Great
GGuest UserWe chose this ryokan for its proximity to Asahikawa Zoo. With a rental car, its location was convenient. The room featured traditional tatami mats and futons for our family of four. The highlight was the in-house ‘onsen’ bath, which we enjoyed without any additional fees. The attentive staff surprised us by clearing the snow off our car after a heavy snowstorm. Senshoen gets my highest recommendation for its service, comfort, and lovely garden.

GGuest UserIt's an older business hotel, but the location is quite convenient. They also offer paid parking at 800 JPY per day with unlimited in/out privileges. Most staff were friendly and welcoming, except for one manager-like figure (in a black suit, rarely at the front desk) who seemed rather unwelcoming and didn't smile. The buffet breakfast wasn't overly extensive but was perfectly adequate. During the evening Happy Hour from 6 PM to 8 PM, they offered all-you-can-eat curry rice and one complimentary drink, including alcoholic options.

VverazheFirst time staying at an OMO hotel, and this one in Asahikawa is about a 10-minute walk from Asahikawa Station. It's quite family-friendly, with various animal themes throughout. The lobby has a great vibe, and they offer welcome drinks and snacks after 3 PM. There were a lot of Westerners here, likely for skiing, as the hotel provides free shuttle services to the zoo and major ski resorts. The room itself felt a bit dated, and the bathroom facilities were just average. However, the amenities in the public bath were Hoshino Resorts' own brand, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was more Western-style, and the dishes were beautifully presented.

GGuest UserSince it was my first solo trip in a while and I wasn't in a place I'd been to often, I searched for a hotel near the station where I wouldn't get lost and stayed here! It was a little far from the city center, so I had to walk a bit, but it was quiet and peaceful at night. The hotel's amenities only listed ”towels,” so I asked through chat if they had bath towels and was told they didn't. However, when I got there, I found bath towels...which added to my luggage. It's best to call the hotel directly to confirm the details of your reservation. The large basement bath, which is open until 2:00, is empty around 1:00, so I was able to relax, but the overall dim lighting was a bit creepy. Maybe the lighting could be a little better... Also, turning off all the lights in the room made it pitch black, so I slept with the light by the door on...but for people who can't sleep in complete darkness but can't sleep in too much light, this might be a bit difficult. 💦 The vending machine had a fairly wide selection of drinks, so I didn't have to go to the convenience store. There was ice on the first floor (they served up huge ice cubes with great force, lol), and the breakfast buffet, which wasn't included in my reservation, made for a comfortable solo trip! ❣️ Everyone at the front desk greeted me with a smile, making this a very pleasant two-day, one-night trip! Thank you very much! ☺️

GGuest UserWe stayed in a room with a good view of  the farmers fields and distant forest, it’s a great place for walks and cycling. There’s a Seicomart convenience store nearby. The house is comfortable and roomy. The hosts are welcoming and friendly. My suggestion for improvement would be to replace the existing soft sagging mattress and not charge guests for  usage of towels.

KKeaidouderenyimenIt was alright. Since it was peak snow festival season and we were staying for a long time, this was the only hotel that had rooms available for consecutive nights. We initially booked for a week, then extended for three more days. Note that if you extend your stay, even if it's the same room type, you'll be reassigned to a different room and have to check out before checking back in, which is very inconvenient. This was something I'd never experienced before staying at a hotel in Japan, so this aspect of the experience wasn't great. The location wasn't very convenient either; the distance from the station was awkward—not far, but not close either. Walking around to Aeon Mall in the snow was quite tiring. Aside from that, everything was pretty good. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was quite plentiful. The roasted baby potatoes were delicious; I ate several every day.

LLeo@HKThis is a traditional, family-run inn that truly excels in hospitality and personal charm. I booked a room with a private bath; it was exceptionally spacious at nearly 40 square meters, and we had the entire floor to ourselves. Our private bath was conveniently located directly on the rooftop, situated at the highest point of the small hill, offering an amazing soaking experience. The family operates their own restaurant, and both breakfast and dinner were delightful. This was our children's favorite hotel of the entire trip, providing fantastic value for money. They even have a nostalgic 90s-era arcade! It's definitely a top choice for travelers on a self-drive trip. The owner and staff were incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and kind. A huge thank you once again for their wonderful hospitality!
