Simply put, its worth visiting Luoyang just to stay at May Fourth Youth Hostel.
The level of cleanliness, amicability, overall positive yet low-key ambience should be the standard across the country. From the music choice in the lobby to the staff who run it, It's clear it has been designed and is run by people who really understand what it means to be a traveller and what makes a good hotel. The rooms are spacious (sometimes hostels can feel claustophobic - but not here), with beds having more space than typical, good quality pillow and duvets. Suited for both travellers from the east and west, there are seated and squat toilets, with a large array of showers. The washing machine is great (if they had a couple of good Dryers too that would be amazing), as well as the communal rooms with vending machines, pool table, and seating area (including the lovely quiet library space)
The location is decent too, a spacious cultural park is nearby with the hostel itself tucked away from the main street, creating convinience but not crowds. The price is perfect! ideal for young people, students and solo travellers visiting on a budget. My friend decided to stay here two more days just because of the comfort and facilities. As both a foreigner and a woman, i felt safe and welcome here so i reccommend friends from abroad to come check this place out. Possibly the best youth hostel i've had the pleasure of staying in

GGuest UserThe guesthouse is nestled in the old town. Taxis typically drop you off at the main road, requiring a short walk of a few minutes to reach the entrance, as the narrow streets can be challenging for cars. On the upside, it's incredibly close to Yingtian Gate, and you can conveniently park electric scooters right outside! One thing to note is that there's a primary school nearby, so you'll hear morning exercise music around 8 AM. The soundproofing isn't the best, but the numerous benefits easily make up for it – I could certainly overlook this.
Cleanliness was excellent. Just let the owner know if you need any tidying up; they were incredibly attentive, restocking disposable slippers, toothbrushes, tissues, and even facial tissues every time we returned. Such a thoughtful touch!
For service, I booked after the Dragon Boat Festival, and seeing I was staying for an extended period, the owner generously upgraded my room type for free, saying a bigger room would be more comfortable – a truly wonderful gesture! There were also four kinds of complimentary snacks on the table. The guesthouse even offers Hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) styling and makeup services with a discount for guests, which is a great opportunity if you've ever wanted to try it.

NNicDThis is a very nice hotel which is great value for money. The location is great, just around the corner from a large mall (Wangfujing) and lots of restaurants nearby. I especially recommend the little place with 'Chinese Hamburger' on the sign on the road behind the hotel building - they have an English menu and do great roujiamo - they even have a vegetarian 'sujiamo'! We got an upgrade on check in and the room was spacious and comfortable. The cleaners and reception staff were generally polite and helpful. The breakfast was Chinese but was fresh, different every day, and any food that ran out at busy times was always quickly replenished. The free laundry was very convenient and the machines were easy to use. We did have two issues which made staying there a bit inconvenient though. The first was that when the underground car park was full cars could no longer get past the barrier, meaning they couldn't drive up to reception. This was a problem since the road outside was flooded and meant that we had to load and unload suitcases while standing in deep puddles in the pouring rain. The second issue was the keycards: every day we would come back to our room and the keycard wouldn't work. We complained at reception every single day about this issue but it was never resolved.

The breakfast varieties are basically made of seasonal ingredients, and the cooking method is healthy and delicious.
The toiletries are attentive and sophisticated.
The only drawback is that the room was upgraded without prior communication, but it did not match the needs.

GGuest UserThe service was excellent. I arrived just after 9 AM, and they were able to check me in right away, several hours ahead of schedule. The evening congee was also quite good. The laundry service was also excellent; even though it's officially self-service, if you leave your dirty clothes in the laundry room, the staff will proactively wash, dry, and return them to your room. The location is also great; in the evening, you can take a 5-minute walk to Peony Bridge to admire the night view of the Luo River.

GGuest UserComing from Xi'an, where I frequently take my family to 5-star hot spring hotels like Angsana in Lintong and those in Tai Bai Mountain Tang Town, we're certainly no strangers to hot spring accommodations. However, I never expected to discover such a fantastic hot spring hotel here in Luoyang. The stay was incredibly comfortable, the breakfast was exquisite, and our butler was exceptionally attentive, providing impeccable care and service. They even arranged transfers for us wherever we needed to go.
We just returned today, and I'm already planning another visit next month! This wonderful place has truly made Luoyang feel much closer, making it perfect for a short two-day weekend getaway. Whether it's soaking in the hot springs, swimming in the infinity pool, or enjoying the delicious and refined breakfast, these are truly unparalleled choices for a weekend escape!
Once again, many thanks to the hotel for such a wonderful experience, and special gratitude to our butler for their care and attention to my family. Looking forward to our next stay!

Everything was absolutely perfect. The decor is beautiful and stylish, and the entire hotel is extremely clean. The staff speaks a bit of English, but most importantly, they were incredibly kind, helpful, and always ready to assist us.
They arranged our transfers to and from the train station, booked a restaurant for us by calling in Chinese, and even helped us organize a private driver for a day trip — everything was perfectly taken care of!
We also had dinner at the hotel, and it was delicious, with impeccable service. Breakfast was amazing too, with a huge variety of high-quality options.
Truly, compliments to the entire team — highly recommended!

It is on the same side of the mountain as the Buddha. It is the first choice for night tours of Longmen Grottoes. If you stay in the scenic area, you need to be picked up by a battery car. The front desk notified the car and it came to pick you up quickly. It was an accommodation experience that exceeded expectations. I have recommended it to my friends.

The breakfast is only provided on the first day of the reservation, and there is no breakfast for subsequent stays. However, I joined the tour group early on the second day and did not have breakfast. The only drawback is that there is only one charging socket by the bed.

GGuest UserCome and play in Luanchuan, Luoyang. You can see the hotel as soon as you exit the train station and subway exit A. It's so close to the train station! The hotel is very clean. Everything a hotel should have is very convenient and the service attitude is good. Very enthusiastic. I will stay here again next time I come to Luoyang.
