed at Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach from 24 to 27 July.
On the evening of 25 July, while applying body lotion as part of my normal daily routine, I noticed several small marks on my shoulder and upper inner thigh/groin area that appeared to be possible insect bites. I apply body lotion every day and am certain these marks were not present on the evening of 24 July after check-in.
It was winter on the Gold Coast, and on 25 July I spent most of the day inside a shopping centre, wearing long sleeves and long trousers outdoors. I cannot say with certainty where the marks came from, but later that evening I also saw insects in the room and immediately reported the matter to the hotel.
I did not want to remain in that room. I repeatedly tried to contact Trip.com because, based on previous experience, they have helped arrange alternative accommodation when hotel problems occur. Unfortunately, I could not reach Trip.com that night.
The hotel told me it was fully booked and offered only two options: move to a room without air conditioning or remain in the same room after it had been cleaned. As it was late, I was overseas, and I had no practical alternative, I reluctantly accepted the temporary arrangement.
That same evening, the hotel told me that I would be upgraded to another room the following day and that breakfasts on 26 and 27 July would be complimentary. Before accepting, I asked what would happen if the marks became worse. The staff did not make any promise regarding my physical condition or responsibility. They simply explained that the cleaning, room upgrade and breakfasts were “extra” goodwill gestures. I accepted based on that explanation and because I had no realistic alternative that night.
The staff who initially handled my complaint were polite, professional and genuinely tried to help. My main disappointment was the hotel’s internal communication.
For clarity, I paid for breakfast on 25 July myself. The hotel promised complimentary breakfasts only for 26 and 27 July, and I did not even have breakfast on 26 July.
Despite this, I had to explain the same arrangement three times:
1. When collecting the key for the upgraded room on 26 July, the front desk initially said breakfast was not included.
2. On the morning of 27 July, the restaurant reception again said I needed to pay.
3. At check-out on 27 July, the front desk attempted to charge me for three breakfasts.
The charges were eventually removed, but only after I explained the situation again.
My criticism is not directed at individual employees, as everyone I dealt with was polite and willing to help. The real issue was the lack of communication between the department handling my complaint, the front desk and the restaurant.
The location is excellent and the staff attitude was generally good, but discovering possible insect bites and insects in the room was already stressful. Having to repeat the same issue three times because the hotel’s own goodwill arrangement had not been communicated internally made the experience even more disappointing.
I hope the hotel improves its room hygiene, complaint-handling procedures and communication between departments.

GGuest UserOur experience was good. The apartments are well organised and no lengthy check-in process like other places. A bit surprised after paying the amount due weeks before and then being requested for another $500 prior to checking in otherwise the booking can't be guaranteed. Most people take American Express in the accommodation industry and this was also a surprise. Apart from that it was a very pleasant state and we will book it again if we get a good deal.

It's in a Great Location with a great view; however, the noise of the large bins being collected in the street each morning at 6:30 a.m did spoil our sleep-ins.
The most disappointing factor was the smell of the bathroom towels. I suggest a note to the company about laundering the towels.

GGuest UserVery handy location within walking distance to restaurants, beach and entertainment and secure onsite parking. Basic amenities, dated and tired. For price I had expected more. Simple things like matching crockery and newer furniture void of marks etc would really enhance the overall experience. Also, microwave had been damaged/burnt so stunk out room and we were wary to use.

GGuest UserThe actual place once we got settled was pretty good. The only issue that we really had was that the kitchenette was not clean enough. There were little tiny bug/ants that came out onto the counters every morning, or whenever we’d leave the counter unattended for a while. The utensils in the kitchen weren’t cleaned properly and we had to use boiling water to clean everything before using them.
When we arrived we had to wait for the room to be finished, which we didn’t mind at all it was only a 10 min wait, but they had sprayed this air refresher so much that when we went inside we couldn’t get the smell out for an hour or two even w the balcony door open and the fans running.
Other than that the bed, air conditioning, TV and rest of the amenities were good. The location was just perfect and super close to the beach. And the staff were very friendly.
