"The location is great, with plenty of food options nearby. The rooftop bar is a nice spot to hang out and chat—if you find someone to talk to! The overall vibe of the hostel is positive, with lots of young people staying there. However, the bar is a bit far from the rooms, which can be inconvenient. The beds are quite noisy and lack curtains or privacy, which was a downside. That said, the staff are very friendly and do their best to resolve any issues, which really stands out."

"A little bit old but clean enough. And it’s a little noisy. The window is just toward the street on the ground floor. Every time people walk by the window, you can hear their talking. Especially the last night, there were some people playing crazy musics loudly on the street. It last almost two hours from 2:30am to 4:30am. So basically I didn’t sleep all night. Generally, the room was ok. But if you need quiet place, this may not a good choice."

"one of the best hostels i've ever stayed in despite being so cheap! dry-wet separated bathroom equipped with shower cream and blow dryer, bed has curtains and an extra compartment for storage. the best part being free dinner at the hotel bar after spending €4 at the bar, as well as free breakfast. really friendly for a broke student traveller like me!"

"I stayed at Marco Polo Hostel for one week after reading many positive reviews. Here’s my honest take: 📍 Location (10/10): The location is perfect—right in the city center. It’s just a 5–8 minute walk from both Metro 2 (where the hostel is) and Metro 3 / Deak Ferenc Ter (for the 100E airport bus). Couldn’t ask for better. 👋 First Impression & Check-in: I arrived early at 9 AM on Christmas Day (Dec 25), well before the 2 PM check-in. A friendly staff member (chubby, helpful) allowed me to leave my luggage in the storage room—a very kind gesture that started my stay on a positive note. When I returned to check in, there was a small confusion about my booking (I accidentally booked for 2 people in a 12-bed dorm instead of 1), but the staff handled it calmly and professionally. They also helped sort out a postal code issue for my Hong Kong details—thank you! 🛏 Room & Sleep: I was assigned beds 3 & 4 in a 2nd-floor dorm. The bunk beds are subdivided, offering decent privacy. Noise was minimal—maybe 10–15 minutes of understandable movement here and there, but nothing disruptive. Most guests were European ( students, southeast Asians and Europeans) staying short-term. Male and female dorms are separate. 🚿 Bathrooms & Facilities: All showers worked perfectly—good hot/cold water. Remember to bring your own towel and toiletries. As a backpacker, I was prepared, but it’s worth noting. 🍞 Breakfast: Available for 3200 HUF. Simple but satisfying—fresh, hand-made bread was delicious. I’ve never eaten so much bread in my life, and I mean that in a good way! 💧 Water & Extras: Bottled water is available for 500 HUF. The friendly slim staff even gave me a discount when I bought five bottles. Tap water in Hungary is drinkable, so you can refill if you prefer. I also appreciated the staff’s fluency in English—communication was never an issue. 🔑 Small Issues Handled Well: Once I locked myself out of my room, and they promptly lent me a spare key. My key card occasionally failed, but they fixed it in under a minute. The team is flexible and quick to help. ❤ Nice Touch: During check-in, the staff introduced a charity donation for kids in Hungary. I donated for the first time here—felt good to contribute. 📌 Final Tips: Read the house rules posted near the counter. Bring your own toiletries and towel. The hostel is well-run, clean, and staffed by helpful, English-speaking professionals. ✅ Overall: Great value for money, excellent location, and genuinely helpful staff. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to fellow travelers. I will definitely come back here for my solo travel!"

"All round the Corinthia Budapest is a great hotel with good prices and excellent service from very friendly employees throughout the hotel. Excellent spar. Relaxed lounge areas. The bedroom on fifth floor was very nice clean and comfortable. The heating system is set at a high temperature which can become quite uncomfortable in the middle of the night. Loved the Christmas decorations and Christmas Sunday brunch with free flowing beverages.  Very tasty food in the restaurant. The only issues we would highlight is the problem with the hotel being so big that the breakfast restaurant gets very crowded with delayed self service causing the food to become cold by time you sit down. This is also due to many guests leaving the Bain Marie food service warmer lids open as they are rushing to get food. Also the coffee is machines are not good quality or require servicing as the coffee was warm or cold once milk or cream was added. This was the case everyday over 5 days we never got a hot coffee.  Hot food and drinks are very important and this was unfortunately the only let down during our stay.  Hence the reason for a lower review score.  Aside from this I would recommend the hotel."

"I really like the room type on the 9th floor. It’s like twin studios. I wish I can study in Budapest. Rooms are clean, facilities good but no hairdryer. The mattresses is very supportive. Not so soft like those in the England which makes my waist sore."

"We had a really nice stay — it truly felt like home! The place was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The host was kind and responsive, which made the experience even better. One small suggestion though: it would be great to include a short video or clip with the instructions (like check-in steps or how to use certain appliances). It would make it easier to follow rather than reading through a long list of directions. Overall, a warm and pleasant stay that we’d definitely recommend!"

"I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the station, making it super convenient for travelers. It also offers easy access to various tourist attractions, which made getting around the city hassle-free. The room was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. Everything I needed was provided, and I appreciated the attention to detail. The bed was cozy, and I had a restful night’s sleep. Overall, a great place to stay if you're looking for comfort and convenience. I would definitely stay here again!"

"Overall, a good stay. Pros: In-unit washer, clothes-drying rack, and cooking facilities. Spacious layout with a living area (table and sofa), bathroom, and bedroom all within one unit. Reception staff were responsive and friendly. Convenient location, close to bus and tram routes, supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes. Access to the Anantara lobby and gym — I really loved the grand lobby. Privilege of accessing the New York Cafe without waiting, just like Anantara guests, since the two hotels and the cafe belong to the same group. The cafe’s interior design and live music, in my opinion, were worth the inflated food prices haha. Cons: Housekeeping was not very detail-oriented. I noticed traces of dirt on the floor, mirror, bathroom, carpet, inside the wardrobe, and under the bed. To be fair, these are not areas I usually interact with closely, but they were noticeable. The cleaners I interacted with did not communicate well in English and appeared less enthusiastic. Cleaning was missed one day. My room faced an inner courtyard and was very quiet, but rooms facing the road may be noisy."

"Booked a room with a view, and it was so worth it! First off, the location is fantastic, right next to Fisherman's Bastion. You can see both Fisherman's Bastion and the Parliament building right outside your window. The first rays of morning sun shine directly into the room, perfect for taking photos indoors or heading out downstairs to snap some pics before the crowds arrive. Breakfast was also excellent, with options like fried rice, congee, and soup, and the staff were very attentive and proactive. The only thing to note is that you'll need to take a taxi to get there, as it's built on a hill, just like Fisherman's Bastion."
