This turned out to be a pleasant surprise. We arrived at midnight, and it was so dark we couldn't see the tiny 'P' sign for the campsite. We ended up parking at the bank's lot just ahead and dragging our luggage over, and my hands were freezing. Later, I realized the camp hotel had sent me a map with the location and room code – all that suffering for nothing! Luckily, the room was exceptionally clean, with a gas stove, microwave, and BBQ grill all fully equipped and neatly organized, ready for us to use. What was truly a special surprise was that the host had even pre-filled the bathtub with water for our arrival. The next morning, when I stepped outside for a walk, I discovered Mount Fuji right behind us – it was absolutely amazing! Many thanks to the host for providing us with such a wonderful experience. Driving to Oshino Hakkai the next day only took about fifteen minutes.

This is the most memorable guesthouse I've ever stayed at. The auntie and uncle were incredibly kind. They picked us up from the station near the guesthouse in the evening, took us to watch the sunrise on Hirano Beach in the morning, and gave us really helpful travel advice. They even gave us their bicycles (worth 700 yen an hour) for free to ride around the lake, treating us like children. It was such a warm welcome while traveling in a foreign country. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm back at Mount Fuji 😭

劈柴Since all other room types were unavailable, we stayed in a 6-person room. It was incredibly spacious, and pretty much every room offered an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji (weather permitting). The bathroom was huge and even had a private onsen and a sauna. Each room type came with dinner (BBQ) and breakfast for two. The portions were decent, though don't expect too much from the breakfast. The location is great, very close to Lake Yamanaka's attractions, only about a 10-minute drive away. There's also a fairly large supermarket right next door, just a minute's drive, which was super convenient for restocking. However, due to the glamping site's location, you can't see the sunrise with Mount Fuji in the same frame. I had planned to wake up early to catch the sunrise, but it turns out the sun rises on the opposite side. Overall, aside from being a bit pricey, everything else was perfect. The staff were very nice, and their English communication was excellent.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Villa Fuji Yamanakako. The view is truly 10/10 — we could see Mount Fuji directly from the villa, and waking up to such a breathtaking scenery every morning was an unforgettable experience. The location is perfect, with Lake Yamanakako just a 1-minute walking distance, making it very convenient for morning walks and enjoying the peaceful lakeside atmosphere.
The villa itself was very comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. One of the highlights was the fully furnished kitchen — there were plenty of utensils, plates, pots, and cooking tools available, which allowed us to prepare and enjoy our own breakfast easily. It really felt like a home away from home.
The environment was quiet, relaxing, and ideal for anyone looking to escape the busy city and enjoy nature, especially with the stunning view of Mount Fuji right in front of you. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, and our stay was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.
We highly recommend Villa Fuji Yamanakako to anyone visiting the Fuji area. It is a perfect place for families, couples, or friends who want a comfortable stay with an incredible view. We would definitely love to come back again in the future!

A short drive from Lake Yamanaka, we checked into here for the night—mainly because we wanted to explore the area and try the region’s famous Hōtō noodles.
We chose a traditional Japanese futon room for the experience. That meant laying out our own beds—slightly clumsy, a bit of trial and error, and a lot of laughing when we realised there’s no “redo” once everything’s set.
The weather had a chill to it, so the onsen became the highlight. Stepping into the hot water while the cold air lingered outside—it slowed everything down in a way you don’t realise you need.
Nothing extravagant, nothing overly planned. Just the four of us, figuring things out as we went.
Looking back, it wasn’t the hotel or even the lake—it was those small, unpolished moments that made the night feel complete.

Definitely one of the best stays during my Japan trip so far. The host Leslie was super friendly and welcoming, he walked us through everything we needed to know and even gave us a little tour of the place.
The highlight for me was definitely the three different types of onsen (something I was really looking forward to!), and the rooms were clean, spacious, and really comfortable.
He even drove us to the nearest convenience store when he found out we hadn’t had dinner yet, which was such a kind gesture. Breakfast the next morning (Western-style) was amazing too.
Would 200% come back again!

From the room, you can see Mount Fuji. It is very fast to go to the shore of Hirano. If you want to see the morning sunshine in Jinshan, you can open the curtains to see the clarity of Mount Fuji today and then decide whether to go downstairs. There is a private bathroom in the room. The room is large and the hotel is not new overall. You have to carry your luggage upstairs without elevator. It takes7-8 minutes to drag your luggage from Hirano bus station to the hotel.
