New Hotels in Athens

"This was my first time in Athens, and I chose this new hotel, which opens at the end of 2025, mainly because of its central location. It's only a 3-4 minute walk from the Omonia metro station, making it quick to get to Syntagma, Monastiraki, and Acropolis by metro. Advantages: Super new and sparkling clean. The hotel is truly new—the elevators, corridors, lobby, and rooms are all brand new. The location is actually very convenient. While it's not in a location like Plaka or Syntagma where you're practically right next to tourist attractions, it's a 15-minute walk to the bustling Ermou shopping street, and just three metro stops to the Acropolis entrance. A taxi to the airport takes only 35-40 minutes. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. The complimentary buffet breakfast didn't have a huge variety, but the quality was excellent. It included freshly cut fruit, Greek yogurt, various breads, an egg section (scrambled eggs and boiled eggs), traditional Greek pies, and freshly ground coffee. Minor drawbacks (genuine feedback): The Standard Room isn't very large. Both rooms are approximately 20-22 square meters, which is a bit cramped with an extra bed, especially when putting in luggage and having a child running around. The wardrobe is sufficient. If you have a lot of luggage, it can feel a bit cramped. There is no swimming pool or gym. In summary, for a family of four, the Great Athens Hotel is a very cost-effective choice, especially considering its newness, cleanliness, good service, and reliable breakfast. While the location isn't in the very heart of Plaka, its proximity to the metro makes up for it, and overall, we had a very comfortable stay. If we visit Athens again, we would definitely consider staying here again."

"It was a seamless stay during my trip in Athens at this service apartment type hotel. Was able to get an early check-in by calling them the day before the stay to see if is available (usually 1-2 hours before 3PM check-in is accepted). As are no physical reception desk in the lobby, we were prompted to download an app one day before the trip as it is for hotel main entrance and room entrance.  The hotline is very helpful and reliable. The room feels modern and nice with a TV per room with bar area and good furnishing. The sofa bed was comfortable. Just keep in mind that there might be an issue on the hot water as the amount is good for three use max. The surrounding area might seem dodgy on google streetview but it turned out to be the opposite as family would come out at night around that area. Also the weekend is alive with the night bars and music events there (not too noisy)."

"Because my first stay at this hostel was great, when I had to change my plan during my trip in Athens I came back this place. First time was a private room and this time I stayed in female dormitory. It was comfortable and I appreciate other guests were all considerate to others. The amenities available are so few. You better have your own toothbrush, face wash, etc. But over all love this place."

"The location is incredibly central, right above the busiest shopping street. With the window open, you can hear street performers, giving you that authentic feeling of being in a lively European city. Close the window, and it's a quiet haven inside, so the soundproofing is quite good – a big plus! Most of the core attractions are just a ten-minute walk away. The facilities are comprehensive and relatively new. Both the building entrance and room use a key code, which is the same for both and only four digits long. I'm a bit concerned someone could easily peek at it from the street and enter to steal something. I hope the hotel reconfigures this. Aside from this slight security worry, everything else was very satisfactory."

"2 çocuklu bir aile olarak ***et güleryüzlü , yardımsever bir ekip olduğu için çok keyif aldık. Yalnız daha önceki yorumlarda da belirtildiği gibi odanın penceresi olup olmadığını iyi sorgulamak gerekiyor. Her katta 1 veya anladığım kadarıyla 2 odamın penceresi yan cepheye ve aydınlığa baktığından çok ışık almıyor . Biz de bunu gördük ve oda değişikliği için ekstra ödeyerek geçtik . Otel konumu o kadar merkezi idi ki oğlumuzu rahatça tek başına gezmesi için bıraktık . Kahvaltı da ***et yeterli açık büfe ve en önemlisi lezzetli idi. Personel çok yardımsever etrafta herşey var , bina yeni tadilatlı . Karşı bina nın roof unda keyifli vakit geçirdik ama sanırım bu otele de roof bar yapılacakmış . Tavsiye ederim Atina ya geldiğimizde bir daha kalmak isteyeceğimiz bir otel ."
