Xiahe Hotels with Wifi

"The best aspect of this stay was by far the owner. He was incredibly, incredibly helpful and friendly — from the moment I walked in the door he offered me a cup of tea, then provided tea and bread the next morning for breakfast, offered advice on what to see in the area, arranged a car to take me to Dalzong Lake, and finally even found me a spot on a local minibus going to my next destination. I couldn’t have done half the things I did during my stay in Xiahe without his advice and efforts on my behalf, so that alone made staying here fully worthwhile! It’s worth mentioning that the guesthouse’s architecture is also absolutely beautiful, and everything looks quite new. It’s located down a quiet side alley off of one of the main commercial streets in town, which seems like the ideal placement. On the accommodations: I stayed in one of the two tents erected on the second floor of the guesthouse. This was largely quite a good experience! The bed was very comfortable (with a heated pad), water and towels provided, etc. The tents are not in a closed-off area, but rather on the second floor/balcony area that also is used for sitting, serving tea, etc., so privacy is somewhat limited, but the whole guesthouse is relatively quiet anyway so it doesn’t feel like a public space. My only suggestions for improvement would be related to the bathroom: during my stay, the shared bathroom for the tents was a sort of temporary-style booth installed in the corner of the room with a toilet, sink, and showerhead. The bathroom was very clean and everything inside worked well, but its sliding door separated from the wall enough that there was always a substantial enough space on one side or the other that could be seen through (the door also didn’t lock and slid back and forth easily). The booth was also small enough that, realistically, I think it would be a bit of a challenge to actually use it to shower. If possible it might be worth looking into some simple fixes to improve these situations, but otherwise I have no complaints!"

"Facilities: Excellent. The in-room amenities are all very good. Hygiene: The room was clean and well-maintained. Environment: Both the hotel environment and the room environment are very good. Service: The three ladies at the front desk provided incredibly attentive service. When we checked in, one of them helped us with our luggage, which was very welcoming. Anything we needed was delivered promptly. For a small county like Xiahe, a hotel with this level of service is highly recommended."

"We were still traveling a few days ago, so I didn't have time to write a review. Now that I'm home, I want to give a proper review of this ******* guesthouse. Out of all the places we stayed during our Gannan road trip, this was by far the most satisfying. The entire guesthouse has a rich ******* ambiance, and the room's hygiene and facilities were impeccable. What's even more noteworthy is the ******* clothing experience – it was truly fantastic! All 8 of us took photos and group pictures in the garden, and the owner even took them for us. The accommodation is also very close to Labrang Monastery, which we walked to. I highly recommend it to everyone!"

"I had a very pleasant stay in this friendly family-run hotel. Decorated in the colourful local ******* style, the place has all necessary amenities including a restaurant and a bar, to make it a comfortable all-in-one stay. Located on the doorstep of the key attraction - Labrang monastery - and right in the heart of the old town, by the little picturesque creek, it is an ideal base for exploring the surroundings. The staff are super helpful and would be eager to make all necessary arrangements for you such as local drivers, etc. The hotel owner is a local ******* man, and if you are lucky and he is around (they have another property in the nearby Sangke Grassland) ,he would be generous with his time passionately sharing his extensive knowledge of the region and China in general. Feel free to ask for some suggestions and routes, as the owner and his Dutch wife also used to run a travel agency). And a small tip (based on my experience): give it an extra day or two for your body to adapt to the high altitude, to fully enjoy this special place!"

"This guesthouse has a lot of local character, and the rooms are decorated very warmly and kept very clean. It's also quiet at night. It's not far from Labrang Monastery, and you can walk there, which perfectly helps you avoid traffic. The owners are wonderful people, and our family of three had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thank you for your warm hospitality; we truly felt at home ❤️"

"This guesthouse is very near Labrang Monastery, within 5 mins walking. It stands in a small street next to the Xia river. There're many restaurants around, both western and local food. The hosts were very friendly and kind. Our room was on the second floor and they helped us to lift our luggage upstairs. Downstairs is a restaurant you can enjoy easy meal and good coffee/tea. The decoration is nice. The house is bright and the air flow is great. There're spots both upstairs and downstairs to sit to relax. And if you add their WeChat they would answer every question quickly. The bus station is around 1.5 km away. You can walk easily there and with taxi it costs only 2 yuan per person."

"In this fast-paced era, it is rare to find such a quiet homestay. The three-dimensional display of the Tibetan hand-painted wall at the door is super amazing, full of three-dimensional sense, and the national atmosphere is super strong. Friends who will take pictures or have high-value photos will take huge films. The room is warm and elegant, with a strong Tibetan style, and the living is particularly relaxing and comfortable. The sanitation is clean and tidy, the reception lady boss is super warm and caring, the service is thoughtful and meticulous, the whole experience is super good, highly recommended!"

"The homestay is located in the core of the scenic spot, in front of Baishi Cliff, open the window to see the beautiful scenery. Self-driving tourists are the first choice and parking is convenient. Living in a scenic B&B, you can avoid the trouble of queuing up by sightseeing bus, and you can also enjoy the tranquility of Ganjia's secret environment in the morning and evening. The crowds are retreating, and you can play and take pictures freely. It is awesome! More worth mentioning is that the owner of the hotel is very hospitable. The hotel provides free breakfast and the viewing room has a private bathroom. Clean and refreshing. The sun room is warm and bright! Recommended! The staff is sincere and satisfactory"

"The room was small and poorly soundproofed; you could hear your neighbors talking. The toilet seat had fallen off, and there was no hairdryer in the room, making it inconvenient to wash your hair. The only downside was the beautiful courtyard, where you could relax in the evenings. Definitely avoid the restaurant next door!"

"Place has a nice vibe and was quiet tidy and clean. Boss spoke English and staff had basic English which was great, food in their restaurant is really really good."
